Seventeen years ago, I was born into the Water Clan. My father, being the Alpha, along side my mother, being his female counterpart and mate, and my older brother, Suho, who is next in line to be Alpha of our clan. My clan, along with all of the other clans, have specific tattoos that we are born with. Each clan has a tattoo specific only to that clan, and powers are specific to clans as well. The Water Clan, as the name implies, can manipulate water with our minds. My best friend comes from the Lightning Clan, who can wield lightning. His name is Chen. He has been my best friend ever since we were babies. Suho's best friend, Kris, who comes from the Dragon Clan and can fly, has always been around to act as a second older brother. But sometimes, Kris feels like an older brother, while Suho feels like an older sister.

Every generation or so, a inter-clan marriage is made as a way to “keep the peace” amongst our people. The last inter-clan marriage was my mother and father. My mother was originally from the Teleport Clan, which explains her tattoo. Her being from a different clan other than the Water, gave me an extra tattoo. My Water tattoo is on the inside of my right wrist. My Teleport tattoo is on my back, on the left shoulder blade. For some reason, Suho didn't get a Teleport tattoo. My father said that multiple tattoos usually skips a generation.

My mother's marriage to my father was how the Teleport Clan came to be a part of the Delos. The Delos is the alliance between the Water Clan, Dragon Clan, Lightning Clan, and Teleport Clan. The rival alliance, comprised of the Fire Clan, Psychic Clan, Time Clan, and Light Clan, called Kios, and have always fought with the Delos. There is also another alliance, called Tyros, consisting of the Earth Clan, Frost Clan, and Healing Clan. This alliance considers itself “neutral” in the wars fought between the Delos and the Kios.

The group of beings that rule over all of the clans tell us to call them the “Great Lords”. The rule over us because long ago, when the clans first came into being, the Great Lords created us in order to protect the defenseless humans in he Great War. During the Great War, humans were being terrorized by the “Dark Ones”, and upon seeing their need, the Great Lords created us out of volunteer humans in order to protect other humans and serve as their guardians.

The Great War was centuries ago, and the Dark Ones have not been seen much of in the years after the Great Lords and the Clans won the war. Without a need for protection from the Dark Ones, the Clans have settle for protecting humans from natural and man-made disasters. Most of the time, though, we just live normal lives amongst them. None of them suspect anything from us, they just know we are different from them.
