Erased From Her Heart

Triangle

Wow, 17 subscribers, 6 comments, and over 300 views? Thanks guys! You’ve inspired me. Enough to post this on Soshified. Hahaha. Now, I know you’re all wondering: is this Jeti, Taeny, or quite possibly Taengsic? I’ll give you a hint, it’s in the tags. Bwahahaha. Did that help? Sorry, just keep reading and I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I’ll try to keep everyone pleased [which we know is impossible] and I have a feeling that some people aren’t going to like me at one point of the story. LOL.

On a side note, I was working on the main image for this story. I’m not the greatest when it comes to Photoshop but I gave it a go. I’ll post it up around the third chapter.

I’ve replied to all my subscribers except for FanyJess. Thanks for subscribing!

Jessica glanced up as she heard the lock click open. Her girlfriend of three years and counting came in with a rather tired look on her face. There was a hollowness in her eyes and Jessica frowned.

“Tiff, baby?”

“Hey, Jessi,” Tiffany lowered herself onto the couch next to her girlfriend. She leaned over and gave her a deep kiss.

Jessica rested her palm on the side of Tiffany’s face, and softly caressed the smooth skin there. Air soon became an issue and caused them to break apart. Jessica’s hand slowly slid down to her girlfriend’s side. Their hands came together with their fingers automatically becoming intertwined. Tiffany’s thumb rubbed against the back of Jessica’s hand before pulling it away.

“I’ll prepare dinner tonight.”

The blonde stared at the brunette’s back. She could feel it again. That dark aura around Tiffany. It was an aura of sadness that the eye-smiling woman tried to hide from her. Jessica’s known her for the majority of her life and she couldn’t help but frown for the second time that night.

“Tiff…”

“Yes, Jessi?”

Jessica her lips nervously as she watched her girlfriend move around the kitchen. Sounds of the clanging of pots were heard as Tiffany was searching for something.

“Gwenchanayo?”

Tiffany nodded with a smile and pecked Jessica on the lips. The wordless answer didn’t settle well with Jessica. Tiffany was quite the chatterbox and Jessica knew she was avoiding answering the question verbally. However, Jessica accepted the silent answer and sat on the stool by the island. She sighed and knew there was a problem. A problem she couldn’t share with her. A problem, that Tiffany didn’t want Jessica to worry about. The same damn problem Jessica’s had to deal with for quite some time now.

~

“Stephi!” a teenaged Jessica was waving frantically inside the airport. She smiled at the sight of her mushroom-haired, best friend.

“Jessi!” her loud megaphone voice seemed to bounce off the walls. Her signature eye-smile could be seen as she ran towards Jessica.

The two embraced tightly once they were within arms’ reach. Unbeknownst to herself, Jessica relished being in the arms of her best friend. The embrace lasted for quite awhile before they pulled away from each other.

Jessica’s hand was resting on Tiffany’s forearm, as she looked her friend up and down in appraisal, “I missed you!”

“I missed you too, Jessi,” Tiffany had a soft smile on her face. She nudged the brunette’s shoulder with a small laugh, “What have you been up to?”

“Oh, you know. Counting down the days before you come visit me,” Jessica said in jest. Though said in jest, she couldn’t help but feel like she was speaking the truth. Tiffany only came to the States during breaks, either in the summer or the winter. At times, if Jessica’s lucky, she’ll come around for both.

Tiffany laughed as they started walking towards the airport’s exit, “You remind me of Taetae.”

“Really?” Jessica tilted her head and unconsciously frowned. She knew of this Taetae, if she recalled correctly, her name was Taeyeon.

The eye-smiling girl nodded enthusiastically, “Yeah, she said she’ll be counting the days until I go back to Korea.”

~

Taeyeon. That name had circulated almost all her life, from as long as she can remember in her younger years, to today. Kim Taeyeon was the girl Tiffany first fell in love with. In high school, she couldn’t do much as she was still sorting out her feelings for the mushroom-haired girl at the time. After high school, Jessica went to the same college as Tiffany.

In college, Tiffany wasn’t the normal, eye-smiling girl the first two years. Taeyeon went in a different direction and to prevent further heartache in a long-distance relationship, she called it off. Tiffany was a wreck and could only be comforted by Jessica. At this low point of Tiffany’s life was when Jessica came to accept her feelings for her best friend. That love accumulated and at first, was rejected by Tiffany.

~

Jessica and Tiffany walked into their dorm with high spirits. They laughed wholeheartedly before collapsing onto Jessica’s bed.

“You should have seen his face!”

“Yeah, when it went all,” Jessica imitated the sour look she witnessed earlier.

“That! Exactly like that!” Tiffany clapped her hands together as she laughed.

It took the two awhile to calm down before they settled in comfortable silence. They lay on their backs with their shoulders, thighs, and legs touching. Jessica glanced over at Tiffany and could feel her heartbeat.

Dugeun. Dugeun. Dugeun.

She accepted it. Accepted the fact that she was hopelessly in love with her best friend who was still recovering from heartache. Though she knew that fact, she couldn’t help but fall in love with her. Where was Taeyeon now? Not here. Jessica was here now. To care for Tiffany like she should have.

Jessica glanced over to the now redhead. Her eyes studied Tiffany’s profile. Her forehead, her eyes, her nose, her jaw line, and her chin. Not only seeing it in her peripheral vision, Tiffany could literally feel the intensity of Jessica’s gaze. She turned to face Jessica silently. Jessica’s eyes took in her best friend's beauty. Her eyes lingered on her lips for quite some time before settling on her eyes.

There was an eye-smile and a slight tilt of her head, “Yes?”

“Tiff, I love you,” she said in an almost whisper. Jessica was internally shocked. That hadn’t meant to come out but it was so natural. It felt right. There was nothing else she was surer of. This girl, was the love of her life.

Tiffany became still, her eye-smile widening in surprise. This was Jessica, her best friend. Someone very close to her. Someone she confided in. Someone who comforted her. Someone she didn’t think who’d have feelings for her.

She swallowed before answering carefully, “Jessi, you know I cant. There’s still-”

“Taeyeon,” Jessica interrupted her. She knew. It’s always been her.

“I know. That doesn’t change how I feel,” the blonde said with conviction. Her hand came up and caressed Tiffany’s cheek.

Jessica leaned her head forward and rested it against Tiffany’s, “Hopefully, when you’re ready. You’ll accept my love for you, because there’s no one else in this world I’d rather be with. You’re it for me Stephanie Hwang.”

~

That had been the most nerve-wracking event in her life. From then on, Jessica made sure to show Tiffany her love for her. She didn’t want her to be uncomfortable but at the same time, she didn’t want her to lose a best friend. It was small gestures that she was there for her. A comforting hug. A listening ear. At times, random outings that weren’t allowed to be called dates. Failed homemade cookies but it was the thought that counted. It took a whole year of being “just friends” before Tiffany turned the tables on her.

~

It was a hot summer and Jessica was groaning. The air-conditioning was broken in their dormitory and the poor blonde was suffering. Tiffany wasn’t faring much better but she couldn’t help but laugh at her best friend. Jessica was leaning against the broken air-conditioner, hoping that the blessed cool air would blow in her face. Sweat was pouring down her neck and the known ice-princess hated that.

“Here, wipe yourself down,” Tiffany tossed her a hand towel.

Jessica grunted in thanks before wiping her face. After her love for Tiffany, Jessica’s love was the air-conditioning. She sighed and pouted in heartache.

Tiffany giggled and tugged Jessica away from the AC which earned her some protest, “Ah! Tiff! No! My AC!”

“It’s broken, pabo. Just come sit with me.”

“No, there’s nothing better than my AC.”

“Even coming to sit next to me?”

“Yes, even coming to sit next to you,” Jessica said firmly.

Tiffany couldn’t help but smile at her best friend. She tugged on Jessica’s wrist once more. The blonde stumbled forward. Their lips met. Tiffany began to massage Jessica’s lips with her own. It took the blonde awhile to respond before her palm rested on Tiffany’s face. Tiffany’s hands rested on Jessica’s shoulders.

Once they separated their lips with a pop, Jessica’s eyes were wide with shock. A light blush covered her face and her heart was trying to calm down.

“What was that for?”

“I love you, Jessi,” Tiffany gave her an eye-smile before pulling her back in for another kiss. Screw what she said earlier, Tiffany’s kisses were so much better than the air-conditioning.

~

Jessica watched Tiffany’s back with a grim expression. They had come so far.

As friends.

As lovers.

She knew that once Taeyeon was back in her life, Tiffany would leave her. Yet, she was still here. Was it out of obligation? She didn’t know. Tiffany ran into Taeyeon awhile back, and it’s been months. Tiffany was still here, but she still met up with Taeyeon occasionally. Like today. The days when Tiffany came home with a dark expression. It was as if she was holding Tiffany back. Though it pained her to do so, Jessica knew it was time to let go. This would tear her to pieces but if you love someone, you should let them go, right?

Jessica glanced back up at Tiffany who was busy preparing dinner. She gulped and could feel the tears threatening to escape. How could she keep her Tiff from happiness? She wished she were enough. She wished she had erased Taeyeon from Tiffany’s heart. But, that wasn’t the case. She had to let her go.

“Tiff…”

Well! Tell me what you think. I was aiming for 1000 words. It seems I went over. Sorry about that. I was trying to remember where I got the idea of this story. It shall all be revealed in chapter 3. :)

Hopefully, I didn’t disappoint you guys. It was a Jeti-centric chapter in this one. Expect Taeny in the next! As for the Taengsic shippers out there…don’t lose hope. There might be some moments. ;)
