Hello everyone.
I'm Catherine Wu.
My full name is Catherine Alexandra Wu. I'm a Chinese-Korean born. I'm 6 years old currently. I love to play puzzle and carry my mickey mouse doll around the house. I have a room filled with toys and dolls, which I got from my daddy. Oh and I love to eat cupcakes.
This is my daddy. He's handsome, right? Daddy is really kind, despite of his face. My friend was once crying when she saw my dad, because she thought my dad was angry. Just like every little girl, I love my daddy a lot. He has a broad shoulder and tall body, so every time he lifted me up, I felt really tall compared to when I stand up on a chair. Daddy likes to kiss me a lot, I love it because dad's kisses were soft.
Mommy said that I have the stubbornness level like my dad, but I don't get her word. What is stubbornness? Mommy loves to use weird words anyway. Oh talking about my dad, I rarely saw him. He always worked early in the morning and coming back home a little late. I love weekend because I can see him full day. Daddy never angry with me, mommy does. But I love them both...
When I'm in my grandma's house, I like to play with Arthur gege. Arthur gege is my cousin, he's the son of Aunt Victoria. This is his picture.
I like to hangout with him a lot, even though most of the time he's living in New York. Every time he came to Hong Kong, he always take care of me and play with me. I think my dad likes hanging out with my mom just like me like hanging out with Arthur gege. The other thing that I like from my dad: he likes to buy me anything I want. Even a brother!
I don't know where he buys a brother for me, but all I know mommy hides my brother now in her belly. She's really hide it well, I couldn't wait to see him though. Will it appear from the behind of my mom's clothes? I'm still not sure, but dad told me to be patient about it. My parents is cool.
Talking about my parents, This is my mommy. She's really beautiful. I love to stay near with her a lot. She wakes me up in the morning and help me to bath. Daddy mostly will drop me in the play group, but mommy will pick me up in the afternoon. Sometimes I visit her beauty store and get to see so many woman put a color on their faces. I'm glad that my mommy didn't color her face. She only put some color on her lips and she looke beautiful only with that. Maybe my dad likes to play with my mom because she looked like doll.
Mom also seemed to like hanging out with my dad. I've once spotted her playing with my dad as she rides his back while dad takes her to their room. Or when they touched their lips. I don't know why my mom would like to attach her lips to my dad's, but every time they did it mostly when they think I'm not around, I guess they forgot that I'm exist when they did that. Maybe I should ask them what are they doing...
I love my mom's cook. I miss my time baking cupcakes with her. We often sitting on the kitchen creating cupcakes. This was what she made for my 2nd birthday: a Mickey Mouse cupcakes!
Mom also likes to read me bedtime stories, but she fell asleep earlier than me when she reads it. My halmeoni said that I looked like my mommy when she's still a kid, minus the eyes. I got my eyes from my dad, according to grandma Viv. Oh, because I'm a mix of Chinese and Korean, I spoke 3 different languages: English, Chinese, and Korean. But I think I'm a failure. Sometimes I think in English, but when I'm about to speak Korean, I blurted out Chinese words. I'm feeling bad to grandpa Charles because my Chinese is still bad, so I can't talk to him in Chinese and because my Korean is still lack also, I can't speak Korean with harabeoji. In the end,I spoke English with my family members. I need to learn from Uncle Henry, daddy say Uncle Henry is really smart.
Mommy's body is getting bigger lately. Aunt Amber said it's because mom is going to give me the little brother. I'm sad as she looked very tired and she slept easily everywhere. Lately, mom couldn't even leave the bedroom. I noticed my dad face seemed to be more gloomy. Dad didn't play the airplane again with me. He came home earlier, but it's for mom. Aunt Amber and Uncle Henry exchanged for several days to picks me up from school.
Daddy said that because I'm going to be a sister for my little brother, I have to learn to be more mature. I don't know what mature is, but I guess cleaning up my toys and dolls after I played it and put it back to its place is mature. I also didn't cry when I don't get the snack that I want in school. Daddy praised me for being a good daughter.
Currently I'm staying at the alley in hospital. Halmeoni and harabeoji came along with my China grandpa and grandma. I didn't remember when we go here, because I thought I was sleeping in my room. I sat on my harabeoji's lap, looking confusedly to everything. Dad's waiting anxiously, he kept holding both of his hands. I saw him looking sad and worried. From what my harabeoji told me, my little brother is about to come. I don't know why he has to come from hospital, not from the airport or train station. Where does he live before?
I started to dislike my little brother. Why he made my mom tired and dad looked sad about it? If I knew that this little brother annoyed my parents much, then I don't want him... But I don't know, everyone's happy at the moment right when the doctor that my mom often see going out from a room and shaking my dad's hand.
Harabeoji and halmoni kissed me, Aunt Amber even lifted me several times. No one looked sad, so I got a bit confused now. I need my parents with me to explain all of this...
"You have a little brother now, Catherine!" Aunt Amber said with giggle. I don't know, should I feel happy? But my dad then came to me and hugged me on his embrace. The first thing I do as soon as he lifted me was hugging his neck tightly. He laughed, while grandma Viv patted my head and kissed my cheek. I love all of the elders in my family, but all I want now is my dad and mom, so I refused when my granny offered to lift me.
"Princess Catherine, what's with that attitude?" he asked me softly as he looked at me in the eye. I rubbed my eyes, not wanting to cry.
"I want mommy"
He the crown of my head and smiled. I love his smile a lot, it's just I haven't seen it for a while. "Sure we'll be seeing mommy soon... But first, I want to introduce you to someone that you've been looking for the past months" he said as he walked us to another alley. I didn't leave my dad's neck, I keep hugging him.
"Look at here, Baby" he said, turning my head to opposite direction, I'm facing a room surrounded by glass. There're a lot babies inside the room. Baby girl, baby boy, all of them were sleeping. Some of them smiled, some slept. I put my hands on the glass, looking inside. A nurse opened the door of the room from inside, bringing another baby to the room. I looked at my dad, he had all of his attention to that little baby, forming a smile then turned his head to me.
"That's your brother, Catherine" he said, appointed the baby. The nurse placed him to the bed that located the nearest with glass where dad stood. I'm a bit hesitated to see him, but I'm also curious so I looked at him. There there... He's cute. He's really cute with chubby cheeks and black hair, eyes closed. He's far from annoying and all I wanted now is playing with him. Arthur gege must like him too, he's like a doll.
"How do you think of him?" Dad asked me.
"He's cute... Can I play with him?"
"Sure..later when he's back with us to home, we can play with him... He'll be happy to have a sister like you" he said, kissing my cheek. Somehow I feel happy when my dad say that.
"What's his name?" I asked him.
"Alden. Christopher Alden Wu. Is that a good name?" he answered as he waved to the sleeping baby. "Hello Alden" he called him. Right after daddy said his name, the baby opened his eyes, smiling but then sleeping again. Daddy and I beamed happily as the baby looked at us. I'm totally in love with him.
Not too long after that, the other family members came to the nursery room. They told me about how Alden and I shared similar eyes and that we exactly looked similar when we're born. I just smiled, I'm looking forward to play with Alden though to see our similarity. I grabbed my dad's collar, he looked at me.
"Yes, Darling?"
"I want to see mommy..."
"Ok, let's see mommy. She's been asking for you also..." he answered with a smile and brought me to her room. I couldn't wait to see my mom, I haven't talked to her since yesterday. As we walked away from the nursery room, I looked back to where my brother's sleeping.
Little brother please wait for a while. I'm going to see you soon after I see mommy, okay?
