His Song I

Love Language

Daehyun fidgeted anxiously in his seat. His mind was already ready to get out of class. He darted his eyes up to the small, box-like clock on the wall. The red numbers seemed to mock him as they stood out against the dark background.

Three minutes.

Class had been predictable to say the least and Daehyun found himself playing back memories of yesterday afternoon. Thoughts of a smiling, laughing Youngjae kept flitting into his mind and the way Youngjae opened up to him had Daehyun curving his lips up into a gentle smile.

One minute.

However his smile was wiped away as thoughts of a distressed conflicted looking Himchan played across his mind. A frown quickly took the place of his former expression. It wasn't like Himchan at all to act the way he did before class started. The Himchan he knew was derpy, somewhat clumsy, and certainly didn't know the definition of silence when it came to talking. He wasn't the boy that ran out on him before class started.

He wasn't the boy that kept secrets.

There was something Himchan wasn't telling him and Daehyun just couldn't bring himself to understand why.

Ring!!

Saved by the sound of the bell Daehyun practically shot out of his seat and sprinted out the classroom. His mind was focused on one destination as he reached for the phone in the back of his pants. Daehyun flipped through his contacts until he came to the one he desired. There was only one contact on his phone that would be labeled as 'The Derp Chan' and missing it would have been hard. As Daehyun rounded a corner, phone to his ear, he never thought it would be as frustrating as it was now to repeatedly hear the phrase 'Please leave a message' played over and over again as he kept re-dialing.

Himchan wasn't picking up and that left Daehyun feeling a mixture of confusion and anxiety- although it was more the latter. Himchan not picking up his phone was like him saying he hated food- completely unheard of. Daehyun felt a wave of nervousness cascade over him. Just what was going on?

Too caught up in his own thoughts Daehyun unfortunalty strayed a little too close to the side of the hallway and his head suddenly collided with something cold and hard.

"Ow!" Daehyun yelped as his forehead was met with the painful metal of the locker door. Thankfully for him he wasn't running so the force wasn't enough to send him spiraling to the floor. He rubbed the growing lump on his head as he glared at the person behind the locker, ready to confront whoever it was.

Daehyun opened his mouth to speak only to snap it back closed again when he saw exactly whose locker he'd slammed into.

Cold eyes stared back at him as he stood there, mouth agape. Yoona finished gathering her books and slammed her locker shut. A few surrounding students flinched at the sudden sound. She emitted such a threatening aura that even students from a few feet away would shudder at her presence.

"It's not nice to stare." Yoona coolly stated as she moved away from her locker and started to make her way through the crowded halls. The students parted willingly when she neared, no one dared to be the one on the receiving end of her anger. She spared no glance back.

Daehyun stood stunned for another second and before he could even think about what he was about to do his mouth was already talking.

"Yah!" He exclaimed.

Yoona stopped walking. The surrounding students held their breath. She tilted her head around and raised an eyebrow.

"Why are you acting like this?" Daehyun continued. His voice sounded no louder than a whisper, but strangely enough Yoona managed to catch every word.

His eyes bore through her head as if the answer was just going to pop up if he stared hard enough. Usually Daehyun would have done everything he could have to avoid the girl standing in front him. He would never be able to fathom how she could harbor such an air of coldness. It was as if she held no heart. She was hard and cold to the world.

As the both of them stood there in the crowded hallway, each refusing to back down, Daehyun remembered it wasn't always like the way it was now. His hard gaze softened little by little as the memories of the two of them growing up together, playing together, sharing secrets together started to occupy his thoughts once more filling his mind with a time when the two of them had truly been good friends. Childhood friends. And Daehyun would never forget the memories they shared or the times they had together. They were inseparable and he cared for her like a sister.

"What happened between us?" Daehyun spoke with a little more volume, his voice a cross of pleading and demanding. He ignored the growing murmurs of his surrounding classmates. They could gossip all they want about this. Daehyun's mind was so jumbled up with thoughts it was getting hard to think clearly.

Yoona stood, unfazed at his loud outburst. She showed no signs of mentally acknowledging what Daehyun just said. After a few moments Yoona turned her body, catching Daehyun's gaze straight on, her expression unreadable.

A few moments passed and Daehyun spoke again. "Why are we like this now?" He could see her eyes softening. "Yoo-"

He was stopped as the said girl abruptly turned her head away. He noticed the white of her knuckles as they gripped onto the hard spines of her books. He was about to speak again until she turned her head up. They were back to the cold, endless black she always displayed to the world.

"Don't look at me like that." Yoona practically growled, her teeth clenching heavily in the process. "People change. I'm not the girl you knew from before."

Daehyun stood stunned. His mind having a hard time processing her cold tone. Was this the same girl that so forcibly confessed to him a couple days ago?

He swore her sudden changes in attitude and personality were starting to get to him.

Yoona paid no heed to Daehyun's shocked and confused figure. "Not everything is always as it seems." She whispered, turning her eyes downward. The volume of her voice dropped considerably.

"I've been through so much that you'll never understand."

Ring!!

As if on cue the bell signaling the start of afternoon classes rung out. Its shrill tone echoing through the hallways. Almost immediately students scrambled right and left all trying to get towards their expected class. Daehyun was left with no chance to answer back and as much as he wanted to he knew his voice would have been drowned out by the clamoring students around him. He glanced back at Yoona one last time and she still stood with her head turned away from him. Another moment passed and Daehyun managed to meet her eyes once more before she broke away. He swore he saw a tinge of regret flash across her eyes, but as her hair blocked out her eyes Daehyun was left wondering if what he saw was true. Her lips moved to say something more, but it was far too loud around him for him to even catch a word of it. Soon, and without another glance in his direction, she her heels and walked away.

Her departure led Daehyun to realize that the once crowded hallways were now empty and he stood there in the middle of the walkway completely alone. He glanced at his phone for the time and internally cursed. The time he took to confront his past childhood friend turned---Daehyun stopped and glanced back-- he didn't know what had eaten up more time than he expected. Five minutes was all the time he had to make it out of campus and catch the bus. It seemed like dance class had another use after all. Breathless Daehyun made it onto the faded metal steps of the bus with a couple seconds to spare. He looked around and found an empty window seat near the front. Considering it was early in the afternoon Daehyun found it a little surprising the bus wasn't more crowded, not that he was complaining. The bus roared to life as the driver started the engine and gradually the vehicle started to move away, swaying its inhabitants as it shifted. Daehyun flopped down into the seat with a sigh. Figuring he had a little time before his desired stop Daehyun closed his eyes and leaned his head against the cool glass of the window letting his mind wander away deeper and deeper with each passing second.

"Daehyun! Come outside and greet our new neighbors!"

Pattering footsteps were heard as a little boy with sandy brown hair made his way through the house and eventually out the front door. His eyes were greeted with the sight of his parents standing besides another friendly looking couple. The boy’s eyes widened in wonder and excitement. The other couple held in their arms a little baby girl, but that was not what caught Daehyun's interest. Standing or more like hiding, behind the couple was a little girl that appeared his age or maybe one or two years younger. She was clutching a teddy bear and failing to hide herself behind her father's legs. Her dark eyes peaking out every so often to observe the surroundings around her.

"Ahh there you are Daehyun." Daehyun's mother, a caring woman around her early thirties, spoke when she saw her little boy."Come down and say hi to the Lee family. They just moved in today." His mother turned back towards the new family and gave them a welcoming smile. Daehyun had made his way towards his parents now, his eyes still trying to catch a clear glimpse of the little girl hiding behind her parent’s legs.

"Mr. and Mrs. Lee this is my son Daehyun." Daehyun's father spoke now formally introducing Daehyun to the couple before them.

"Oh please call us by our first names. Really." Mrs. Lee gave a dazzling smile, cradling the baby in her arms. Her husband nodded in agreement, his lips turned to form a small grin.

Remembering his manners Daehyun gave a small smile and politely bowed. "Hello. It's nice to meet you."

"Aww he's so cute!" Mrs. Lee spoke almost squealed. "If we ever have a son I hope he can be as handsome as you are." She smiled and turned towards her husband. "Insu honey don't you think so?"

The man- who Daehyun could only assume to be was Insu- gave his wife a knowing look, although a smile was threatening the corners of his mouth. "Yes, there's no doubt little Daehyun here is very handsome."

Daehyun's parents gave small chuckles and little Daehyun himself found that he might like this slightly odd and friendly new couple.

"Although I think we may have our hands full right now." The tall man gave a small laugh.

Mrs. Lee him a quizzical look then a sudden gasp left her lips. "Oh right! We haven't introduced you to our daughter yet! Oh how silly of us how could we be so rude?"

Daehyun stood expectant, waiting for the little girl he first spotted to finally be revealed. During their little introduction he had caught her eyes a few times and she had dutifully looked away each time. Daehyun concluded she must have been the shy type.

"First things first," the woman said turning her attention back towards Daehyun. "Daehyun, it's alright if you call us by uncle and auntie. After all we're practically family now right?" Daehyun looked up towards his own mother and he saw her give him an encouraging nod, in turn he too nodded his head, acknowledging what Mrs. Lee just said.

"Oh lovely," Mrs. Lee smiled and turned her attention back towards his whole family. "Now let me introduce to you our beautiful daughter, little Mihe."

Daehyun had expected to finally meet the little girl who had caught his interest ever since he'd stepped outside, so his little round eyes rounded in surprise when Mrs. Lee introduced Mihe as the little baby girl in her arms. As the adults awed and cooed over the baby girl Daehyun couldn't help but notice the small girl standing behind her parents start giving small tugs onto her mom's skirt. Her small eyes looking up at her mom expectantly. Finally after a couple minutes did Mrs. Lee finally notice the slight tugs on her skirt.

"Wha- whats going on-" Mrs. Lee turned down to catch the eyes of her first daughter. "Oh Yoona! I almost forgot you were there. You're always so quiet." Turning her gaze back towards Daehyun and his family she stepped closer towards her husband to reveal her other daughter.

"Mr. and Mrs. Jung this is my oldest daughter Yoona." Hesitant, the little girl gave a small step forward. "Say hello Yoona." Mrs. Lee encouraged. Daehyun smoothed the non-existent creases in his shirt and flashed the brightest smile his six year old self could muster.

"H-hello." The little girl gave a small bow her hand gripped tightly onto her plush bear.

At this Daehyun began to giggle. He could already tell they were going to be good friends, if not than at least he would make an effort to try. Being an only child it got lonely at times and his parents could only spend so much time with him. Now that another kid around his age moved into his neighborhood he wouldn't let the chance to make a new friend pass.

The adults had gone back to talking quietly amongst themselves, leaving the children free to do what they wanted. As Yoona started to move back again Daehyun moved forward. His steps were confident and on his face he held a bright smile. Just as Yoona was about to make it back to the safety of her parents Daehyun planted his feet in front of her and outstretched his hand.

"Hello! I'm Daehyun. But you can call me Dae oppa or Hyun-hyun oppa or Daehyunnie oppa, whichever one you prefer. We're going to be the best of friends. I just know it. Nice to meet you!" Daehyun finished with an even larger smile than before, his eyes twinkling with the same emotions, hand still outstretched.

Yoona stood there wide eyed and mouth slightly agape. Several seconds passed before she managed to break out of her stunned state. The boy in front of her took her breath away and he seemed beautiful- both inside and out. This was the first time anybody had been so direct with her and the boy in front of her, apparently called Daehyun, seemed to genuinely want to be her friend. Yoona hesitantly reached her hand out and took a hold of the outstretched hand in front of her. The hand felt warm and comforting. A smile lit up her small features.

"Daehyunnie…oppa."

Screech!

The bus slowed to a stop as the driver reached his destination and Daehyun was jolted awake as he lurched forward in his seat. His head nearly face planting into the seat in front of him.

"Last call for this stop!" The bus driver in the front called out hand already on the lever for the door.

Daehyun was suddenly wide awake as he called out, "Wait! Wait! This is my stop."

He promptly exited the bus and was immediately greeted with the calming autumn breeze. Daehyun sighed softly and closed his eyes, allowing the light breeze to weave a path through his hair. Thoughts of earlier afternoon were pushed safely into the back of his head as he maneuvered his way through the crowded streets. With all efforts to contact Himchan in vain Daehyun figured there was one place left to go. He had a feeling that this wasn't the only place, but it was the best he could think of in such short notice.

"I didn't think I would be coming back here so soon." Daehyun stood anxiously in front of the familiar little building.

In his head he contemplated whether to head in or not. Eventually Daehyun approached the shop and pushed open the thin glass doors. The tiny tinkling of bells gave away his entrance as he poked his head through the entrance. Thankfully there didn't seem to be that many people around, but Daehyun felt his heart sink as he stepped further into the small shop.

"Hello! Welcome to Matoki Boba Shop!" A cheerful voice from the counter greeted him as he approached the counter. Daehyun glanced up and was surprised to find a rather tall, young looking boy in place behind the register.

"Can I get you anything?" The tall boy was grinning, blue-blond curls bouncing slightly as he showed his enthusiasm towards the new arrival. Daehyun found it a bit odd that the boy was wearing a bandana around his neck, but he was never big on fashion anyways. Placing his hands atop the counter space Daehyun tapped his fingers around anxiously before speaking.

"Um actually do you know where Yongguk is?" Daehyun shifted his eyes towards the back of the shop. "I need to ask him something."

The boy tilted his head in confusion. "Yongguk? Oh you mean manager hyung!" His eyes lit up with another smile. "Yeah, I know where he is. Did you want to talk to him?"

Daehyun scratched his head. "Ahh yeah. Can you get him for me?"

The boy nodded and Daehyun let out a sigh of relief. Expecting the boy to run off and find Yongguk Daehyun moved aside towards the wall and occupied himself with trying to get Himchan to answer his phone. He was so into it that he couldn't help but jump when his ears were suddenly met with a, "MANAGER HYUNG! SOMEBODY'S HERE TO SEE YOU!!"

Daehyun's phone almost slipped from his hands. The few customers around the shop seemed slightly startled at the loud voice as well. One man managed to choke on his drink and was currently thumping a hand against his chest trying to clear his airway. Before Daehyun could regain his composure a familiar voice floated up to his ears.

"Aish Zelo what did I say about calling me 'manager hyung'?" A slightly annoyed Yongguk made his way out from the back. "You know it makes me feel old. And what did I say about yelling in the store?"

"Heh heh oops." The said boy- apparently called Zelo- sheepishly rubbed the back of his head and gave a somewhat apologetic smile. Yongguk sighed and ruffled the boy’s hair. The smile on his face stating he was anything but upset.

"You said somebody was looking-" Yongguk’s voice was cut off as he spotted Daehyun standing in the corner, awkwardly fidgeting with the phone in his hands. Yongguk let his eyebrows crinkle slightly in question.

"Zelo I can take the counter now. Why don't you go in the back and make sure we're not running low on supplies."

"What? But we just ordered new supplies last we-" Yongguk shot him a look. "R-right! I'll be in the back..."

Yongguk flashed a small smile towards the direction Zelo skittered off in. He was thankful that he got the message so fast. Yongguk then turned his attention back towards the front. His eyes once again catching the fidgeting male in the corner.

"Daehyun right?" He called out, "It's nice to see you again." He smiled his signature smile.

Daehyun looked up with a small smile of his own and stepped closer. "Yeah. Nice to see you again too."

Yongguk nodded and went around to rearrange things behind the counter. "So Zelo called for me because apparently you wanted to talk to me?" Yongguk tilted his head towards Daehyun and the said boy nodded in response. "Well how can I help you then?" His smile was friendly as he placed both hands atop the counter and gently leaned forwards.

Daehyun didn't know if it was Yongguk's smile or his friendly tone, but somehow he found himself relaxing with every minute spent talking with the man in front of him. "Ahh yeah," Daehyun averted his eyes downward and rubbed the back of his head. "I was just wondering if you knew where Himchan hyung was. I'm kind of worried about him."

"What makes you say that?" Yongguk furrowed his eyebrows slightly.

Daehyun responded with a similar expression. "Well for one he ran out before morning class started today and he's not answering his phone even when I've called him about ten different times. That's not normal, especially for Himchan." A little frustrated Daehyun ran a hand through his hair. "I had a feeling something was wrong yesterday night when I called, but I didn't think much of it at the time."

Yongguk let Daehyun continue talking even when his own mind was already finding the answers to his questions.

"Now I have absolutely no idea where he could possibly be. And something's definitely up. I mean were best friends right? He knows that if something’s bothering him he should be able to come to me. I'd do the same for him. It should only be fair..." Daehyun rambled on spilling out some of the thoughts his mind had been mulling over for the past hour. Only when Yongguk let out a cough did he break out of his rant.

Daehyun pretended to clear his throat as realization dawned on what he had been doing. "Sorry. You barely even know Himchan and yet I'm blathering away to you." Letting out another cough Daehyun averted his eyes back to the phone in his hands.

Yongguk had to fight back a smile despite the current mood. Daehyun, I've known Himchan for longer than you think.

"But yeah anyways," Daehyun continued, "I was just wondering if you knew where he was...Or if he's told you anything?" Daehyun swallowed and felt his adam's apple bobbing up once and down. His mind suddenly bringing back the memories of the day they were back in this shop and Himchan had first introduced Yongguk to him. Yongguk clearly knew something that he didn't. What bothered him wasn't the fact that Yongguk knew first, in fact he had gotten over that fairly quickly. What bothered him was Himchan never brought the subject up again. If he wasn't even willing to tell his best friend than why go and tell a stranger he had only met a couple days ago? It didn't make sense in Daehyun's mind. His expression was hopeful as he waited for Yongguk's answer.

A sigh escaped Yongguk's lips as he stopped leaning over the counter and shook his head. As much as he knew already, Himchan's whereabouts were as much a mystery to him as they were to anybody else.

"I'm sorry Daehyun. But I'm not sure where he is. He didn't come by here either."

Daehyun could feel the hope fading from his features. "But if he does come by I can let you know." Yongguk continued in an attempt to make up for Daehyun’s fading hope. Daehyun continued to stare off blankly into space.

"Daehyun?" Yongguk waved a hand in front of Daehyun's dazed face.

"Oh. What?" Daehyun quickly snapped out of his trance and shook his head a little.

Yongguk paid no mind and continued on with a gentle smile. "I said if he does come by here I'll be sure to let you know. Alright?"

"Oh. Yeah I would appreciate that," Daehyun flashed a small smile. "Thanks."

With no more intention to stay in the shop Daehyun mumbled another 'thanks' and a hasty 'goodbye'. Then proceeded to make his way towards the door, only to stop in his tracks as he heard his name being called out from behind him.

"Daehyun!"

Daehyun turned his head around, whipping the rest of his body with it. Yongguk smiled from behind the counter and gave a small chuckle. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

Daehyun pursed his lips as he dug through his mind trying to come up with what he could have forgotten. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice Yongguk start to make his way out from behind the counter. As a result he couldn't help the small noise of surprise that escaped his mouth when he finally noticed Yongguk standing there in front of him.

The older man chuckled and gestured to the phone in Daehyun's hands.

Daehyun flashed a questionable look at the other. "What?"

"I can't contact you know if I don't have your number right?" The smile Yongguk had on was borderline teasing.

"Wha- Oh right!" Daehyun flushed a little as he handed over the small device. Yongguk tapped in a few numbers and seconds later a muffled vibration was heard from the front of his jean pocket. He handed Daehyun's phone back with a firm hand.

"There now we have each other’s numbers."

"Uh thanks Yongguk hy-" Daehyun stopped himself as he caught the playful glare from the other. "I-I mean thanks Yongguk."

With one last smile and a wave thrown over his shoulder Daehyun headed towards the thin glass doors and proceeded to make his way back through the crowded streets. He glanced down at the blank screen of his phone and inwardly sighed. Two hours later and he still had no idea where Himchan possibly was.

Some best friend I am.

Daehyun looked around through the crowded streets and figured he wasn't going to find Himchan by just standing there. So with a steady goal in mind he set off again in search of a certain black haired male.

~*~

Sometime later after Daehyun was gone Yongguk was pacing uneasily around his small shop. With both hands crossed behind his back and his lips set at a firm line it was obvious to say that something was bothering the tall male. The minute Daehyun walked out his doors Yongguk dropped his cheery facade. Although he told Daehyun he had no idea where Himchan was in the depths of his mind he had an idea of what could possibly be going on with the younger male. His ears were suddenly met with the sound of tinkling bells as the doors to his shop were swung open. Yongguk stopped pacing long enough to greet the new customers. His expression was one of cheeriness as he smiled and took orders, but even work wasn't enough to keep his mind from worrying.

Yesterday had thrown the both of them for a loop and it was definitely something he never expected to happen. Yongguk gave an automatic wave and smile as he handed out orders. Who they had seen yesterday had definitely stirred up an emotional turmoil for them both. Himchan especially. Yongguk frowned; he figured Himchan had finally healed from the incident. However Himchan's reaction yesterday only proved just how fragile he still was.

The memories weren't gone. They were only buried and hidden deep within his mind. The only reason why they were brought up again was because of who they saw yesterday. The mysterious auburn haired boy. Who was he and where was he from? What was his relation to Daehyun? The mysterious boy bore such a striking resemblance to--No. It couldn't be. Could it? Yongguk didn't even notice he was clenching his hands until he felt a sudden sting in his palms from the force of his nails. Slowly he let them unravel as he thought back to the conversation he had with Daehyun.

Suddenly his eyes widened in realization.

"Zelo!" Yongguk called back. There was a sense of urgency within his voice. Almost immediately a fringe of bluish blond hair could be seen running out from the back of the shop. Zelo made his way over to where Yongguk was standing and as if sensing Yongguk's urgency didn't question the older male’s frantic tone.

"There's something I need to do. Can I trust you to run the shop for the rest of today?"

Zelo nodded. "Sure hyung. You can count on me!" He gave a little pump of his fist.

Yongguk didn't even bother correcting Zelo this time as he untied his apron and hung it in the back of the shop. He hurried back towards the front grabbing a few of his belongings from behind the counter. As he was scooting around the tables Zelo came up to him and lightly grabbed onto his arm. Yongguk turned to meet the slightly anxious eyes of his shop assistant.

"Is it Himchan hyung?" The younger boy spoke in a rather hushed voice; however the intensity of his gaze revealed his true feelings.

Yongguk gave a slight nod. He didn't need words as his current expression gave away everything.

He wasn't surprised that Zelo caught onto his situation. He had always been an intuitive boy from Yongguk's perspective. Zelo nodded and let a hint of a smile spread over his face before he let go of Yongguk's arm and stepped back behind the counter.

"Bring him back okay?" Zelo's voice was encouraging as Yongguk threw quick nod over his shoulder and was out the door only seconds later. The crisp autumn air surrounded him as he began to crisscross his way through the people on the street. Yongguk knew that Himchan wouldn't be picking up his phone anytime soon, but that didn't stop him from trying to dial the other's number anyways.

The person you are trying to reach currently has a full mailbox. Please tr--

Yongguk shook his head in frustration and very nearly ran into a man in the middle of the sidewalk. After quickly apologizing he came to a stop in front of a busy four-way intersection. People and cars moved hastily left and right. The sight of several cars disobeying common traffic rules should have made Yongguk more cautious as he searched. It only made him move his legs faster as he tried not to let his mind get too far ahead of itself.

He prayed he would find Himchan soon.

~*~

"Excuse me, but have you possibly seen a guy about this tall with choppy black hair?"

Daehyun lost track of how many times in the past hour he asked that question and received nothing but weird stares in return. Every few people or so would have the decency give him a proper answer, but most either ignored his question or they were internally judging him. Daehyun was starting to wonder if he was ever going to find the elusive male. Then again Himchan could have been anywhere. It was essentially like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Mentally worn and frustrated Daehyun figured that if something was really wrong than Himchan would no doubt come talk to him. Putting his faith in the trust he had in the older male Daehyun decided to call it a day and head home. He'd spent enough time worrying over Himchan and all that stress was definitely not good for his system. Plus with all that calling on his phone he was left with barely any battery left in the small device.

Himchan the things you put me through.

Daehyun shook his head and mentally grumbled to himself.

You better be alright or else I'm personally going to kick your the next time I see you.

Despite his harsh grumblings his actions of the past couple hours proved what he thought otherwise. Daehyun stopped walking and blew out a breath of air. His breath forming a small cloud before disappearing into the afternoon sky. He tugged his jacket closer and shoved his hands into his pockets. Moving along with the crowd Daehyun figured he would get back to his bus soon enough. The bus wasn't coming for another 30 minutes anyways.

A sudden gust of wind blew by him and Daehyun was able to catch fleeting glimpses of familiar red, yellow, and orange. He let a smile cross his lips. He was beginning to grow fond of those colors. Red, yellow, and orange meant autumn and autumn meant trees, leaves, and more leaves. This ultimately left Daehyun thinking about the small little park where he developed more than a one time crush for a certain auburn haired boy.

Daehyun let out a chuckle. Youngjae really was something else.

As Daehyun continued walking his mind was thinking back on Youngjae over the past few days and he wondered what the younger was up to now. Then, out of nowhere, it hit him. In fact Daehyun stopped dead in the middle of the sidewalk forcing the people behind him to move around him. Some shot annoyed glances at the boy, wondering why anybody in the right mind would stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk. But Daehyun was paying no heed to their judging glares. At that moment the realization hit him faster than a truck.

Daehyun felt his heart beat faster. His palms were getting damp. And butterflies seemed to magically appear in his stomach. The fluttering feeling made him want to do less than appealing things. Daehyun ran a hand through his hair and groaned out loud, clenching his teeth in the process. Out of all the things that could have gone wrong today.

He forgot to meet Youngjae in the park.

Too caught up in trying to locate his still missing best friend Daehyun had completely forgotten about the younger auburn haired boy waiting for him. Well maybe not completely forgotten, but Daehyun would admit that for the last couple hours Youngjae was placed completely in the back of his head. Daehyun swallowed and his throat constricted at the action. He could just imagine Youngjae's confused and hurt face as he sat there and that made Daehyun pull out his phone faster to check the time. It was late afternoon. Daehyun clenched his phone and mentally hoped that Youngjae somehow in some way was still there and he hoped that the other didn't think he was being ditched.

Not a second later Daehyun took off spiriting. Until he realized there was one problem. He had no idea how to get to the park from his current location. It took Daehyun a couple seconds to realize that he was essentially running blind and as a result almost slammed into a light pole because he wasn't paying attention.

Himchan hyung would never let me live that down.

Slightly dazed and definitely frustrated Daehyun willed himself to calm down and take breaths. How did he get to the park before? The first time had been by pure accident, the second by luck, but the third? His eyes literally lit up at the third thought and he took off running again, the wind whipping his hair behind him. Finally he came to where he wanted to be. Panting heavily Daehyun allowed himself a minute or two to catch his breath before he took off again. In front of him the neon signs of the local supermarket flashed in his face. His eyes also caught sight of the bright yellow bus stop a few feet away. There were already people waiting for the bus and he would have been one of them, if not for him remembering his so called 'date' this afternoon.

From before Daehyun remembered getting directions here from a kindly elderly lady, much to his embarrassment. He never liked asking other people for help, preferring to rely on his own strength to get things done. He found it worked out better that way. This was a habit Himchan tried to get him to break multiple times. The older male always telling him that he needed to branch out more and not just stay confined in his own little bubble of self-assurance. He always remembered Himchan saying, "You never know what life's going to throw at you. You never know if today's going to be your last day or if tomorrow is, either way why spend it all cooped up inside? When outside is always much more fun."

Daehyun gave a chuckle at the memory. Himchan was definitely also one of a kind. He was starting to believe that the people in his life were all extreme in one way or another. Maybe not Yongguk, but then again he couldn't judge yet. It also explained why Himchan always seemed to have boundless energy, not physically, but mentally. Daehyun swore that boy was a little too happy sometimes. His mind jumped back to earlier that morning and his smile slowly drooped away. Well only sometimes right?

A sudden honk of a car brought Daehyun out of his daydream. Panicking Daehyun didn't want to pull out his phone and check exactly how long he stood there in a daze. Without a second thought the brunette took off running towards the park. Thankfully the directions the elderly lady gave him were easy to remember. The entire time he was mentally crossing his fingers, hoping that Youngjae would still be there and before he knew it his ears met with the crunching of leaves and his eyes once again found the small, but strangely beautiful little park as unchanged as ever.

Daehyun almost let out a laugh of relief as he arrived, but then quickly remembered why he had come in the first place. So far Daehyun hadn't lifted his eyes to scan the few benches that littered the park. To say he was worried would be an understatement. Daehyun swallowed and felt his throat constrict at the action. His adams apple bobbed up and down, till at last Daehyun plucked up the courage to peak one eye over to the direction of the benches. His eye flitted over the benches one by one and so far with the exception of a woman sitting in one- they were empty. With each passing bench Daehyun felt his heart deflate inch by inch. Then again what was he expecting? He was more than just an hour late and he would have left too if he had been in Youngjae's position.

As Daehyun neared the last bench he had to admit he didn't have much hopes of Youngjae being there, but he still held his breath. A small part of him clung onto the hope. At last Daehyun's eyes reached the last little bench in the park. Fortunatly for him he wasn't holding anything in his hand because it surely would have ended up clattering against the leaf covered ground. He swore for a minute his heart stopped beating and the second after that it was filled with unspeakable joy.

There, against the dark oak of the wooden bench, sat a boy with brightly colored auburn hair. He had little white ear buds in his ears and was lightly swaying his head in time with whatever song he was listening to. He was writing in a small journal, his gaze focused solely on the object in front of him. Daehyun didn't know whether to laugh with relief or burden himself with guilt. Either way he couldn't help the small sense of déjà vu that appeared as Daehyun caught sight of the quiet boy on the bench. This time though they were far from random strangers meeting in a park as Daehyun chose to disregard the latter feeling and let a wave of relief wash over him. Deciding that the happiness he felt from seeing the boy overwhelmed everything else he was feeling.

Without another thought and a grin plastered plainly on his face Daehyun made his way over to the still oblivious boy. When Daehyun was just a few feet away an idea popped up into his head. Since Youngjae obviously had not caught onto his presence yet Daehyun decided to make his appearance a little more interesting. With careful steps Daehyun slowly turned and made his way around the bench, careful to avoid crunching on any leaves. He fought to keep in his snickers. Youngjae's going to be so surprised.

As he neared the bench he slowly crouched behind the younger. In a flash Daehyun ripped out the white earphones from Youngjae's ears and moved his hands to quickly cover the other's eyes.

"Guess who?" He sang teasingly.

Daehyun felt the other stiffen and gasp, but thought nothing of it as he fought to keep his laughter in. Surely Youngjae knew it was him, after all he had a very distinctive voice. With these thoughts he didn't expect the younger to suddenly struggle against his hands and make an attempt to practically rip them off. It sounded like Youngjae was hyperventilating. His quick, uneven breaths becoming more prominent the longer Daehyun kept his hands over his eyes. Out of reflex Daehyun automatically dropped his hands and Youngjae bolted out of his seat immediately putting his earphones back on again. Daehyun quickly straightened up and gave the other a worried look. His eyes reflecting back Youngjae's petrified gaze.

"Youngjae, what's wrong?" His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Youngjae seemed to visibly calm down as soon as he saw who it was behind him. He placed a hand on his chest slowly felt his heart beat at a normal pace again. Then Youngjae froze as he realized how he'd reacted. Large chocolate eyes went wide as they slowly rose from their gaze on the ground and focused on the person in front of them. Youngjae gulped and quickly averted his gaze when he saw Daehyun's utterly confused expression and although he would never admit it Daehyun looked utterly adorable with a slight pout in his lips. He was scared what he would have to face when he looked back up.

Daehyun, unaware of his pout, frowned some more as he wondered why Youngjae was acting like this. He made his way out from behind the bench and called Youngjae's name again.

No response.

The other was refusing to meet his gaze as his fingers unconsciously fiddled with the thin wire connecting his earphones to his iPod. Then it hit him as Daehyun realized what caused the younger's current behavior towards him. At this Daehyun sighed guiltily and rubbed his neck in contemplation.

He's mad because I'm late huh. Well I don't blame him. I would be mad too.

The other boy was still standing in front of him and fiddling with his headphones. Daehyun decided to take a couple more steps forward. "Uhh hey Youngjae." He spoke with a light smile.

Youngjae still kept his gaze down, until Daehyun finally reached the spot where he stood and lightly poked his cheek with a finger. The said boy jumped with a start, eyes wide and mouth slightly gaping. Daehyun just chuckled and gave a meek wave in response, showing off his best 'puppy' face. He was hoping the other would finally respond. Youngjae seemed to give in and cracked a small smile. He lightly swatted Daehyun's hand away from his face, rolling his eyes in the process. Daehyun laughed in relief that Youngjae didn't seem to be mad at him and resumed their playful exchange.

A few more minutes of playful poking went on and most, surprisingly, were from Youngjae. Apparently Daehyun was extremely sensitive on his sides so the younger boy was quick to take advantage of that.

After a few experimental pokes, he was quick to beg for mercy, "Y-yah!! Alright, I g-get it. S-stop! Stop!" Youngjae paid no heed and continued his assault.

"Y-y-yah Y-youngjae!!"

Daehyun tried in vain to protect his ticklish sides. Their laughter could be heard throughout the park until Daehyun literally collapsed onto the ground due to loss of breath. Leave it to Youngjae to actually tickle him to exhaustion. Youngjae laughed louder when Daehyun fell in front of him. He seemed to blend in perfectly with the fall scenery under them, even if blue jeans didn't match color scheme of the park, Youngjae thought he looked perfect lying there.

After finally catching his breath Daehyun peeked one eye open and was surprised to see Youngjae walking towards him. Another idea crept into his mind and he gave a mischievous grin. Aha! Payback time!

Youngjae reached the spot where Daehyun laid and decided to help the poor boy up, considering he was the reason Daehyun was on the ground. Daehyun kept his back towards the clueless boy and out of the corner of his eyes he saw Youngjae bend down. In a flash he sprung up and grabbed a very surprised Youngjae around the waist and tried to pull him down towards the ground. Youngjae got over the initial shock almost instantly and started squirming in Daehyun's hold. He shot the other a look that was a mix of disbelief and annoyance. Daehyun let out a laugh and tightened his hold around the other's waist pulling Youngjae down onto the ground with him.The two fell into a collage of autumn leaves.

Daehyun let out another laugh. "Payback." He sang.

Youngjae eventually stopped struggling and just gave in to Daehyun's hold around him. He rolled his eyes and lightly smacked the older boy on the shoulder, the leaves around him crinkling at the action. Daehyun was still grinning brightly, proud of his small trick. They lay there for another few minutes or so. Daehyun listening to the even breaths Youngjae took and getting used to the feel of Youngjae in his arms. Youngjae shifted a little, so his head was tucked neatly next to the older boy’s, his eyes having a full view of the other’s full lips.

Daehyun’s breath hitched at the action. He literally stopped breathing for a moment or two, afraid any small movement would cause the younger to pull out of his arms. This was probably the closest Daehyun had ever been to anybody and usually he was one to avoid skin ship, unless it was between Himchan and him. So the fact that he was practically holding a stranger in his arms right now should have never happened. Yet Youngjae didn’t feel like a stranger. He felt like so much more. He felt right and he was warm.

Daehyun was about to close his eyes and just let himself get lost in the moment, until he realized what position they were in. He felt his cheeks go hot at the realization. His arms were still around Youngjae's waist and their legs were intertwined- a result of Youngjae's struggling. And perhaps most embarrassing of all- Youngjae was facing him, a hand on his chest, and his face only inches away. Daehyun could literally feel the other's light breath brush against his face. His scent was almost dizzying. Daehyun was starting to get lightheaded as they continued to lay there. He gulped and unconsciously his lips. There he was lying right there in his arms. His gaze fell upon Youngjae's full, rose petal lips. They were as smooth and soft looking as ever and Daehyun suddenly felt the urge to see what those lips would feel like pressed up against his own.

He slowly leaned in. Closer. Closer. Until...

A sharp bark from a nearby dog broke Daehyun out of his trance. The said boy blinked a couple times and suddenly froze as he realized what he was about to do. He glanced down at Youngjae's face and found the quiet boy with his eyes tightly closed. Any other time Daehyun would have found Youngjae's scrunched up face completely adorable, but he was too mortified to even think properly. Shocked, Daehyun quickly untangled himself from the younger boy and scrambled up. His face burned in embarrassment. What did I just try to do?

Daehyun heard the leaves rustle behind him and figured Youngjae was getting up.

"U-uhh Youngjae, about what happened..." Daehyun rubbed the back of his head and turned around slowly.

He was expecting a glare or a look of shock, what he didn't expect was the younger boy to still be on ground curled up comfortably amongst the leaves with his arms tucked in cutely by his chest.

"Um Youngjae?" Confused Daehyun ventured closer and peered over the other's shoulder. Youngjae's eyes were still closed and his lips were parted just enough to allow soft breaths to escape. Daehyun noted the dark circles just barely visible below the younger’s eyes and he wondered what could have possibly cost the younger his sleep. Despite the dark shadows Daehyun couldn't deny how peaceful Youngjae looked at the moment and he almost let out a chuckle. He really fell asleep on me. Weird boy.

Opting for a soft smile instead Daehyun contented himself with simply watching the younger boy. Observing how the other's chest rose and fell evenly and how the soft fringe of the other's hair draped over his eyes. Daehyun resisted the urge to run his hand through the seemingly feathery locks and settled for sweeping Youngjae's bangs back away from his eyes. Despite how utterly adorable he thought Youngjae looked sleeping there he figured he should wake the other up soon. As much as he longed to watch Youngjae sleep longer, which wasn't creepy at all, falling asleep on the ground, much less in a public park, wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do.

"Youngjae. Youngjae." Daehyun spoke softly. "Time to wake up sleepy head."

He lightly shook Youngjae's shoulder until he felt the other start to stir. Youngjae eventually sat up and rubbed his eyes groggily. The younger boy stretched and ran a hand through his hair as he turned his head this way and that trying to make out his surroundings. Daehyun fought the urge to scoop the younger boy up and cuddle him. A sleepy Youngjae was definitely an adorable Youngjae. There were bits of leaves and grass stuck in Youngjae's hair that were still oblivious to the sleepy boy so Daehyun reached out a hand to lightly brush away the unwanted debris. His fingertips feeling the soft tips of Youngjae's auburn hair.

"Who falls asleep in a park?" Daehyun chuckled. "Weird boy."

It wasn't until Youngjae felt gentle hands brushing against his hair did he finally come to realize where he was. His eyes met with Daehyun's soft smile and gentle gaze and he swore they nearly popped out of their sockets. Pushing Daehyun's hand away from his head Youngjae nearly tripped scrambling up and running back towards the bench. The younger boy sat and looked away in embarrassment. Daehyun was a bit stunned at how fast Youngjae had gotten up, but only smiled and let out a laugh in response.

"Are you finally awake Youngjae?" He laughed as he made his way over to their bench. Daehyun only received a small glare in response and observed how Youngjae had gotten out his pad of sticky notes and was currently writing his answer. Once he was done Youngjae reached out and quite literally slapped the note onto Daehyun's arm and looked away with arms crossed and lips at an obvious pout. Daehyun rolled his eyes and plucked the note off his arm to read what it said.

You jerk. You woke me up.

"Well what else did you want me to do?" Daehyun laughed. "Leave you here sleeping in the middle of a park?"

Youngjae looked back for a quick moment before scribbling down another note.

I was having such a nice dream too...

"Mmhm..." Daehyun raised his eyebrows in amusement. "And the thanks I get for not leaving you is once again ignored."

Youngjae uncrossed his arms and rolled his eyes with a slight smile, sticking his tongue out in the process.

Meanie.

Daehyun smiled and resisted the urge to go and pinch Youngjae’s cheeks. Instead he chose to move towards the bench and plopped down right next to the shorter male.

"Everyone's a critic." He mockingly complained, blowing a puff of air up into his bangs. However, the smile on his face showed he was anything but annoyed. Youngjae smiled back and continued with his teasing.

Plus you're late.

Which makes you a double jerk.

Jerk Squared.

Daehyun nearly burst out laughing at the consecutive notes the younger slapped into his lap. He glanced over and found Youngjae fighting desperately to keep a smile off his face. He was fighting a losing battle.

Deciding to play along Daehyun uncrossed his arms and gave a quick poke to Youngjae's side, satisfied with the small yelp the other gave. "Need I remind you who practically tickled me to death earlier?"

Youngjae looked away innocently, although a snicker managed to sneak its way out of his lips.

"Yeah didn't think so." Daehyun reached over to give the other a light thump on the head, completely missing the way Youngjae's cheeks suddenly filled with color as he moved his hand away. Daehyun sat back and pretended to be angry at the earlier tickle attack.

The two fell into a comfortable silence as the teasing came to an end. Daehyun sat up straighter and took the time to discretely try and see what Youngjae was doing. Youngjae had gotten up and retrieved his notebook from the pile of leaves it had landed on. He lightly dusted off the bits of leaves and dirt that managed to make their way onto the books worn pages. Sitting down again next to Daehyun he laid the small book in his lap and placed his pad of purple sticky notes on top.

You never explained to me why you were late.

Daehyun forgot that he was supposed to be 'angry' and looked up. As he fiddled with his fingers he voiced out an "Umm..." and his lips.

He contemplated on how much he should say about his situation with Himchan right now. On another note Daehyun didn't even notice that this whole time Youngjae had been using sticky notes to talk to him and he had been responding normally to each one. It was kind of like their normal way of communication now. As Daehyun thought about what to say Youngjae let out a light laugh and held out his pad of sticky notes and pen. A signal for him to write his response.

Daehyun gave a knowing smile and accepted the familiar items.

You really want to know why?

Youngjae glanced down and nodded.

One word: My idiotic best friend.

Daehyun placed down the piece of paper with a long sigh, leaving the blank pad of sticky notes alongside it so Youngjae could write his response. Youngjae chuckled a little, but kept his composure.

Technically that's four words.

Daehyun rolled his eyes. "You know what I mean."

Youngjae looked away with a playful expression, but not before leaving another note.

Anyways care to elaborate? What exactly does your best friend have to do with you being late?

Extremely late I may add.

Daehyun leaned back and ran a weary hand through his hair, temporarily mussing the brown strands. Just thinking about Himchan again had him wondering where the older male was at the moment and if he was alright for that matter. Daehyun glanced away before answering Youngjae's unspoken question.

"Long story short he's currently being a and not telling me where the heck he is right now even when his best friend just spent the whole afternoon worrying and looking for him." Daehyun muttered.

He was too distracted to even write down his response, in the end his answer just came tumbling out. Youngjae nodded and squeezed his lips together. His hands fiddling with the binding of his small notebook. Daehyun noticed the lack of sticky notes appearing in front of him and immediately turned his gaze back besides him. He noticed the pad of notes were left untouched still in the middle between the two of them and Youngjae was busy fiddling with his notebook, absentmindedly flipping through the pages.

"Youngjae? Is something wrong?"

Youngjae immediately looked up and flashed a small smile, shaking his head in the process.

No nothing's wrong.

Daehyun tilted his head questioningly. "Then why-"

It's not my business to pry. I prefer to let people decide whether they want to say things to me or not.

What happened between you and your friend today is none of my business, but if you want to tell me I'm all ears.

Youngjae's hands wavered slightly when he placed down his second sticky note, but sat back with a firm smile and nod nonetheless. As Daehyun read the note a smile naturally found its way onto his lips. He looked back up at Youngjae with a mix of awe and gratefulness. He was right. Youngjae was definitely something else.

"Youngjae," Daehyun spoke as he met with Youngjae's curious eyes. "Thank you." Youngjae tilted his head.

Why are you thanking me?

Daehyun flashed a quick smile and turned away. "Just because."

Youngjae leaned back and narrowed his eyes playfully. He seemed suspicious of Daehyun's answer as if there were some strange double meaning in those words, but in the end he gave up trying to figure it out and just reponded with a nod. If Daehyun wanted to talk in riddles that was fine. Two could play at that game. A small smirk played across Youngjae's lips as his thoughts traveled down a certain path and it unfortunalty went unoticed for the boy sitting besides him.

Daehyun was busy enjoying the mere feeling of not having to worry about his best friend- at least for the moment. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply. He inhaled the earthy scent of decaying fallen leaves mixed with the slight scent of car exhaust fumes from the streets surrounding them. The sights and scents of the park were enough to make him feel as if they were in their own little bubble- sealed away from the world. But once in a while the sound of a passing a car or bus would come and break that illusion. It wasn't a big deal though becuase Daehyun figured a few moments spent away from the world were better than none at all. He re-opened his eyes and snuck a glance over to the auburn haired boy seated besides him. His lips formed a small smile.

And every moment spent with the boy besides him was definitely worth every second, minute, and hour he had to offer.

The sound of crinkling paper caught Daehyun's attenion as he glanced over. He found Youngjae flipping through the pages in his small journal, sometimes picking up his pen and adding a few words here and there. Daehyun's raised his eyebrows and leaned over curious to see what the younger was writing about. Somewhere in his mind Daehyun dug up the faint memory from their first meeting and remembered that Youngjae had the same exact book in his hands. His eyes landed on the current page Youngjae was on. Daehyun glanced up at the other and found him completely engrossed in whatever he was writing about. Now burning with curiosity Daehyun scooted even closer and snuck a peek at the words written on the page.

His eyes scanned over the faded white pages and caught a few words and phrases in the process.

I  fall asleep to the words in my head with all the hope I've locked inside.

There is something I've been dying to tell you...

Daehyun furrowed his eyebrows in question. The phrases he read- they sounded an awful lot like song lyrics. Well at least to him. Being a lyricist himself he could tell the subtle difference between regular writing and song writing and what he saw looked a lot like the words to a song. But Youngjae never mentioned anything about him being interested in music, much less interested in singing and composing music. Then again they have only known each other for a couple days. Before Daehyun had a chance to read more he found his vision blocked by an all too familiar piece of purple paper. He plucked it off and read over it.

You know it's not nice to read other people's things without permission.

Daehyun blinked and looked up to find Youngjae giving him a very amused expression, eyebrows raised and clearly looking for an explanation. He sctratched his head and gave the other a sheepish smile.

"Sorry, I couldn't help it." Daehyun stated. "You always have that journal with you and I got curious."

A smile played around the corners of Youngjae's lips as he responded with a slight shake of his head and Daehyun knew he was off the hook. Deciding to sate his curiosity Daehyun scooted even closer so that their shoulders were pratically touching.

"So, you never told me you wrote songs." Daehyun questioned in an attempt to find out more about the other. Youngjae gave a light sigh.

Who said I wrote songs?

Daehyun nodded his head towards the journal, a small smile forming on his lips. Youngjae blushed and hasitly wrote a reply.

I never said that was a song.

"Well from the way your reacting right now I would say that I'm right and you were writing a song." Daehyun gave a knowing smile as Youngjae ducked his head. Aha caught.

"Well I for one think that's great." He gave a nudge to Youngjae's shoulder. "You know I write songs too or well at least I attempt to." He chuckled and scratched his head. Youngjae blinked and looked up.

Daehyun continued. "Yup, actually my major is in song writing and" Daehyun hesitated slightly. "And well people also say I have a great voice, but you know." He leaned his head back and smiled. Youngjae poked him in the side and while Daehyun jumped from the feeling he placed another note down.

Thanks.

Suddenly another idea popped up into Daehyun's mind. "Wait does that mean you sing too?" The excitement in his voice was hard to miss. Youngjae's eyes widened considerebly before he furiously shook his head back and forth indicating his response. But Daehyun wasn't one to give up easily.

"Aw come on. Don't tell me you write songs, but don't sing them? You look like someone who loves to sing. Am I right?" Daehyun's probing eyes were surprisingly convincing as Youngjae gave a very small and hesitant nod of his head.

"Ahh so I was right. See? I can always tell when somebody loves music and when they love to sing. Nobody writes lyrics for nothing you know. The same goes for me..."

As Daehyun rambled on, clearly excited to find out something they both had in common, Youngjae looked on and slowly found himself smiling at his weird habits, until Daehyun turned and asked him a very specific question.

"Do you...think you could show me?" Daehyun asked slowly. To say he was curious about Youngjae's singing was an understatement. But his curiosity changed when he suddenly saw something flash across Youngjae's eyes. Was that pain? Longing? He couldn't tell. The other lowered his head.

Sorry Daehyun. I get really nervous singing in front of people.

Daehyun pouted slightly, but didn't push the other any furthur. This led him to address another question that had been lingering in the back of his head. "Is this part of the reason why you don't talk?"

Youngjae allowed himself a tiny smile.

Somewhat...but it's a little more complicated than that.

"You know since we first I have yet to hear your voice. Is it because I'm so beautiful that your just stunned into silence?" Daehyun joked playfully, although he understood what the other meant- somewhat. This caused Youngjae to roll his eyes and smack him on the shoulder lightly.

You're so full of yourself you know that?

Daehyun put a hand to his chest and gasped, his facial expression feigning a look of hurt. "I am not full of it. Just self confident. There's a difference."

He usually was never this playful, but he felt Youngjae's distress when he asked his question and decided that a little playful joking wouldn't hurt. If Youngjae was insecure about his voice than he would respect that.

The two stopped their giggling and Daehyun spoke in a more serious tone. "But I hope one day you'll be able to talk to me." He gave a gentle smile. "I'm positive you have a beautiful voice."

Youngjae looked up and smiled. Daehyun saw the hope in his eyes and realized the younger had similar thoughts as he did. He smiled in response.

"And when you do we should sing a song together." Daehyun glanced over and gave the other a wink.

He knew it was a stretch, but hey he figured why not. Youngjae's eyes widened in response before he let out a beautiful laugh- a sound that was fast becoming one of Daehyun's favorite things to hear.

One can dream right?

Daehyun gave a light roll of his eyes, but decided to let the matter drop. One day he would get Youngjae to sing with him. He was sure of it as he mentally added to his already overflowing list of to-do's. One day he would have the boy sitting besides him talk. He didn't know how long Youngjae had been going without talking, but- he glanced over at the auburn haired boy besides him and his eyes softened- he knew one thing for sure.

That would come to change very soon.
