Kim Kibum, who goes by Key, is your average intellectual and intelligent high school genius. He was forced against his own will by his parents to attend a high-class and well known institute for the gifted. Immediately upon arrival, he is introduced to the most popular, arrogant, and spoiled three boys of the school: Kim Jonghyun, Choi Minho, and Lee Onew. Key tries everything to avoid any possible confrontation with these boys, for it is bound to only raise conflictions. However, when Key's new friend, Lee Taemin, gets into an incident unaccounted for with the three flower boys of SM Institute, Key is forced to declare a rivalry against the leader of the school, Kim Jonghyun. What will happen though, when Key starts to fall in love with the cool, popular, and school bad-boy Jonghyun? Will these newly developed feelings sever the ties of friendship? Are such feelings capable of making unexpected changes in the lives of the five students?
