“Hey, are you listening to me?”

“What’s the matter with you? I thought I made it clear that I am not interested in having a relationship other than friendship with you.”

“Look, I really don’t care if you’re gay, I have nothing against homouality, but the fact that you have feelings for me…It feels wrong. I don’t like it. It’s one thing to be your friend, but it’s an entire other story if you’re in love with me and having fantasies about me in your head. Maybe we should spend some time apart – God that sounds so wrong like I’m breaking up with you! You know what? Just leave me alone, Changsun. Just stay away from me.”

“Changsun, are you alright?” Cheolyong said concernedly, placing a hand on his friend’s shoulder. Changsun looked away from the window startled and gasped softly before realizing where he was and what was going on. They were in biology class and he’d let his thoughts drift away; apparently Cheolyong had been trying to get his attention for a few seconds now.

“Sorry, I was just daydreaming,” Changsun said, rubbing his eyes tiredly. Sleep had been evading him the past few nights. Bad dreams were plaguing his mind and apparently now they were plaguing his day dreams too. “What’s up, Cheolyong?”

Cheolyong stared at him uncertainly for a second before shaking his head, pushing the concern out of his mind. “Nothing really, I was just wandering what you were thinking about. You seemed sort of melancholic and sullen staring out the window like that,” He said, shrugging his shoulders.

“Melancholic, sullen? Someone’s been paying attention in English class. Look at you, using fancy adjectives,” Changsun answered with a smile, playfully nudging his friend’s side; Cheolyong lit up at the praise.

“Ha! See? I can sound intelligent too! And here everyone thinks I’m brainless,” He said, feeling proud of himself for putting knowledge to good use. Of course, he felt so much more confident about learning thanks to all the help Changsun gave him.
