Action!
Super Junior SPYWe were sitting around for a while chatting about the scenes in the film and trying to act it out ourselves with deep, manly voices. I couldn’t help laughing at how silly we sounded. Just after we got ourselves together after a few more chuckles, two older, more professional women entered with a clothes rack. We greeted each other but they went straight on to talking about designs with Suzi. I thought it would be a good time to check my list again and found out that only a few members were coming in today.
The loud talking from down the hall was getting closer and when it reached us I got up, bottles in hand, ready to hand them out. Four members slowly shuffled through the door one after the other. Donghae was first followed by Ryeowook and Siwon and then Kangin. While they were in there, each took it in turns to have their costumes put on and I helped Suzi with the make-up. It didn’t take long but we still had to hurry as I needed to take them down to the set. I called each of them up and inspected them to see if their whole costumes were correct. It felt slightly awkward staring at them while they were looking down at me but I couldn’t help being small. I pulled at Suzi to come down with us, she jolted but then gathered her bags, and we were now ready to go.
I opened the last door and peered through to see if anyone was around.
“Why don’t you just walk through” a voice behind me called, poking me in the back. “Don’t feel nervous, the director’s not too scary”. I turned sharply to see Siwon’s face grinning. He patted my head and walked off to a few men standing around a camera, the other three followed. Suzi and I found chairs to sit on and both of us watched intently. The set was made to look like a meeting room with a large round table in the centre, cupboards and paintings lining the walls. The actors took their seats around the table and we were all told to be silent throughout takes.
“Action!” the director called. The scene started slowly with a few mistakes but their laughter made it funny to watch. They were all very good at portraying their character and I could tell straight away who they were meant to be. Siwon then had to deliver an exciting and interesting speech about how he must save the world and protect everyone. I was on the edge of my seat getting really into it but noticed something rather strange. He was staring at me the whole way through, not lifting his eyes from me but being fixed. I then lost my eye contact shaking my head and looking around to see if anyone else had noticed. Everyone was concentrating on this brilliant performance but I had so many thoughts running through my head. Maybe Siwon wasn’t staring at me but at the wall behind me, maybe he just needed a focus point and I was at the right angle. However, even after the director shouted cut, he kept peering over at me.
