10 YEARS AGO

"But,, eomma, I'm scared" A little girl cried.

"Don't worry. You'll do fine." She replied.

After this, it's going to be my turn going on stage.

Eomma said I should try the talent audition by singing. She's always said my voice is beautiful. Yet, i still don't believe it.

"Come on Megan, I know you can do it. If you do it, I'll buy you the big teddy bear you've always dreamed of," she said.

Hearing about the teddy bear, I eagerly nodded and told her i'd try.

"I'll go and buy it now ok? Do your best!" she said.

"Ok eomma!! I'll do my best! Fighting!" I waved her goodbye as she walked out of the backstage door.

"Next is..." The announcer announced, "Megan Lee!" I walked out and stood in front of so many people.

I closed my eyes and imagined my eomma's face.

The music started and lyrics flowed out of my mouth.

As i sang, I slowly opened my eyes to see so many people watching in awe. I began to smile.

Suddenly, "STOP! STOP! STOP THE AUDITION!"

I stopped singing and saw one of my teacher coming towards me with a worried face.

The judges widened their eyes because of the sudden stop.

My teacher held my shoulders and looked me in the eye.

"Come with me.. I hope you can be patient." I began to worry because her eyes were watery. I knew something bad had happened.

I walked out of the school and saw a traffic jam.

An accident.

I saw eomma's car upside down. Ambulances and firetrucks were surrounding the car.

I ran to see what happened.

'No... no... it can't be.'

My eyes began to water as i saw a body laying on the ground. I rushed next to the body who I recognize as Eomma.

Tears rushed down my cheeks.

"EOMMA! EOMMA!! DON'T LEAVE ME!!"

I cried beside the lifeless body of my eomma.

Don't die... I need you..

Something was lying beside her. I held it up.

It's the teddy bear that i dreamed of. She actually bought it.

I looked at her face and threw away the teddy bear.

"Eomma, I don't want the teddy bear if you're not here to share it with me. Please eomma, don't leave me."

I put my head against her chest and cried my heart out.

Then, someone dragged me away.

NO. I don't want to leave eomma.

"LET GO OF ME!! I WANT EOMMA!!!" I tried to shake his hands out..

"Megan..." appa looked me in the eye with full of care,"it's no use. She's gone."  

I know. 

Her face was covered and was carried into an ambulance.

After the incident, I became traumatic to stand on stage as I thought something bad will happen to the one's closest to me.

I promised myself to never get on stage ever again.

PRESENT

"Megan, we're home," Appa said.

I walked out and sighed. 

I miss you eomma.

I got on my bed and checked my phone.

1 missed call. 

oh, I forgot that I gave Taeyeon my number. Maybe I should call her.

"Hello?"
