Chapter 12: You Don't Know

You woke up to the smell of a warm breakfast being made. You smiled and shifted in the bed, buried under the weight of heavy sheets.

“Daehyun-ah~” you sighed. You reached to your side to see if you found him there. Empty. You opened your eyes and noticed that you were in the bed alone. Maybe he already washed up, you thought. You stretched and pulled on your clothes that were scattered on the floor. I hope none of his family members walked in… You slowly opened the door and took a peak. You heard Daehyun’s mother laugh from across the hall, murmuring soft words in between her laughter. You opened the door a bit more to see what was happening. You saw a man, possibly Daehyun’s dad, against his mother who was on the wall and grabbing onto one of her s. Your eyes widened and you closed the door. You leaned our back against the door and stood in shock. Well this isn’t awkward…

“I told you she’d wake up!” you heard Daehyun’s mother yell in a low voice. His dad chuckled and you heard his heavy footsteps go down the staircase. You heard another set of footsteps walk towards the door. You walked away and sat on a chair by the window with your knees up. You groaned. It hurts…

“Remi~ Can I come in?” Daehyun’s mother chimed. You cleared your throat.

“It’s fine, you can.” The door opened and Daehyun’s mother walked in with a cup of tea. She walked over to you with her white robe on and placed it on the table in front of you. You smiled and thanked her, and she sat on the chair across from her.

“How are you feeling?” she asked. You looked up at her and she laughed. You don’t know what kind of face you made that made her laugh, but she sure enjoyed it.

“I made you tea to soothe everything, and don’t worry, I called your mom and told her that I’ll be spening the day with you” she ended it with a wink and you thanked her again.

“You’re very kind… please, I’ll be happy to help you with anything today.” She laughed louder.

“Remi, it’s fine! Actually, Daehyun’s dad and I are… going out on a date; make yourself at home until Daehyun comes back. Try to rest, I know it hurts.”

“Well I mean it IS my son, Daehyun.”

“What? Who said that?” You looked at her with a confused face and she stood up and left the room.
