I Remember

The next time that I opened my eyes, sunlight was streaming through the window. The room was silent, and empty except for Jaejoong, who was slumped in a chair by my bed side. His head was lulled to one side, and he was asleep, holding one of my hands lightly between his. Seeing him this time, I was a lot less freaked out since I've had time to adjust to the idea of having a boyfriend. Kim Jaejoong was REALLY good looking. I couldn't help but just study him as he slept. Was he even human? How could I possible be dating someone this handsome? I mean, I know I wasn't bad looking or anything but Jaejoong looked way out of anybody's league. But why was he here, and where were Niel and Yongguk? I craned my neck trying to read the clock, but in the end had to sit up. It was 9:13 AM. Niel was probably at school, but shouldn't Jaejoong be at work like Yongguk? He must have felt me move, because Jaejoong stirred, and blinked a few times, looking like an adorable kitten that was just waking up. "I took the morning off for you," he answered sweetly. To my surprise, I didn't flinch at his closeness even though I was a believer in personal space. It seemed that my body remembered him, even if my mind didn't. Suddenly, I wanted to remember. I wanted to know about this Kim Jaejoong, and I wanted to feel about him the way that he felt about me, which I could sense in his every touch and see in his haunting eyes. "Who are you?" I finally whispered. "Who is 'us' ?" Jaejoong let out a sad smile, but stood up. "Let's get you some breakfast, Ara. Then, I'll tell you everything." While the hospital did serve breakfast, Jaejoong had called for it to be delivered over from a restaurant nearby. He knew exactly what I wanted without even asking: sausages, pancakes with strawberry syrup, and orange juice with pulp. He helped prop pillows behind me so I could sit up, and bit his lip as if he felt the pain personally when I winced in ache from my ribs. "I'm fine," I told him, gesturing for him to sit down again. He looked uncertain, but let go of me to take his seat again. "Let me feed you," he insisted, already starting to cut the pancakes into smaller strips just the way I do for myself. It was creepy how well he knew me, but then I guess, if we had really been dating for a whole year, it was no surprise. "How
