The next day.
Mei waited at her apartment patiently for Hyung Joon. He will be arriving anytime soon and she wants to talk to him before Jung Min comes. Hopefully Hyung Joon would understand what she is about to tell him. As she looked out the window, her thoughts floated away that she didn’t realize Hyung Joon was already inside her apartment.
“Boo!” Hyung Joon shouted as he grabbed her shoulders.
Mei squealed as Hyung Joon laughed his head off.
“Ya!!!”
“What were you daydreaming about?” Hyung Joon chuckled.
Mei smiled and composed herself.
“You scared me Joonie…” She mumbled shyly.
“Mianhe, what did you want to talk about? You sounded really distressed on the phone.” Hyung Joon mentioned.
“Umm, sit down oppa.” Mei gulped as she patted the empty seat next to her.
She was getting really nervous while Hyung Joon somewhat felt that what she’s about to tell him, he wouldn’t like.
“What’s wrong jagiya? You’re worrying me.” Hyung Joon uttered.
“Nan… ummm… nae…” Mei stuttered.
“Mei, just tell me or I’ll kiss you again.” Hyung Joon threatened.
Mei laughed nervously and then looked him in the eyes.
“You know I said I wouldn’t date you or Jung Min,” she started.
Hyung Joon nodded intently. He knew what was coming next.
“Well, something happened which made me realize something.” Mei gulped.
Hyung Joon smiled sadly and finished her speech.
“You want to be with Jung Min.” He sighed.
Mei gasped and studied his expression. He looked very upset but not shocked at all.
It seemed like he was expecting this all along.
“Ne. I’m sorry.” Mei’s bottom lip quivered.
“Ya don’t say sorry, you can’t help who you fall for,” Hyung Joon told her.
“Can we still be best friends?” Mei requested.
“Of course! As long as you and Minnie won’t be all lovey-dovey in front of me.” Hyung Joon laughed.
“Gomawo oppa.” Mei sighed in relief and hugged Hyung Joon tight.
Hyung Joon her hair adoringly.
“So when are you going to tell him?” He asked.
“Today, he’ll be here soon hopefully.” Mei smiled.
“I’m happy for you. He’s a good guy. I rather see you end up with one of my best friends than you ending up with that otter.” Hyung Joon hissed.
“That otter is a good guy too.” Mei giggled.
“Not in my eyes.” Hyung Joon rolled his eyes.
They kept quiet for a while, just hugging each other when Jung Min silently walked in the apartment.
He walked in on them in the lounge without the two seeing him.
“Ya why don’t you call him and tell him now?” Hyung Joon nudged Mei.
“I’ll wait til he comes, he might be driving.” Mei said.
“But I want you to tell him now.” Hyung Joon insisted.
“He’ll be here soon, I’m sure he will understand.” Mei said.
Little did they know that Jung Min heard all that and he was thinking of something else. He thought that Mei has chosen Hyung Joon over him.
