Chapter 10

Family Business

Groaning, you couldn’t help but rub your eyes as you placed your laptop on the coffee table in front of you. It’s been two weeks since they’ve taken Sumin and you still can’t find any information about where she could be. You could barely remember who kidnapped you; all you could remember was his name.

“Park Jaehwan.” You mumbled, writing his name down.

This was irritating, Sumin could be anywhere. You just wanted to find her, but you obviously weren’t going to succeed on your own. You needed help and the only way you could do that would be with someone on your side.

You sighed, ruffling your hair. The only people that you could think of were the ones that hated your guts. There was no way you were going to get them to help you.

You were way beyond irritated at this point so you walked towards your room and changed into a simple outfit. Some dark blue skinny jeans, a white V-neck and some black and white Nikes. You needed to get out on the streets and find information on your own.

Sitting behind a lap top screen just wasn’t getting you anywhere and there was no way you were going to call your mom. She’d kill you if she found that you’ve been running around with six boys.

Before you could make it out of your apartment, your phone rang. Looking at the caller ID, you saw that it was a private number. Something didn’t feel right; quickly you ran to your lap top and set up everything you needed to trace a call.

“Who are you.” You asked, placing the call on speaker phone.

“Well aren’t you well trained.” The male voiced mimicked, you could feel the smirk in his voice. “How’d you know it was someone dangerous?”

“Where is she.” You growled, watching your laptop trying to map the exact location.

“You’re not going to ask me how I’m doing?”

“ you Jaehwan. Where is my cousin.”

“That’s more like it. If you knew it was me all along, why’d you ask in the first place.”

Seeing your laptop pin point exactly where Jaehwan was placed a smirk on your face. You wrote down the location and grabbed your phone.

“Just wanted to make sure I was about to kill the right mother er.”

“Oh honey, that’s only if you can find me.”

Hanging up the phone, you walked out of your tiny apartment. Suddenly, it didn’t seem so comfortable and welcoming. You couldn’t help but think of Sumin. Images of her being tortured and questioned ran through your head. It terrified you as much as it angered you.

Sure she was trained, but you were trained better. You could handle being tortured for weeks without breaking, but you weren’t sure if Sumin could handle it any longer. God damn it Sumin. You’re always trying to save me. You thought, passing by a group of girls on the street.

You found yourself being pulled out of your thoughts when someone grabbed onto your arm and turned you around. Shocked, you looked at whoever thought it was okay to touch you. Meeting eyes with a familiar female face you couldn’t help but tilt your head in confusion.

“Who the are you, and why the are you touching me.” You hissed, ripping your arm from her grip.

“You don’t remember me?” She questioned, stepping closer to you.

Instead of answering with words, you decided that punching her in the face would get your message across more clearly.

“No, I don’t.” You said, rubbing your knuckles. “But I’m not in the ing mood to remember.”

Two girls lunged toward you but before they could lay a hand on you, you kicked one in the stomach and you elbowed the other in the face. Smirking, you rolled your head and waited until you heard a ‘pop’ from your neck.

“I haven’t fought in a while, and I have a lot of pent up anger inside of me.” You explained, grabbing a metal pipe out of a garbage can.

“So if you feel like getting your asses beaten half to death, let’s continue.” The sound of metal colliding with a brick wall was all that could be heard. “Shall we?”

Panting, you looked at six bodies lying on the ground. Some were groaning, some were rolling around clinging onto whatever it was you severely ed up, and some were doing both. You wiped the blood dripping from your lip before you squatted down, looking at the girl who grabbed you in the first place.

“Oh, yeah. I remember you now.” You smiled, turning her face with the pipe still in your hand. “You’re the girl that wanted to drug me just so you could beat the out of me.”

Lightly, you started to tap the metal pipe on her forehead. Pouting you started rub your chin with your free hand.

“It would be a shame if this accidentally got lodged into your ing head. Don’t you think?”

“I’m so sorry.” She begged, tears running down her face. “I’ll do anything you say. I won’t bother you ever again.”

Blankly staring at her, you shook your head. People always wanted to think they were so tough, but once it came down to their lives on the line they wanted to say anything to save it. It was disgusting. You’d think they would’ve been trained better. Keep your pride until the end, never give in. And never beg for mercy. It just makes you a little .

Raising the pipe up, you brought it down as hard and fast as you could. Watching the girl squeeze her eyes close as if it was the last time she’d see the moon made you laugh. The metal pipe rested just above where her head was on the concrete.

“Find out who the Park Jaehwan works for, and I won’t ing kill you.” You whispered, murderously low.

The girl gulped and sat up.

“Yes ma’am.”

She quickly said before bowing.

With all emotion gone from your face, you stood up and threw the pipe on the floor. Dusting your hands off you started to walk away. Suddenly stopping in your tracks, you turned your head to the left, slightly looking at all of the girls lying on the floor.

“And get the out of this ing gang life. You all look 16. Get back in ing school and stay there. Go home.”

You heard them all mumble a ‘yes ma’am’ before you continued to walk off.

Feeling your phone vibrate, you smiled at the text message.

From: Umma Himchan

Meet me at the coffee shop across the street from your apartment.

This could either be really bad, or really good. But you wouldn’t find out until you actually met up with him, right? Quickly walking toward the coffee shop, you checked the time on your phone. 1:30AM. Yongguk definitely doesn’t know that Himchan is out right now. This means, he’s meeting up with you in secret.

This was going to be an interesting meeting.
