Spirit
Kris had been watching you comfortably sleep while the sun moved from over the horizon to in the middle of the baby blue sky.
The truth was that he was worried about you. He hadn't forgotten about the shocking string of events that had happened the previous night, and was far more worried about you than he would've liked.
He soon dozed off facing you, thinking about how he liked the way you naturally smelled like vanilla beans.
Kris didn't expect such an outburst of emotions when you woke up.
Scrutinizing your face, he saw it convey confusion, anger, acceptance, confusion again, and finally, realization.
You bolted up from your sitting position and all he saw was a blur of color before he noticed you eagerly bounding into the woods.
Sprinting after you, he saw you approaching a snow white wolf and nuzzling noses with it. Rather than feeling jealous or hurt, he felt a sort of serenity and peace emanating from the majestic creature.
You brightly beamed at the wolf and hugged its silky fur as it stood on its legs with you riding on its back.
"Oh, Kris," you began cheerfully, "meet my buddy Sungyeol."
She motioned to the spirit wolf and smiled fondly at it.
"You see, he's my brother. He's one of the wolf pack and we were the closest before I had to leave them."
Kris nodded but felt slightly out of place, as he was the only being not from the wolf pack.
He felt awkward and didn't know how to react when Sungyeol suddenly bowed, lowering his front legs. Kris bowed back, instead with a respectful ninety-degree angle.
"Sungyeol says he knows where Chen is! Since he's the caretaker, he has to know what and where something is in the forest, just for our safety." you excitedly exclaimed.
Kris hesitantly rode on Sungyeol's back after Sungyeol permitted him to, saying that it was the fastest way of travel, and the three set off into a deeper part of the woods.
