Jiyong blinked. It felt like he just snapped out of a daze or have been jerked awake but he can’t seem to remember what happened before he fell asleep. However, before even wondering where he was or why was he floating, the question in his head that needed to be answered was…

“Where’s Seunghyun?”

He looked around him, then below, to find the man kneeling beside a bed. Seunghyun was holding on to the hand of the sleeping person lying there. He soon realized that the sleeping person was actually him  and that he wasn’t sleeping. Rather than feeling confused or sad about his death, all he could think about was…

Don’t cry Seunghyun

“Ji baby, wake up” he heard Seunghyun plead. He could almost feel Seunghyun’s warm breath as he gently whispered the words to his cold lifeless fingers. “Ji baby, please don’t go…” Seunghyun kissed his fingers. “Please don’t leave…”

I'm still here

There was a loud steady beep. It was the heart monitor attached to his body. It was suddenly flatlining.

Jiyong could only watch from above as Seunghyun raced out the room and called for a doctor. The doctor and nurses came seconds after. Jiyong watched them revive his body in vain. Seeing that he was now a spirit and was already out of his body meant that he died just a few seconds ago. He was already dead and there was nothing these doctors could do to save him.

“Please God…”

Jiyong turned to look at the now anxious Seunghyun by the door. The man had a fist clenched at his side and another near his throat. He was having a hard time breathing. “Please God…” Seunghyun repeated like a prayer.

The doctors were still trying to resuscitate him at the next few seconds. Occassionaly, a sharp spike appeared at the monitor but was never followed by another. Jiyong took this time to try to remember what happened at the last few moments of his life.

“They said it’s fine.” He stood beside Seunghyun and let a hand rest on his shoulder. “They checked every bolt and even jumped on it to let me see.”

“But something about that platform is wrong, I could feel it.” Seunghyun starts shaking his head and makes clicking sounds. “Tsk. I want to check it for myself.” Seunghyun unfolded his arms and starts to head for the platform in question.

He grabbed Seunghyun’s arm to stop him. When the man turned around to look at him, he decided to laugh cheerily and put on his cute face. His angry face may aggravate the other man’s conviction to make the inspection. “It’s fine.” He smiled. It was just like Seunghyun to be nervous at times like these. “Don’t worry.” Seunghyun looked at the platform and back to him again.

He could tell Seunghyun was thinking it over. “It was okay in the rehearsal right?” he asked. Jiyong nodded as a response. “Okay.” Seunghyun gave him a relieved smile.

Jiyong matched Seunghyun’s grin but he could tell by looking at the other man’s eyes that he still wasn’t convinced. “Now let’s get that hair fixed.” He then dragged Seunghyun to the nearest mirror to distract him. The show would start soon.

“Ji, be careful.”

Seunghyun grabbed his wrist once they passed each other backstage. It was the encore and Jiyong remembered he would be using the platform Seunghyun was pestering him about since morning. Truthfully, he would be annoyed if Seunghyun wasn’t so caring and adorable.

“Okay, okay, stop it already. You’re making me blush!” he thought.

He looked intently at Seunghyun’s eyes and when it softened, he knew the other man got his message.

“Big Bang Fighting!” Jiyong shouted when all five of them have gathered at the other side of the curtain. He couldn’t help but be a leader and give his comments for the members before going on stage again.

“Is your foot okay Bae? That last flip was uncalled for.”

“Noona missed some confetti on your hair D.”

“The lights won’t reach. Step up a bit maknae.”

“And TOP hyung-”

Seunghyun looked at him and Jiyong was about to make his remark when the director signaled for them to start. The curtains moved and his microphone . But before he shouted “Are you ready?” to the crowd, he mouthed an “I love you” to an unsuspecting Seunghyun.

As Jiyong looked at the doctors’ last attempts to bring him back to life, he couldn’t help but be glad it was the last words for the one he loved.
