Epilogue: Sehun Ending

“S-Seh—“

She was completed engulfed in Sehun’s tight embrace, his worried expression newly stitched into her mind. She didn’t understand why he was there or how he knew she was there but she was thankful nonetheless. She buried her face into his neck and she kept it there for an amount of time she wasn’t sure of. However, she did know that Sehun didn’t let her go for that amount of time either.

They spent the night on the couch together. She woke up to Sehun lightly running his fingers through her hair. He listened intently as Ileana struggled with her explanation. He somehow managed to comfort and calm her with just the right words and just the right touches.

He took her hand and guided her through her toughest days. She first cooped herself up in the apartment and he made sure to visit her every day. It may seem silly but she didn’t want to go outside yet. It would just further the fact that she was there and not back at home.

Eventually, with the help of Sehun and the others, she did see the light of day once more. Sehun took her to the familiar tea shop and she had her favourite tea and pastries to cheer her up. She was starting to progress and slowly get over it with Sehun by her side each step of the way.

When Kris found out about Ileana, he dropped everything he could and tried to be with her. She turned him down. He had an important role to fulfill. She did tell him that she would be for him when he needed comfort or someone to relax with. But at that moment she knew he had more important obligations than paying attention to her wellbeing. So, she became an actress for him and would smile his way, reassuring him that she was just fine.

It didn’t settle him but he respected her wishes and lies. As a result, he began drowning himself in work in order to forget her. Suho and he continued on revising and reforming the backbone of the Sectors. Ileana could see it; the change in the Sectors. The days were brighter, the people happier and the air less tense. Along with the Sectors, Ileana felt her mood changing. She let go of the guilt and thought of what her family would wanted. And her family wouldn’t have wanted her to live her life grieving over them.

So, she took the first major step in her life and agreed to Sehun’s proposition to live with him and work in the shop again. She grew accustomed to her new way of life and found herself enjoying it very much. Although she knew that there would be a tiny but permanent hole in her heart, Sehun did a fine job filling it.

One day, Sehun sat her down on the couch in his flat. He watched as she ate one of the tastiest omelettes he had ever made her and sip on the tea he painstakingly brewed for hours to get just right. She was suspicious of his unusual behaviour but it changed into shock when he got down onto his knees.

It was a short but impossibly sweet wedding with their close friends. They were happy to receive blessings from everyone; Kris even showed his face and gave her a small but authentic smile.

Being married didn’t really change her way of life much. If anything, it made it better. Sehun gave her the love she needed and she had no problem reciprocating. She thought of her future together with Sehun and could only feel happiness from her imagination. She dreamed of more kisses, words and experiences that would happen between them and that’s when she knew she had found her home. Sehun was her home. A home she wanted stay with forever and possibly raise a family with.

When she brought up the idea, Sehun wasted no time gathering her up in his arms and whisking her away in a flurry of kisses and touches.

She never saw the Tree of Life after their second meeting but as her life progressed, there was one statement that always resonated with her.

“Love is the most powerful tool in the universe.”

Ileana couldn’t have learnt that better than now. Love broke her apart but mended her right back up. Love is a great weapon and a great healer.

Ileana subconsciously created a new mission for herself. It came more naturally than imagined. Before long, it became second nature to her. She allowed herself to love those around her and to be loved in return. And that, is how this story ends.
