Gahyeon breathed out, trying to dispel the nervousness. Her skin was warm; the sun rays shining through the hole at the top of the temple, causing the altar to be bathed in light.

Beside her stood Lee Siyeon, the Queen of the Western Realm.

Her betrothed, and soon her spouse.

Gahyeon had been promised away since birth, and had met the slightly older woman a few times growing up, but even if she knew this would be her destiny she could not help being nervous.

Now they stood together, being vowed into holy matrimony, before the Gods.

A gentle hand clasped her own, and Gahyeon could not look to the side, but the action made her frantic heart slow a little.

At least people claimed Queen Siyeon was a gentle soul, and Gahyeon hoped it was true.

She squeezed the hand, breathing out slowly as ceremony continued.
