Dance Practice

Sweat

The seven members were back to the practice room, making sure everything went according to plan. They couldn't fail and this time, no matter how distracted one could be, no matter how problems the other could have, they couldn't afford a single mistake. No need to say everyone warned Hoya before they even started warming up. The main dancer just rolled his eyes and told everyone they had nothing to worry because he got everything under his control that he wouldn't mess up again. Everyone looked at him with suspicious eyes but Hoya just ignored them.

He had bigger things to worry about at that moment. He just continued doing what he was supposed to do. He didn't want to distract himself with useless thoughts, like he allowed the day before, and he saw how it ended. It ended up with him having a huge freak out in front of Dongwoo and not being able to sleep the whole night because every time he closed his eyes the image of the older man would cross his mind and would make him wake up covered in sweat, his heart beating way too fast and his head spinning. So yeah, it wasn't a comfortable night. At least he managed to sleep for a little while in the van when they were going on their way to practice.

And he was actually surprising everyone whit how perfectly he was moving, even if he was looking completely exhausted. And they wouldn't even get started on how huge the dark circles under his eyes were. The members were pretty sure they never saw Hoya dance with so much passion and fire in his eyes. Supposedly Infinite practice was all about their main dancer. But Sungjong couldn't help but notice. “Hyung looks pissed..:” He whispered to Sungyeol and the older nodded. Indeed, Hoya looked like he was about to punch someone in the face if he heard words he didn't want to hear. They were all a little worried that maybe Hoya was pushing himself too hard in the practice. That all that passion, all that fire was meant by something that wasn't dancing. Sure, the managers were loving to see Hoya like that and they even told the other members to learn from him, but something was a little off and the members were a little scared that the main dancer would get himself hurt. He looked weird, he really did.

Woohyun tried to convince Sunggyu to talk to the main dancer because something had to be wrong for Hoya to be like that, and as a leader, Sunggyu had to speak with him. But like the rest, the leader was a little scared to talk to Hoya so he just came up with the excuse that the younger needed to relief some steam, that it was probably better for him. “But he looks like he's going to kill one of us!” Woohyun whispered as they kept on watching Hoya dance. Sunggyu pressed his lips together. What was he suppose to say in the first place? It wasn't like he could go next to the younger man and say “Hey Hoya please go outside to catch some air because you look like you're going to kill us all!”  Yeah, he was pretty sure the younger man wasn't going to react to that with a smile on his face.

“I...can't...” Sunggyu said but before he could say anything else, he saw Dongwoo getting up from the floor with a very angry groan. The leader had to admit he didn't even knew the rapper was next to him. He looked to the blond man and he saw him touching Hoya's shoulder. The dancer almost jumped and even from afar Sunggyu couldn't help but be scared from the look Hoya gave Dongwoo. All members seemed affected. All but Dongwoo who just rolled his eyes to the younger. Sunggyu blinked and it all happened too fast. Way too fast to be called normal. One minute the two of them were staring to each other, Hoya looking furious and on the other he was following the older man like a puppy. What the hell just happened? Was Hoya bi-polar and they just found out now? What did Dongwoo just told him? “What just happened?” Woohyun asked and all the leader could do was stare with his mouth wide open. He really was questioning his position at that moment. Why couldn’t he be like Dongwoo in that exact moment? Was he a bad leader?

Both men were outside and didn’t say a word until they heard the door close behind them. They had to be sure no one was going to fall them. Dongwoo knew the members and he was pretty sure that at least one would follow them to know what they were going to talk about. It would probably be Myungsoo or even Sungyeol, he didn’t know. Those two, when it came to gossip were the worst, but while Myungsoo was a little quiet about and just used the juicy gossips for future blackmail, Sungyeol would share it with the world. It wasn’t because their choding liked to be mean. He just had a very big mouth and he really had a hard time keeping it close. Dongwoo turned to face Hoya and saw the younger one wasn’t looking very happy but at least he didn’t look like he was going to kill someone. On the contrary. His stare had become a little soft.

“Okay.” He started but wasn’t sure how to keep going. “What the hell Hoya?” Was all he could ask. He really wasn’t thinking when he got up from the floor and told Hoya they had to talk. All he knew was that he was now outside with the younger man and they had to talk before they went back inside. “Why are you looking like you’re about to kill all of us?” The older asked and Hoya just kept on staring. That stupid, blank, annoying stare. Dongwoo was getting the feeling the main dancer and Myungsoo were spending too much time together and that Myungsoo’s creepiness was rubbing off. “Did we do something wrong?” the older was pretty sure he was about to jump towards Hoya and place his hands on the man’s neck and kill him. He was annoying him so freaking much. “No, you didn’t.” Hoya whispered. He wasn’t in the mood to talk, especially not with Dongwoo. He couldn’t even look to his face. It made him think of things he wished he could forget.

An awkward silence took over them and Hoya took this as a cue to leave. He didn’t know why and he didn’t care, but for some stupid reason he could feel his cheeks burn and he couldn’t even think straight or even hear his own thoughts. Why was being such a mess? Why was he feeling like he was about to throw up? Why was he sure that floor under his feet was opening and why was the world spinning around him?“If we’re clear now, I’m going back inside. I want to practice.” He said and Dongwoo could swear he was being left behind. What was wrong with Hoya? Why was the main dancer behaving like that? It made no sense and Dongwoo was pretty sure he was on the verge of exploding and killing Hoya. He was now staring at the younger leave and step by step he could feel his blood boil. “Lee Howon! Do not leave until I finish speaking!” Hoya stopped walking but didn’t turn to face Dongwoo. Instead he started biting his lower lip and couldn’t stop wishing that he was inside the practice room. He didn’t want to be alone with Dongwoo. He didn’t want to stare at his face.

He didn’t want to listen to his voice. If he did, he couldn’t stop imagining bad things. He wouldn’t be able to control himself and he would have another freak out. And this time he didn’t had a room to lock himself in and wait until it was morning. “What’s wrong with you Hoya? You’ve been avoiding me like I’m so kind of plague and you’re acting weird since…I don’t know, we’ve never been friends to start with, but damn it. Things were awkward before, but now, it’s just too weird.” Dongwoo paused and passed a hand through his hair. “I know we never talked and that our…relationship” When he heard the word ‘relationship’ Hoya couldn’t help but feel his heart skip a beat. Why was he nervous? Why was he even caring about what Dongwoo had to say? It made no sense! “…became worst since management forced us to do fan-service but…” Hoya closed his eyes and wished that Dongwoo would just stop talking. It was being too hard. He was listening to everything but his imagination was going other way. A way he didn’t want to go. Not anymore!  One time was painful enough.  “…we’re band mates. Can’t we at least pretend to get along?” Hoya didn’t turn. Instead he just took a deep, long breath and looked up to the sky. It was clean, without a single cloud. God, why his life was being so hard? He was getting so frustrated and right now, all he wanted was to punch Dongwoo in the face. He started walking away and Dongwoo was about to talk, but he managed to speak first. “You annoy me hyung…but fine, let’s have it your way. Let’s pretend to be friends!”

Chapter 16: This was just too cute! The way everyone reacted and how yadong responded to their questions when they got together was so funny! I really liked this story. It took Hoya long enough to realize his feelings but that's okay because he's just a shy baby in denial of his feelings.
