Second part of the update, make sure you've read the first :)

It was late in the night and Tiffany was preparing for her early start in the morning. They were set to be picked up in a drop ship around 5 miles from their location, at 4am. She placed her clothes out ready for the morning. Sooyoung had suggested that they head off around 3, leaving them some room to complete the drive safely.

The young woman couldn’t help but feel ecstatic at the thought of possibly seeing Taeyeon again - it was pretty much the only reason she had agreed to accompany Hyoyeon. She didn’t need to be there to help her friend, as all that her and Sooyoung did was make sure the city refugees had all the clothes and food they needed.

As much as Tiffany wanted to just close her eyes and sleep, she was nervous about about the day ahead. She was looking forward to seeing the way that the Resistance worked from the inside - since everything about it was so secretive and hidden. She kept imagining the army and what it would be like: what was their uniform like? What does the base look like? Will she meet Taeyeon again?

She lost herself in her thoughts, and soon she heard the buzz of her alarm signaling that she had to meet Sooyoung outside. She quickly threw on some skinny jeans and a leather jacket, thinking that possibly her usual summer dress wouldn’t be entirely appropriate. Hyoyeon had warned them prior, that they shouldn’t bring anything with them since it would be confiscated anyway.

Tiffany tiptoed down the stairs, taking no risks to wake anyone in her house, and closed the door, smiling as she saw her giant of a best friend.

“We’re meeting Hyo by the main road, she’s already got the car out there but we don’t want to wake anyone.” The taller woman spoke.

“I don’t want to make the mistake of being caught out during curfew.” Tiffany grimaced, remembering the night she spent being scalded by authorities when she was 12.

The town was dead so the girls didn’t make much noise as they crept along the road to where Hyoyeon would be. Their path was dimly lit by the metal lanterns which hung above them, providing a slight glow.

Hyoyeon sat in her jeep at the end of the road, just by the forest. Sooyoung took shotgun and Tiffany strapped herself into one of the back seats, bracing herself for the ride.

Hyoyeon was, without a doubt, a speed demon. The lack of light made no difference to this, and as soon as they were far enough from the town, she pressed her foot down hard on the pedal, and raced past the forest. The ground was uneven, making the jeep wobbly and occasionally even take off the ground slightly.

Tiffany tried to calm her nerves as their destination came closer, as she worried about what they were going to see. The Resistance were completely off the radar, and the only things she knew is what the news showed them - so she really didn’t have much information to help her know what to expect. Hyoyeon didn’t know anything apart from what she received through the short phone call.

Hyoyeon was told so little over the receiver, and if it weren’t for her knowledge on decoding messages, she wouldn’t have understand who was even calling in the first place. For every job, the phone calls would use code words so if authorities were listening in, it would sound only like a normal conversation.

The car slowed on the outskirts of the forest, and Hyoyeon steered it into the treeline before stalling the engine and getting out.

“What now?” Sooyoung asked, peering intensely into the land ahead of them, looking for their ride.

“We wait I guess?” Hyoyeon asked, not really sure what was happening.

The trio stood patiently watching the time, and the second it hit 4am, Hyoyeon’s phone started ringing.

“Thank you for coming Miss Kim. I want you and your colleagues to walk into the field with your hands up.” The voice spoke through the speaker before the call cut and Hyoyeon placed the phone away in the car.

“C’mon girls.” She nodded forwards, signaling them to follow her.

They held their hands up in the air, and stepped forward anxiously, confused about where their ride was. They kept walking for almost a minute until they heard a voice.

“Freeze.”

It was almost like an illusion, that suddenly they were surrounded by about twenty soldiers. The barrels pointed at them, and Tiffany didn’t dare blink as she stood like a statue. A chopper was heard suddenly, and it landed in front of them. A tall woman got out and strutted through the wall of soldiers. She waved her hand and they all placed their weapons on their backs.

“Girls,” She spoke. “My name is General Kwon Yuri. Thank you for meeting me so early.”

She extended a hand to each woman and shook them eagerly.

“If you will follow me.” She gestured to the aircraft she had gotten out of.

The soldiers followed after them, splitting into groups and getting on different choppers which had just appeared. Four entered into the same craft as the General, taking positions by the open doors. Yuri passed each woman a headset and strapped them into the seats like they were her toddlers.

The helicopter started hover off the ground, and was soon fully taken off. It headed with speed away from the field.

“So.” Yuri spoke through the intercom. “Why don’t you introduce yourselves everyone?” she asked the soldiers.

“I’m Commander Shin Hyejeong.” The first spoke with a smile. “This is Jimin, Seolhyun and Jiyeon. The pilot is Eunjung. This is most of my squadron.”

Each of the women smiled at the newcomers (apart from Eunjung who was driving with concentration.) Seolhyun waved over enthusiastically, making Hyejeong chuckle.

“Well I’m Hyoyeon, nice to meet you guys.” The blonde replied confidently.

“Sooyoung.” The tall girl waved.

“I’m Tiffany.” the final woman replied.

Everyone froze upon hearing the name and Tiffany felt uncomfortable under the stare of the soldiers.

“Tiffany what?” Jimin asked.

“Hwang, Stephanie Hwang. But everyone just calls me Tiff-”

“Oh we’ve heard a lot about you Miss Hwang.” Seolhyun butted in, raising an eyebrow.

The look of confusion on Yuri’s face eased, and she smirked while eyeing the woman.

“She’s that Tiffany?” Jiyeon chuckled.

Jimin nodded and smiled.

“I suppose we owe you special thanks Tiffany. Your help delivered us our best recruit.”

“Taeyeon is our squad member.” Hyejeong added.

“She is currently helping our weapons team but I will make sure she is there for your arrival. She told us all about you.”

Sooyoung nudged Tiffany with her elbow and winked, making her roll her eyes. She couldn’t help but smile however, enthusiastic to meet her friend again.

She admired the soldier’s uniforms for the first time, and they were much smarter than she would have imagined. She had only ever seen the harsh, white uniform worn by the opposing army, and much prefered the Resistance look.

“This is Eunjung, requesting access please!” The pilot asked enthusiastically as they reached the airspace of the base. The entire thing was still on lockdown so from above, the ground below them looked like only foliage until the illusion dispersed and created a space for the helicopters to land in.

Yuri stepped out, followed by the trio of newcomers and soldiers lined up and stood to attention on both sides of them. Yuri led them across the town, and they were in awe instantly.

People were everywhere, whether they were just going about their normal lives or helping the Resistance unload supplies. It was perfectly organised and everyone knew their place, making the effort to help towards something.

“Hyejeong, get Taeyeon and I’ll meet you in the boardroom.” Yuri ordered.

“Yes Ma’am.” Hyejeong formed a little two finger salute, before hopping on a quad bike zooming away.

Yuri led the rest of the group into a large modern building. The interior was primarily black, looking slightly sinister, but simultaneously smart. She gestured to the trio to take a seat, to which they happily obliged.

“Hyejeong’s squadron has been working with the strategic team and has put together a method of gaining information about the senate.” Yuri started explaining suddenly, and with a few waves of her hands, information started to form on a hologram in the middle of the table. “Our aim is to get into the city and meet with a contact regarding  potential information leaks about our position. I’m sure you’re all aware of the bombing of one of our civilisation areas?”

The three women nodded in response.

“Well, we want to find out how they knew our location, and we want to prevent the same thing happening again.”

“So you want me to get you into the city?” Hyoyeon asked.

“That’s part of your task.” Hyejeong replied, entering through the double doors. “Yuri has agreed to let my team in to conduct the mission, and together we are going to need a frequent and easy way in and out.”

“We know this isn’t how you work Hyoyeon, but we need a way that you can be there constantly, because if my team need to get out, then I need you to be there to make sure they won’t be in danger.” The General added, addressing Hyejeong’s team, along with Taeyeon who had walked in after the commander.

Tiffany’s eyed locked onto the blonde at the other side of the desk, and Taeyeon smiled and gave her a wink, before waving her palms and creating a map of the city and surrounding towns on the table. She stood up promptly and began explaining the plan in more depth.

“We have been looking into your services Hyoyeon, and if I’m correct these are the four entrance ways you use to sneak people out?” Taeyeon asked, marking the points on the map.

“I alternate for each job, but yes.”

“Well I’m sure we don’t need to explain the risks on sending a team of resistance fighters into the city. Despite the fact we will be disguised as much as possible, the chances of us entering undetected throughout the mission is highly unlikely. It isn’t just as simple as that though. Should we have to leave suddenly, we need to be undetected, so we won’t lead them right back to the main base.”

Hyoyeon had her concentration face on, and was trying her best to wrap her head around the task so she could formulate a response - but it wasn’t that simple. She had never done any job which put anyone’s well being in danger. It was always a risky business, but she made sure no one would ever be in harm’s way.

“It’s… Going to be difficult.” Hyoyeon responded, still thinking to herself intently. “I will need equipment to make sure each exit is always ready to go.”

“We are more than willing to provide any materials you need,” Yuri cut in. “And this isn’t a favour - it’s a job, and I will see that you are paid modestly for your services.”

“I need time to prepare, but I think I can get it done. There’s no way I can guarantee anyone’s safety in this.. But I’ll try my best.”

The group spent the next few hours focused entirely on the hatching plan. Tiffany and Sooyoung had offered their cabin as one of the possibly hiding spots, and now along with Hyoyeon’s home, they had a slowly expanding list of possible areas where the Resistance could retreat to.

It was lunchtime before they knew it, and Yuri paused the meeting to allow everyone a break. Hyejeong’s team escorted the new trio to the mess hall, and got them some food. They all sat around one of the tables and conversed about the Resistance. Once they all finished they were shown around the facility by Taeyeon and Seolhyun, whilst the others attended to various duties.

“How’re you finding your new life Tae?” Tiffany asked, finally getting the opportunity to chat to her alone, while Seolhyun talked animatedly about nothing in particu
