The airport was packed. So many suitcases everywhere and everyone was talking at once.

“GIVE ME BACK MY RYAN PLUSHIE RIGHT NOW!” Namjoon yells chasing after Tae who is laughing like a maniac. Jungkook is plugged into his phone and seems to be in another world, while Jin is running around like a worried mother trying to make sure everything is taken care of.

“You all have everything, right? Snacks? Chargers? Tickets???” He questions over and over again, but no one is listening. Yoongi and I are standing back watching it all happen and just laugh.

“You would think we were a dysfunctional family,” Yoongi chuckles while pulling out a granola bar. I nod and smile and look at the board with the flight information. We’re relatively on time and waiting to board the plane.

“FLIGHT 87 TO NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, IS NOW BOARDING” I hear a man over the intercom say in an authoritative voice. I see Jin panic and chase after Tae to make him give the Ryan plushie back to Namjoon. I see Hobie walk up to us. 

“Hey! You made it!” I say, happy to see him. We had an extra ticket and Yoongi and I decided it would be fun to bring him along. We had been talking more at the park since his dog Toby had tackled me that day.

“Yeah, just barely! Poor Toby was not happy about the kennel!” He says scratching his head. We head over to the line to board the plane, and a minute later we are joined by a still preoccupied Jungkook, moping Tae and Namjoon, and an exhausted Jin. 

“Welcome aboard, I hope you all have a nice flight,” The flight attendant says. He’s very friendly looking and his name tag reads ‘Yugyeom’. He takes our tickets with a swift fluid movement and we are boarding the plane. 

We were all excited and nervous flying to America for the first time. Jungkook’s parents had friends in New York and invited us to see the sights. It was mid-November and lots of people were traveling, so it was crowded. In America, they celebrate a holiday called ‘Thanksgiving’, and we were going to experience it. Jin was ecstatic when he learned about all the food.

“I CALL SITTING NEXT TO JUNGKOOK!” Tae shouts, hip checking Namjoon out of the way.

“WHAT WAS THAT FOR?” Namjoon yells back, and the two start getting curious looks by the other boarders. Jungkook is sitting in a seat seeming unfazed but the commotion his boyfriend was making. “I was gonna sit by Jin why’d you have to push me?!?” Namjoon whines, rubbing his side. He walks over to his seat next to Jin and trips in the middle of the aisle on the way. Yoongi and I are already seated and laughing our asses off. This was certainly going to be interesting…

Finally, we’re all sitting and we’re finally losing the curious stares from the others. Hobi is facetiming Toby, due to the extra fee he paid to the kennel workers, and looks like he is saying his final farewells to his child. “Shhh, don’t worry Toby, Daddy will be back soon, I promise!” He says to try and comfort his whining pup. We all laugh and he shoots us an evil glare. “He’s my baby! You all have each other, he’s what I have!” He says, but we all still snigger. He pouts and ends the call as the plane prepares to take off. Jin and Namjoon are cuddled together watching a movie, Tae is playing video
