Summer Heat
Suga HighThe humidity in the air makes my white tank top stick to my back as I sit on the bench of the boardwalk, waiting on Yoongi. I squint up at the sky, seeing the seagulls circle around, hopeful for food scraps from the careless passerby below. I blow my bangs out of my face and pull out my phone to text Yoongi.
Babyyyyy it’s hot out here, where are you??
I text, feeling little regret for the whininess of my tone. It really was hot and I’ve been sitting here for almost half an hour waiting for him to grace me with his presence.
Suga Baby: Be patient, I had to go shopping for a new bathing suit because it turns out last time I let Hoseok borrow it, he forgot to tell me that Toby turned it into a chew toy >.>
I can’t help but giggle at the thought, it was hard to be mad at Hobi hyung’s dog, he was too cute.

We walk hand in hand as we make our way down the boardwalk in a comfortable silence, taking in the scene around us. There are families in the beach below, children building sandcastles, chasing each other, their squeals tickling my ears. Even Yoongi can’t help but smile at their innocence.
We’re about to make our way to the entrance of the beach when I’m roughly shoved by a guy walking by. “Watch it, ,” he sneers. Yoongi tenses up and glares at him. The man notices and smirks at him. “What are you gonna do, kiss me to death?” he mocks, laughing at his own comment. Yoongi abruptly lets go of my hand and runs into the man, shoving him up against the nearby gate.
“You wanna kiss my fists, scumbag?” he snarls, the look on his face pretty frightening, even to me. I rush to his side and try to pull him away. “Yoongs, he’s not worth it,” I plead, just wanting to avoid a fight and get onto the beach.
The guy laughs, “Neither of you are worth a grain of sand,” he spits, and before he can say anymore, Yoongi is set off, throwing punches mercilessly at the
