Taekwoon sat on his bed, tonight was just like the usual night. for more than hundreds years, he always stayed in his bedroom, locking the door, refused to hunt, refused to eat, refused to go out. It made Hakyeon and Ravi were so worried about him. sometimes, they found Taekwoon laid on the floor, dying, so they had to draw a blood on their wrist and fed Taekwoon so he won’t dying. They would sometimes gave him some blood bags, but Taekwoon also denied that. He didn’t want to drink human’s blood.  He was so afraid, if he drank human’s blood, he would turn into a beast, and craving more for human’s blood. He was still remembered what happened that night….

That night was a beautiful night for both Hongbin and Taekwoon. They just got married, and they threw a big party that night. all of their fellows came to congratulate them. Taekwoon couldn’t take his eyes off of Hongbin that night. hongbin looked so happy and glowed, his dimples stayed on his either cheeks. Taekwoon whispered some love poems to his ear and it made Hongbin blushed. Hongbin would hit his chest softly and telling him to shut up, but Taekwoon only laughed and sang a love song. They danced, everyone’s eyes were on them, cheering them, congratulating them, everything was so beautiful and perfect. Until,  a loud and deafening sound ruined everything. All of them swayed back and forth, groaned in pain, and then one by one was collapsed to the ground. Their eyes turned red, their fangs were showing. Then a group of witches came and stabbed the vampires with their poisoned weapons.  Taekwoon sensed the danger and he quickly called Hakyeon, his best friend, to run and hide, to save the others and his spouse. Hakyeon immediately pulled Hongbin from Taekwoon and ushered the others vampires around him to follow him. Ravi, Hakyeon’s partner, ran to help Taekwoon to fight against the witches. Hongbin screamed and flailing his arms, trying to break free from hakyeon, he wanted to help Taekwoon. There was a vampire’s baby in front of them and Hakyeon had to let Hongbin go to save the baby. Hongbin quickly took this chance, he quickly ran towards Taekwoon and helped him to fight the witches. The night was such a chaos. Taekwoon noticed Hongbin was fighting with a witch, he screamed and angry towards Hongbin. Hongbin was always stubborn, after he finished killed the witch in front of him, he ran towards Hongbin. he was so angry, his vision got red, he wanted to kill those damn witches. But then another witch blocked his way, he had to rid this one first. He stole some glances towards Hongbin, he saw Hongbin fell on the ground with that witch was raising his weapon towards Hongbin and in instant, that weapon stabbed his lover’s chest. Taekwoon screamed loudly, he roared loudly, and turned to the witch in front of him, he quickly killed him with his fangs, then he ran towards his lover’s killer but Taekwoon lost track of him. The remained witches took a step back, they gone. Taekwoon turned to see Hongbin, he knelt beside Hongbin. he couldn’t hold back his tears, he buried his face on Hongbin’s chest, Hongbin’s body went paler and looked so old. There was nothing he could do to save Hongbin. there was nothing.

Taekwoon didn’t want to leave Hongbin alone, he was still there, hoping Hongbin would wake up soon, but it was impossible, the poison already consumed him.

Why must Hongbin? why must him!!

Taekwoon remembered, a night before his wedding, he was so starved and craved for blood. He sneaked out from their shared bedroom, he smelled the night air and smiled. he hunted down for that delicious smell. He found a child, maybe around 7 years old, he looked lonely. Taekwoon approached him, he was asked his name and when he touched the boy’s face, he couldn’t help but sniffed closer, he loved this boy’s smell. He didn’t mean to hurt this boy, but he was so hungry and he could go mad if he didn’t drink a blood. He tilted his head to the side and whispered to the boy’s ear,

“Do you trust uncle?”

The boy nodded

“It’ll be hurt, but i’ll be fast, got it?”

The boy nodded again.

Taekwoon smiled, his fangs were ready to bite the boy’s neck. He closed his eyes, enjoying the content feeling. He never tasted a child’s blood before, this was his first time. He didn’t realize, the boy’s body went limp and fell on his shoulders. Taekwoon shocked when he found out that the boy already dead. He couldn’t give the boy his blood, or the boy could turn into a vampire, no he didn’t want that. So he had to drag the boy’s dead body to the forest, he buried him and went home.

Taekwoon snapped up from his thoughts, he thought maybe the witch knew that he killed the boy, so the witch took revenge. Maybe this was his punishment for killing that boy. If only he didn’t kill that boy, if only he listened to what Hongbin said to stop drinking human’s blood, maybe this all would never happened. But it was all too late. But, he still couldn’t accept his fate. He fisted his knuckles and got up, he had to find the killer.

Hakyeon waved his hand in front of Taekwoon, with Ravi behind him.

“Earth to Jung Taekwoon”

Taekwoon blinked, he rolled his eyes at his friends.

“Are you sure, you don’t want to go to the festival?” asked Hakyeon for nth times. Taekwoon shook his head.

“Oh come on hyung! there’s so much foods, or maybe you want a cotton candy?” said Ravi with a cute voice. Taekwoon glared at him and Ravi quickly raised his hands in surrender.

“Fine then! Go rotting yourself in here! You have to move on! It’s been hundreds years, for god sake Jung Taekwoon!” at that, Hakyeon and Ravi left.

The castle sounded empty, Taekwoon walked towards his balcony and he could see the festival out there. He sighed, Hakyeon’s words still haunted in his mind. Maybe Hakyeon was right, he had to move on.

Taekwoon wore his simple suit, black t-shirt, black pants, black coat, black hat and black shining shoes. He walked towards the entrance. There were so many people, and their smells invaded his nostrils. His fangs threatened to come out but he held it. Hakyeon had trained him to control his hunger towards human’s blood,  but it was long time ago. He tried to think something else to distract his hunger.

He went to the cotton candy stall, because that was the only empty stall. He stood there, unmoving, unblinking, he looked like a statue. Some girls eyed him up and down and then they giggled. He didn’t care. He didn’t know why Hakyeon and Ravi loved to go to the festival. He found it boring. Taekwoon rolled his eyes as he heard human’s high pitched screaming around him, he decided he better went home.

“Excuse me mam, I’d like to buy two your cotton candies please?”

Taekwoon stopped in his track as he heard the man’s voice. He knew that voice belong to.

“Thanks mam”

Taekwoon looked up, and met with the owner of that familiar voice.

Those big brown eyes

Those perfect dimples

No. it can’t be!

“h-hongbin?”

That pink haired man looked up, he looked confused when Taekwoon called his name. that pink haired man pointed to himself, “Hmm? did you just call my name?”

Taekwoon was so shocked. He gaped at Hongbin.

“Are you.. are you Hongbin?”

“Yes, i am. Umm, do i know you?”

“No. I mean, y-yes. I… I know you”

“But.. aah i’m so sorry, I don’t remember you. umm, are you perhaps… my old friend? What’s your name?” Hongbin extended his hand towards him.

Taekwoon eyed his hand nervously, “I… J-jung Taekwoon” he said softly.

Hongbin frowned when Taekwoon didn’t take his hand, but he quickly smiled and took his hand back. “Well.. umm, do you want to join us?” he asked as he ate his cotton candy.

Taekwoon watched Hongbin intently, how can this pink haired man look exactly like his late spouse?

“Umm, hello? Do you want to join us? Me and my friend over there?”

Taekwoon shook his head, “I can’t. I’m heading home”

“Oh? Okay then. See you later Taekwoon-ah” Taekwoon watched Hongbin gone. He climbed on top of the tree, eyes never leaving Hongbin. he even stalked Hongbin from behind, he found where this Hongbin house was. He was curious about this Hongbin, he had to find out soon.

It had been a week that Taekwoon had stalked Hongbin. he knew that Hongbin was living alone, he knew where Hongbin worked, he knew what time Hongbin went home. But he hadn’t show himself in front of Hongbin, he was too afraid, because this pink haired Hongbin, was a human, he didn’t want to scare Hongbin.

Until one night, he saw two vampires blocking Hongbin’s way. Taekwoon immediately stood in front of Hongbin, scaring the two vampires. Those vampires quickly ran away. Hongbin was still shaking behind him, he closed his eyes and whimpered. Taekwoon put his hands on Hongbin’s shoulders, making Hongbin jumped.

“It’s me, Taekwoon.”

“T-taek… I.. saw… v-v-vamp..pires” Hongbin stammered as his body still shaking hard.

“Let me walk you home”

Hongbin nodded. They arrived at Hongbin’s house, Hongbin still shaking from shock. He couldn’t unlock the door. Taekwoon grabbed his hand and helped him. Hongbin shivered for a second, he realized how cold Taekwoon’s hands were.

“i gotta go now, you’re safe here. Don’t be scared, just lock the door. okay?”

Hongbin nodded, and Taekwoon walked away quickly.

Taekwoon sat on his throne, he was facing the front gate of his castle. He was waiting for Hongbin to step in and walked towards him. a moment later, he heard a footstep echoed through the room. He looked up, his burning gaze fixed on Hongbin’s. Hongbin wore a white suits that made him looked like an angel. His pink hair looked messy but it made him looked beautiful. He saw Hongbin turned around, admiring the place around him. Hongbin kept walking forward, towards Taekwoon.

The moment Hongbin stood in front of Taekwoon, Taekwoon got up, his body towered over Hongbin.  Taekwoon stepped closer, he tilted Hongbin’s head and smiled.

“Welcome back Hongbin-ah.”

Hongbin gasped.

“this is your home, for now” Taekwoon smiled, but Hongbin scared. He saw a pair of fangs showed up in Taekwoon’s mouth, he wanted to scream but it was too late. Those fangs already sunk deeper in his throat, and all he could see was the darkness.

Hongbin gasped. He quickly sat down on his bed. Glad that it was only a dream. His clothes were damped because of his sweat. His heart beat faster like crazy, like it was going to jumo out of his chest. That dream felt real. Hongbin shook his head, he went to the bathroom to wash his face, he changed his clothes and sat back on his bed.

Taekwoon

He dreamt about Taekwoon, but why Taekwoon was a vampire in his dream. He shook his head again, it was only a dream.  

The next night, Hongbin just got home from his work. his house was dark as usual, since he lived alone. His grandpa still hadn’t come home for almost three months now. he was too tired to turn on the lights in his room. His windows were opened wide and the wind blew hard into his room, the moonlight shone brightly illuminating his dark room. Hongbin yawned as he walked towards his bed, ready to sleep, but his step stopped suddenly when he realized that there was someone in his room. He looked up but couldn’t see the man’s face. Hongbin scared, he took a step back slowly.

“Wh-who are you?”

The man’s slowly approaching Hongbin. Hongbin’s eyes slowly focused on the man, and he gasped, he quickly took a step back until his back hit the door behind him.

“T-taekwoon?”
