“Chewy-ah, good morning!” Dahyun greeted, with her usually energetic aura and bright grin. Tzuyu, however, appeared to be the exact opposite as she only gave Dahyun a timid response via single nod.

Noticing this, Dahyun turned serious, face etched with worry. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

Tzuyu was hesitant; contemplating whether she’d tell Dahyun what was worrying her or not, but decided she needed someone to listen. Her and Dahyun might not be the best of friends, but she knew the older could be reliable and mature, when required. She also knew that Dahyun is trustworthy, sensitive and fair with judgement.

“It’s Mina. I’m worried about her.” Tzuyu said.

“Why? What happened to Mina unnie?”

“I don’t know. I haven’t heard from her since Friday night.”

“Really?”

Tzuyu nodded and sighed. Dahyun felt that Tzuyu was really worried about Mina so she tried to comfort the younger by placing a hand on her shoulder and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

“Maybe she just had a really bad hangover like Sana. You know she slept the whole Saturday and got mad at me whenever I tried calling her,” Dahyun said, chuckling a little.

Tzuyu didn’t look convinced though, “But it’s unlikely for her to not send me a message throughout the whole weekend.”

“Then I guess just ask her when she comes.” Dahyun simply suggested, not knowing what else to say.

“Is she even coming?”

“I think so. Well, Sana said they are going to school together. I mean their group, J-Trinity, together.”

While Tzuyu was somehow relieved to know that Mina was fine, she also couldn’t help but feel a little bit irritated because the older girl pulled a ‘MIA’ (missing-in-action) act on her.

“Nayeonnie’s coming.”

Tzuyu heard Dahyun said.

“Hi Dahyun! Hi Tzuyu!” Nayeon greeted.

“Hi Nayeonnie! How’ve you been?” Dahyun chirped.

“Wonderful!” Nayeon answered, she then turned her attention to Tzuyu, “Can we talk? If you’re not busy.”

Tzuyu and Dahyun exchanged glances before Tzuyu answered, “Okay, we can.”

“I’ll go ahead then. See you later Chewy-ah and Nayeonnie.” Dahyun bid goodbye and rushed away from the two.

Nayeon and Tzuyu were walking aimlessly in an unbusy area of the school’s premises. Both girls sensing each other. Tzuyu feeling nervous for a reason she didn’t know.

“Thank you.” Nayeon blurted out.

“For?” Tzuyu said, an eyebrow raised in a questioning manner.

“For taking care of Mina.”

It was a rather out of the blue statement, but Tzuyu answered nonetheless, “It’s my duty as her girlfriend, don’t you think?”

Nayeon snorted, a smug smile on her face which Tzuyu didn’t quite like.

“Can I ask you one thing, Tzuyu?”

“Ask away.”

Nayeon looked Tzuyu dead in the eyes, “Do you love her?”

The atmosphere became even more awkward than it already was for Tzuyu, she was completely lost and confused as to where their conversation was going. “Nayeon unnie, isn’t it weird that you’re suddenly asking me this question?”

“Why is it weird? It’s just a yes or no question,” Nayeon said, “oh right, you couldn’t answer it because what you have with Mina is purely platonic, am I right?” her stare pierced right through Tzuyu’s faltering ones. Nayeon was certain that she hit the spot.
