Bleeding Hearts
Description
"How can you hate me so much? I didn't mean to ruin your life... I want to regret it all, but at least you're stuck with me. I really just wanted to be happy, was that too much to ask for? I wanted you... I wanted it all"
~~~~~~
"I'm happy" She whispered into the mirror.
She tried to force herself to smile. The tears continued to fall and she wrapped her arms around herself in a feeble attempt to keep herself together. He had been right. She was the one that had started the messy cycle of hatred and loathing they were locked in. She had everything she wanted, but everything was so messed up and twisted that she found it harder and harder to breath with every passing day.
She heard his laugh echo from the hallway. It was the same laugh that had once made her heart race, but it was an empty laugh now. Why couldn't anyone else hear that?
"Darling" He said as he came to the door. The word nothing more than a show for the important guests waiting in their living room, "Are you almost ready? We can't keep our guests waiting" He said.
"I'm coming!" She called out.
There a pause. A moment in which he didn't immediately leave and she held her breath.
Come inside. Come see what's wrong. Show me that you care... even if it's just a little. Please, Sehun.
"Alright then!" He said, that false happiness on his tone once again before he walked back to the guests.
She forced herself to stand up and walked over to her bathroom. Every step bringing back the numbness she lived in. This was a rare moment of weakness, but lately she was having more and more. She was falling apart she realized quietly as she washed her face and reapplied her makeup. Only when there were no hints of the breakdown she had, did she go outside.
"We're happy" She whispered to herself before she pasted on her well-practiced smile and stepped outside.
"Sorry I'm late!" She called out as she hurried out into the living room.
Her guests smiled and Sehun walked over to her with that fake smile he always wore around company. He wrapped his arms around her and laughed. The laugh didn't quite reach his eyes, but then again it had stopped doing that the moment they had gone through with this marriage.
Would she be better off, she wondered, if she hadn't stolen this life for herself?
