Bleeding HeartsMina regretted stepping out of her house the moment she buckled herself into his car. He greeted her with a cup of coffee which she accepted hesitantly. She said nothing and he hummed lightly as he pulled out of her house and drove. It was awkward. At least for her. She looked at him, he on the other hand, appeared to be happy and with absolutely no worries. She found herself to be only a little bit jealous as she took a long sip of the warm coffee. It burned slightly on its way down, but it distracted her.
Just relax, why are you so tense anyway?
“Where are we going?” She asked as she scanned the passing streets.
“To see my new place! We’re just 5 minutes away Mina” He said casually. Once again, she made a face at how carefree he seemed. Like nothing bugged him.
“I should warn you, you picked the most useless person to look at a place with you. I lived with my... dad, then went straight to marriage so I know nothing about apartments” Mina said as she settled back into the chair.
Baekhyun grinned, “Don’t you know? Decisions should always be looked at by both a man and a woman. Otherwise you get an apartment that is only appealing to one” He said.
“Why ask me? You’d be better off waiting for a girlfriend that you can drag along instead” Mina said, rolling her eyes and taking another drink of coffee.
“That’s exactly what I’m doing though?” He teased and laughed when she choked on the coffee in .
She pressed her hand to as coffee burned its way down all the wrong pipes and went up her nose. He continued to laugh as he reached into the glove compartment box and passed her a package of tissues. She snatched the box from his hands angrily and tried to both cough and sneeze coffee out of her.
Real classy Mina.
“Take me home” She snapped.
“Oh come on, it was a harmless joke!” He said as he pulled his car into the parking garage of a tall and fancy apartment building.
“Harmless joke my ! I’m only here because my schedule happened to be free! If you think this is turning into some weird thing then—“
“Ok, ok! Listen, friends joke around right? I just happen to be a shameless flirt” He said with a smirk and a shrug.
“I don’t like shameless flirts” She hissed.
He shrugged once again as he stepped out of the car and went for the elevator, “Too bad! It’s all you’ve got!” He shouted over his shoulder.
Mina stood by his car and slammed his car door shut. Only because she was already here did she follow along behind him. It had nothing to do with the fact that he was only marginally right about him being all she had in the honest friend department. Who really cared if he was sort of the only person aside from Sehun that she didn’t have to pretend to be perfect around? She frowned as she stood in the elevator, did she even need an “honest friend” though?
Yes, yes you do Mina.
“I’m sorry” He said with a gentle smile as he bumped his shoulder with hers.
“I do want the advice of a woman though, you’ve all got the common sense part pretty mastered so I need to make sure I’m not settling on an ugly apartment” Baekhyun said.
Her frown eased as they reached the floor and Baekhyun smiled brighter at the girl besides him. Ironically enough she was dressed brightly, a medley of soft yellow and white, for someone who he was finding out was so easily annoyed. He was having fun though he realized in surprise. When he had heard about her he had thought she was going to be some shallow and cold girl, he liked that there was more than met the eye to her. Most of all, he liked that he had so easily found her weakness. He had a feeling he would have never been able to get close to her otherwise.
“Welcome Mr. Byun! Coming to take another look at the apartment?” The real estate agent asked cheerily as they both walked in.
“Yeah, I brought along my second opinion” He said with a handshake.
Mina stepped into the apartment. It was big she thought quietly. She supposed since it sat on the top floor it could afford to be big. She walked along the hardwood floors and inspected the kitchen quietly. With its modern styling she wondered how much use the stove would actually get? Was Baekhyun a cooking man or a takeout man? She knew Sehun would make good use of it, whenever he cooked it tasted good at least. Maybe if he was at home more often he would cook more. Who even knew what he liked though?
She heard the murmur of Baekhyun’s voice as he discussed more details with the real estate agent and she followed the hallway towards what looked like a home office or den. The bathroom was nice too. Silver fixtures adorned the gleaming white tiles and walls. There was just a shower in there, but in the bathroom connected to his bedroom was a tub that looked straight up majestic. It was completely decked out with the jets and comfortable padding too. Maybe she would look into getting something like this in her bathroom.
“You’re welcome to try it out whenever you want” Baekhyun said from the doorway to the bathroom.
Mina sighed, “You’ve got to tire yourself out at some point, right? Tell me it gets better” She said sarcastically as she crossed her arms in front of her and pushed past him.
“What do you think of it?” He asked.
She was about to tell him that it was ok, nothing special, when she walked out into the living room and suddenly she realized she must be walking into the major selling point of the place. The walls were made almost entirely of glass. She stepped further in, completely amazed, by the sudden brightness. The sun warmed her skin as she peered out the window and lost her breath. Everything below looked like ants, insignificant and forgotten, and she loved it. She stepped back and glanced around, imagining how beautiful it would be to be able to lay back and stare up at the night sky through the sky light.
“It’s great. There’s so many windows” Mina said with a big smile, “Look at all the sunlight streaming in” She said in wonder, as she held out her hands.
“You heard the lady, it looks good I’ll take it” Baekhyun said, quietly staring at her.
“Wonderful choice! I’
