The next day after the incident, Jungkook called and texted Taehyung but the latter simply ignored him. When he asked Jimin about Taehyung at the office, Jimin told him that Tae will talk to him on the day of their family dinner. Jungkook can’t do anything other than hope that on the dinner night Taehyung will no longer be mad at him. He is also determined to confess his feeling to Taehyung because he can’t lose him because of his stupidity.

 

Dinner Night

Jungkook looked at himself in the mirror. Tonight, he put extra effort in choosing his outfit and styling his hair because he is going to meet Taehyung after not talking, texting and talking with the latter for two days. For Jungkook, it felt like eternity because he is used to hearing the deep yet cheerful voice that can make his day a 1000 time better. So, not hearing the voice of the person that he liked makes his life turn upside down.

“I’ll make sure that I can make Taehyung forgive me and I’m a 100 percent sure,” Jungkook said to himself. After he is satisfied with his look, he left to the Victory Hotel.

“hmmm”

“Listen to his explanation okay”

“hmmm”

“Tae! Look at me!” Jimin whined on the bed after he got the same response from his best friend. Taehyung who is currently putting the choker on his neck, turns around to face the whining human on his bed.

“What now?” Taehyung said to Jimin and continued to hook his choker.

“You’re not mad at Jungkook anymore, right?”

“Well, no. You know what, I have been thinking for the past days and I realized that he must has his own reasons for lying and the fact that he’s trying to explain to me about the reason makes me believe that he is not doing that on purpose. Don’t you think so? Because if not, he maybe will keep on lying to me till the end. But, he’s trying to explain to me. So, I think I can forgive him although I’m still a bit mad but human aren’t perfect, right?”

Jimin gaped at Taehyung.

“Tae…Tae! Oh My God! Thank goodness you understand. Jungkook looked so miserable for the past two days. He looked like a mother cat who lost her kittens! I can’t do anything other than pitying him you know. Thank you for being this kind Tae. I’m relieve now,” Jimin said and hugged his best friend.

“I’m not a drama queen, okay and you know that I can’t stay mad for long.”

Jimin just nod in reply.

“So, do I look presentable enough tonight?”

“Tae! You’re so ing gorgeous, handsome, pretty and y as hell okay. Tell you what, I’m dead sure that Jungkook will not able to keep his mouth close tonight if he saw you and the interesting part is he might also grow a !” Jimin giggled and squealed on the bed.

“JIMIN!” Taehyung threw a small pillow towards his best friend and the latter’s giggles became louder.

“Gosh! What are you talking about? Why are so byuntae?” Taehyung huffed and walked to grab his leather jacket in his walk-in wardrobe.

“Jimin, I’m leaving now.”

“Alright! Have a nice dinner, Tae!”

Jimin kissed Taehyung’s cheek and Taehyung ruffled Jimin’s hair.

When Taehyung arrived at the hotel, he immediately spot Jungkook who is leaning against his Lamborghini, gazing up to the sky. Taehyung quickly parked his Audi at the VIP parking spot, just about 6 cars away from Jungkook’s. Suddenly, he is feeling nervous because although he can’t really see Jungkook, Taehyung can’t deny the fact that the man looks dashingly handsome in that outfit.

“You can do this Kim Taehyung!” Taehyung cheered himself and got out of his car.

He quietly walked towards Jungkook’s car and stood behind it. Jungkook is oblivious that Taehyung is standing behind his car.

“ehemm..”

Jungkook jumped in surprise and he turned around.

“Tae!”

Taehyung simply smiled an awkward smile.

“God! This is so awkward” He thought.

“Em, hey Jungkook. How are…” But, before he can finish his sentence, he was enveloped in a tight hug by Jungkook.

“God Tae! I miss you so much! Don’t leave me! I’m sorry! Please don’t hate me! Please let me explain to you,” Jungkook said and broke into tears. He tightens the hug and unconsciously buried his face on Taehyung’s shoulder.

Taehyung is dumbfounded when Jungkook suddenly cry on his shoulder. Not knowing what to do, he awkwardly brings his hand to rub a comforting circle on the man’s back.

“emm..you okay now?” Taehyung asked Jungkook when his cries finally slowed down.

Jungkook just nod in respond. Taehyung slowly retracted himself from Jungkook.

“Seriously Jeon? Why are you suddenly crying? I thought you’re the manlier one between us. Now, do you want to explain or not? We don’t have the whole time, don’t we? And don’t cry anymore, it doesn’t suit you okay. Look, you ruined your eyeliner pabo” Taehyung said trying to lighten up the mood. He brought a hand to wipe the remaining tears on Jungkook’s handsome face. Jungkook is stunned for a second and he gazed straight into Taehyung’s beautiful dark orbs.

“Tae, hear me out please” Jungkook pleads.

“Yes pabo. You better explain because now, I’m giving you the chance to do so,” Taehyung replied and gave Jungkook a warm smile. Jungkook breathe in relief.

“So, let’s go to the garden over there”

“Okay!”

“First of all, I’m terribly sorry for lying to you. Do you forgive me now?”

“Yes”

“Do you hate me?”

“Maybe yes or maybe not. But, it’s more to yes”

“Tae!”

“No pabo. I don’t hate you. I’m just kidding”

“You scared me. I thought you hate me for real!”

“No way! I can’t hate you because I wouldn’t get free food from you, speaking of which you still haven’t treat me to cakes, ice creams and pastries!” Taehyung exclaimed.

“God! Yes..yes, I still remember. I’ll treat you next time, okay. Now let me explain”

“Alright, alright”

“So, once again I’m sorry for lying and annoys you. I didn’t mean to do that in the first place. The thing is I thought by making you annoyed, I can get your attention and for the lying part. I was surprised when Jimin hyung mentioned about you because all this time I never knew that the both of you are best friends. Yeah, Jimin hyung did mention you in the past but I didn’t really care at that time maybe because we never met. But this time it’s different, after we accidentally met that day I am suddenly attracted to know about you. To tell you the truth, I did ask Jimin hyung about you and remember that time when I was suddenly at the café?”

“Yes?”

“Well, don’t be mad at Jimin hyung but he was actually the one who told me that you’re at that café with Minho hyung” Jungkook laughed a little when Taehyung’s expression change.

“That Park Jamless. That’s why I think something is fishy about him. So, he works as your spy?”

“Well, kind of.” Jungkook laughed and later Taehyung joined too.

 

“So, can we start over?”

“What do you mean?”

“Let’s start over by introducing ourselves properly” Jungkook suggests.

“Sounds nice! You first.”

“Hello, my name is Jeon Jungkook and I am 23 years old, the CEO of Jeon Holding.”

“Hello back, my name is Kim Taehyung and I am 25 years old, the Director at the Dream Arts Academy of the Kim Groups.”

They both shake hands and broke into smiles. Taehyung playfully shove Jungkook’s shoulder and Jungkook did the same.

“So, we’re good now?” Jungkook asked.

“Yes. We’re good Jungkook” Taehyung smiled his signature boxy smile and Jungkook can’t help but resisting himself from kissing the man beside him.

“Tae, do you want to know something?”

“What?”

“You look gorgeous tonight. You seriously took my breath away because I am captivated by you Kim Taehyung.”

“Jungkook, why are you suddenly like this? You sound like you’re proposing to me.” Taehyung laughed but Jungkook didn’t, instead he breathed nervously.

“Tae, I actually wanted to tell you something. Something that is very important,” Jungkook said in a serious tone and genty took Taehyung’s hands into his’.

“What is it? You’re making it sound so serious, Kook.”

“Now is the time”

“Kim Taehyung, I like …”

Suddenly Taehyung’s ringtone interrupts their moment.

“Sorry!” Taehyung quickly fished his phone from the pocket.

“It’s my eomma!”

“Hello eomma!” - “Yes” - “Oh really?” - “Sorry” - “Okay,okay” - “I’m with Jungkook” - “We’ll go there now” - “Yes eomma!” - “We won’t be late”

“What happened?”

“Kook, we forgot about the dinner!” Jungkook quickly look at the time.

8:35 p.m.

“Oh My God! We better go now. Can I tell you about that after the dinner? Please! It’s important!”

“Sure Jungkook. Now let’s go before our parents turn into hulk.” Taehyung laughed.

“Pabo!” Jungkook too laughed

Both Taehyung and Jungkook walked side by side to the restaurant. When they entered the restaurant, a waiter came to them.

“Mr Jeon and Mr Kim, please allow me to lead you to the dining room,” said the waiter, slightly bowing his head towards them.

“Alright” Both said in unison and they gave each other a look. Taehyung grinned and so do Jungkook.

After they thanked the waiter, they stepped inside the room.

“Sorry eomma, appa, Mr.Jeon and Mrs.Jeon for being late,” Taehyung said and bowed his head.

“And sorry eomma, appa, Mr.Kim and Mrs.Kim for being late,” Jungkook said too and bowed his head with respect.

Mr Jeon and Mr Kim nodded their head.

“They you are! Both of you!” Madam Jeon Jaehwa said excitedly.

“It’s okay sons! Come in!” Madam Kim Minjung said and a wide smile spread across her beautiful face.

Taehyung and Jungkook took their seats facing each other.

“Taehyung-ah, Jungkook-ah, do you guys already know each other?” Madam Kim asked both of them.

“Yes, eomma”

“Yes Mrs.Kim, Taehyung and me are friends”

“Oh really? By the way Jungkook-ah, no need to be so formal. Just call me eomma. We’re going to be a family though. So, just call me eomma, okay? Naturally” Madam Minjung said again and smiled.

“Yeah, you too Taehyung. Just call us eomma and appa okay?” Madam Jeon Jaehwa said, referring to his husband.

“Ah, okay eo-eomma. Okay eomma, appa” Jungkook said and smiled.

“Yeah! That sounds better” Madam Kim shared a smile with Madam Jeon.

“Now, let’s eat shall we,” Mr.Kim said.

“Eat a lot Jungkook-ah, Taehyung-ah,” Mr.Jeon said too.

Both families ate and chit chat happily. They shared stories and exchanged thoughts about business too. When it’s time for dessert, both mothers casually brought up the relationship topic.

“So, Jungkook-ah, do you have a girlfriend yet?” Madam Kim asked him causing the black-haired to suddenly cough.

“Yah! Drink this water” Taehyung quickly handed him a glass of plain water and Jungkook gladly drank the water.

“Em, not yet eomma and it’s actually boyfriend not girlfriend”

“Oh! Great!” Madam Kim exclaimed excitedly.

Jungkook is puzzled by her reaction.

“And how about you Taehyungie?” This time Madam Jeon asked.

“Same eommonie. I’m still y free and single I’m ready to bingo,” Taehyung replied playfully causing Mr Jeon to laugh.

“Tae you’re funny,” Mr Jeon suddenly said out of the sudden as he laughed. Seems like he’s the only one who’ entertained by Taehyung.

“Thank you appa!” Taehyung replied and smiled his boxy smile.

“But, why are guys asking us about that and why are you guys so happy?!” Jungkook asked.

“We’re going to tell you son,” Madam Jeon said and smiled.

“So, both of you. We actually have planned something,” Madam Kim starts.

“Since our families are like a real family, so we both have discussed about this matter in which we want it to be real,” Madam Jeon continues.

“What? I don’t quite understand,” Taehyung said.

“Alright. I’ll just get this straight. We want to marry you guys off with each other!” Madam Kim said happily.

“Then, we’ll be a REAL FAMILY!”

“WHAT?” Both Taehyung and Jungkook asked at the same time.

“You heard that sons. We want you guys to get married with each other,” Mr.Kim said.

“B-but..but”

“Eomma! Appa! You can’t do this!”

“Why son? If you guys married with each other it’s not just about a real family thing but we can also strengthen our companies. Imagine, the Jeon Holding and the Kim Groups together,” Mr.Jeon continued.

“But we can’t just marry with each other. Jungkook barely knows about me and so do I. And..and we don’t love each other,” Taehyung said in disapproving tone.

Jungkook just keeps quiet in his seat. He doesn’t dare to say anything because deep inside his heart, he actually 100 percent agrees with their parents’ plan to marry them off because this is what he wants but after hearing Taehyung, he just felt dejected.

“Taehyung sweetie, marriage isn’t just about knowing each other and love. You guys can get to know each other after you married and love. Oh Dear! Love! You can fall in love anytime. It doesn’t have to be before marriage. You guys can develop the feelings. Please, Taehyung” Madam Kim said pleadingly.

“Yes Taehyungie. Sorry that if we’re forcing you into this. But, we as the mothers wanted the best for you guys and we knew that by marrying both of you with each other is a right decision. Please think about it,” Madam Jeon added.

“But, I want to marry the person I love!” Taehyung said stubbornly.

“We. Me and Jungkook, we’re just friends! Nothing more. No feelings. Just friend. Eomma, Appa!”

It would be a lie if Jungkook said that he is not hurt by Taehyung’s words.

“So, he just thinks of me as a friend and nothing more. Just friends. No feelings? Why does my heart ache this much after knowing this?” Jungkook thought to himself. Just by thinking about that makes him feels sick.

“Taehyung-ah, we’re not forcing you to get married this instant. Just think about it. Take your time to make your decision,” Mr Kim said.

“Jungkook! Why are not saying anything?!” Taehyung said to Jungkook when he realized that the later has been quiet in his seat.

Jungkook snapped from his own thought and his gaze meet with Taehyung’s.

“You don’t love me, right? We don’t love each other, right? So, we don’t have to marry with each other okay? You too only think of me as a friend, right? I-I ..”

“Only if you knew Tae”

“Kim Taehyung!” Jungkook suddenly snapped.

“My heart hurts so much! Screw this!”

Jungkook abruptly stands and grabs Taehyung’s hand.

“What are you doing?” Taehyung retaliates.

“Just follow me! Appa, eomma, Kim Appa and Eomma, please excuse us for a while,” Jungkook said and left the room with Taehyung.

 

“Yah! Let me go!” Taehyung tried to escape from Jungkook’s grasp but it was fruitless.

After a while, they arrived at the sky lounge. Jungkook released Taehyung’s hand and the latter hastily moved away from him.

“Jeon Jungkook, why are you bringing me here?!” Instead of getting an answer, Jungkook hugged him.

“Shut up will you!” Taehyung is speechless. He calmed his breath down because after hearing the news his heartbeat has soared up and he’s out of breath due to his panic condition.

“Jungkook”

“Shut up!” Jungkook tightened the hug, worried that if he let Taehyung go he will lose him.

“You don’t agree with our parents’ plan, right? We barely know each other and we don’t even like each other. We’re just friends, right? Tell me, Jungkook! I-I can’t do this. You’re young too! I can’t, we can’t ….”

Getting impatient with the blonde’s attitude, Jungkook broke the hug and cupped the latter’s face.

“Kim Taehyung you’re hurting me and you seriously make me mad!”

“Jungkook, I …” Taehyung tried to speak but he is being stopped when Jungkook kissed him on the lips. Taehyung was too shocked with the sudden kiss, so he clutched onto Jungkook’s firm chest for support.

“Kim Taehyung I like you” Jungkook said after he broke the kiss then he felt a slap across his cheek.

“Idiot!” Taehyung is now crying and Jungkook tried to hug him.

“No! Don’t come near me Jungkook!” Jungkook suddenly realized about what he had done to the blonde haired and felt guilty.

“Tae, I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that” Jungkook said and walked a step closer towards the crying Taehyung. Jungkook sighed.

“Tae listen. I want to tell you something. I’m supposed to tell you this after the dinner but things don’t turn out well.” Jungkook tried to hold Taehyung’s hand but he refused to.

“Kim Taehyung, I like you. I like you so much.”

Taehyung stared at Jungkook with his teary eyes.

“What are talking about Jungkook? D-don’t play around!” Taehyung said in between his sobs. Jungkook gripped his hair in frustration.

“I’m not playing around. I like you! I’ve liked you since the first day we met. It sounds cheesy but yes, I do fall in love with you at first sight Tae. You don’t know how much I want you to be my boyfriend heck I want you to be more than that. I want you to be my life partner. I love you Kim Taehyung!”

“Jungkook I…”

“No, you listen to me. Kim Taehyung I really like you. Ever since you came into my life, I can’t stop thinking about you because you held a special place in my heart. I know this sounds stupid and you might think that I’m being too fast but I’m telling you the truth. Why do you think I made that deal with you? Because I want you to be with me. I told you earlier that I made you annoyed so that I can get your attention, right? Yes, I want your attention, Kim Taehyung because I, Jeon Jungkook is falling in love with you.” By this time, Jungkook’s voice cracked a bit as he too broke into tears.

“You know what Tae? I am surprised too by our parents’ plan. But at the same time, I felt happy because this is like a way for us to be together. Then again, when you said all those things to our parent, I felt hurt. I am still hurting now Tae. I never thought that you will say things like that. I now know that you just thought of me as a friend and nothing more. It hurts but I’ll accept it. I just want you to know Tae that I like you. No, I love you. I want to say it now so that I won’t regret it later and I understand if you don’t have the same feeling as me. Hell, I’ve heard it all. It’s okay Tae. I hope we can remain as friends and this thing won’t ruin our friendship. Don’t worry, I’ll tell our parents to cut off the plan.” Jungkook is a crying mess but he still turn to face Taehyung and smiled.

“Sorry Tae,” he said and smiled.

“I’ll get going now,” he said again and turned to leave.

“Jungkook wait!” Taehyung’s voice makes Jungkook’s stopped on his track. He wiped his tears and turned to look at the blonde again.

“I hate you Jeon Jungkook! I really hate you!” Taehyung said with fury and Jungkook heart broke at the 2^nd time that night.

“Yeah Tae. I know. I deserved that. You don’t have to….”

Without him realizing, Taehyung is already kissing him. Taehyung wrapped his hands around Jungkook’s neck to bring both of them closer and Jungkook heart explodes.

“You talk a lot Jeon Jungkook” Taehyung said in between the kiss. After about 2 minutes, they finally broke the kiss.

“Tae”

“Pabo! I hate you!”

Jungkook gasped when Taehyung kissed him once again. This time it is just a short sweet kiss.

“Jungkook-ah I’m so sorry! I’m a bad guy! I-I didn’t mean to say all those things. I just can’t think rationally at that time. My brain can’t function because I’m just too shocked by the sudden news and..and” Taehyung broke into tears once again and Jungkook just stand still a few steps away from him, not knowing what to do.

“It was all a lie! What I said was all a lie!”

Taehyung sobbed and hugged Jungkook.

“I-I’m sorry Jungkook for saying such hurtful things to you. I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to say that and I think I *Taehyung looked up to gaze at Jungkook’s dark brown orbs* I might like you too Jungkook,” Taehyung said and blushed. He hid his face on Jungkook’s chest.

“What?”

“I like you too Jungkook” Taehyung said again a bit louder but still with his face on Jungkook’s chest because he is 100 percent sure that his face is a red as tomato right now.

“I can’t believe this,” Jungkook said and wrapped his strong arm around Taehyung’s waist. He buried his face on Taehyung’s soft lock.

“Thank you, Tae. You don’t know how happy am I right now.” Jungkook kissed the blonde’s hair. They stay like that for a while until Taehyung suddenly speak.

“We like each other then” Taehyung smiled at Jungkook.

“Yeah we do” Jungkook smiled at Taehyung back.

“I’m sorry Jungkook. Please forgive me. I felt so bad for saying those things. Please don’t be mad at me.”

Jungkook gently lifts Taehyung’s face so that both of them are facing each other.

“It’s okay honey bunch. I’m not mad at you and I can’t never be mad at you.” Taehyung blushed and slapped Jungkook’s chest.

“I said don’t call me that!” Taehyung whined and Jungkook pulled him for a kiss.

“But I like calling you that.” Jungkook winked at Taehyung and laughed when Taehyung bit his arm.

“You took my first kiss, second kiss and third kiss Jeon Jungkook! Take responsibility!” Taehyung huffed cutely and Jungkook just chuckled.

“Well, I am planning to take the responsibility honey bunch,” Jungkook replied and kissed Taehyung’s forehead.

“Pabo!”

“I’m your pabo!”

“Cheese!”

“I’m your cheese!” and Taehyung burst out laughing.

“Stop it Jeon!”

“And why should I stop Jeon?”

“Hello, I’m still a Kim, okay”

“Well, you’re going to be a Jeon soon” Jungkook wrapped his hand around Taehyung’s waist and rest his chin on Taehyung’s shoulder.

Taehyung blushed and hit Jungkook’s arm.

“Gosh! Stop with the teasing. Let’s go to our parents. We’ve been gone for too long. They must have been worried.”

“Alright honey bunch”

“Yah!”

The Kims and The Jeons are waiting nervously in the dining room. Suddenly the door creaked open revealing the pair with a gloomy aura.

“Taehyung! Jungkook! Are you guys okay?” Madam Jeon asked worriedly.

“Nae eomma, we’re okay,” Jungkook replied and he sighed.

“Sons. Sorry if we’re selfish by forcing you into this marriage for our own benefits. It’s okay we understand if you guys don’t want to marry with each other. We won’t force you guys anymore,” Mr Kim said.

Taehyung put on a sad face.

“Eomma, appa, thank you for understanding. Jungkook and me really don’t want to follow this plan,” Taehyung said with a glum face.

Madam Jeon and Madam Kim sighed in defeat.

“It’s okay sweetie. Eomma understand. It is such a selfish request from us,” Madam Kim said and took Taehyung’s hand into her’s.

“But, eomma”

“Yes Jungkook?”

“Taehyung and I don’t want to follow this plan but we WANT to do this plan. We will get married eomma, appa!” Jungkook said excitedly and Taehyung laughed.

“Gotcha! Eomma, you got tricked by us.” Taehyung laughed and both the mothers just shook their heads.

“You got me sons!” Madam Jeon said and later everyone laugh.

 

“So, you guys agree with our plan?” Madam Kim asked excitedly.

“Yes!” Both Taehyung and Jungkook answered simultaneously.

Madam Kim and Madam Jeon cheered.

“So, drive safely fiancée” Jungkook said to Taehyung while holding the latter’s hands.

Suddenly Taehyung is feeling super embarrassed.

“You-you too,” he said cutely.

After the pair announced that they will marry each other, their parents suggested that they engage first and their marriage will be in one month. The fun part is that Madam Kim and Madam Jeon already prepared the engagement rings and they brought them at the dinner. So now, Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook is officially engaged.

“Good night”

“Good night too”

“I will miss you!”

“Me too”

“I love you Kim Taehyung”

Taehyung blushed.

“I love you too Jeon Jungkook” with that Jungkook pulled Taehyung for a goodbye kiss.
