There was literally nothing that could dampen Frankie’s mood.
She was proud of herself for holding her ground against Shuya but she could see sincerity in his eyes; she might have been admittedly naïve, but she felt strongly about Shuya’s honesty. He was hers again, explicitly this time, and she was gliding through the sky on cloud nine.
She was beaming when she left AIASF’s grounds to go to work at her new job that evening, at a café just outside of the campus, and she provided customers with some of the best customer service she had ever given at a job before; this garnered more tips for her, and she accepted her blessings as they came. It was seven in the evening when she was allotted her break; she ordered half of a turkey sandwich from the kitchen and continued working for a little bit while she waited for it to be prepared, wiping down tables and fetching small things for customers.
The front door opened and she looked up out of reflex, pausing at the sight of Shuya entering the café; his eyes sought her out and he stopped a few steps into the small building, smiling and waving a little – Frankie smiled in return, feeling her mood lift to the ceiling. Her order was called and she stopped cleaning tables, going to wash her hands before retrieving her food and a drink and heading over to a table near the storefront windows; Shuya met her there, taking the drink and setting it on the table before taking a seat in front of her.
