Shuya had just been arriving to Trader Joe’s for a six-hour shift when he had run into Frankie; for the entirety of his shift his mind was stuck on her, on the sadness on her face when she looked at him, and the words she had said.   It hadn’t been the first time that he had been caught by a girlfriend – San Francisco was unsurprisingly small for a guy like him – and it wasn’t the first time that a girl had broken up with him for it, but it was the first time that it had affected him so greatly, or at all, for that matter.
