You fervently looked around. Finally the taxi turned the corner and you got in. You only had

one destination in mind: your hometown in Busan. The taxi stopped at the train station, where

you quickly bought a ticket and climbed into the train. Your heart only stopped beating madly

when the train started and the gentle rocking had calmed you.

It had been nearly 10 years since your last visit, your father had kept you in Seoul because of

his work. You chuckled to yourself, if being drunk and gambling everyday was work then your

father filled all requirements. Now that you were 17 you decided to take your life into your

own hands and see your Aunt  back in Busan. Unfortunately it might be awkward because you

had never met, and only had the scrap of address that your father had kept.

 After 3 hours you grab your bags and jump onto the train platform. On your way to your aunt's

house you stop at the local beach. "Ah~ the air is fresh" you exclaim happily.

You gladly take of your shoes, and squish your feet in the sand, sighing with pleasure. It was

already getting dark and you didn't want to pop up in your aunt's house late but it was just so

relaxing. Your mouth turned up in pleasure. "Oh!" You quickly covered your mouth and turned

round checking to see if anyone saw you. Unpleasant memories filled your mind.

*You couldn't possibly think that people want to see your face? I'm telling you this as your

friend. Trust me, you'd be doing yoursself a favour, don't ever smile* 

These words had been ringing in your ears for the last 10 years and had been the last thing

your best friend Eun-jeong had given you before you moved. Being seven years old at the time

you took it to heart as advice from a friend. In fact, you disliked opening up to others, and up till

now you hadn't really had a chance to. Life in Seoul had not been welcoming, and at first with your

old-fashioned clothes, short stature, and Busan accent you had been easily ostracized by your

classmates. Things had continued on until you had lost your cheerful smile, and had turned

quiet, looking no one in the eye and refusing to speak but the bare necessities. 

You shook your head to clear your mind.

You hurry back and call a taxi, jamming your feet back into your shoes on the way, but you

trip and fall. You scrape your knee badly on the gravel, looking to see why you tripped. 

A person lay near the end of a log his long legs splayed across the ground. To your

surprise, he slowly got up and pointed at your knee, "Sorry." 

You just quickly shrug your shoulders and hurry to the taxi, your cheeks ablaze. He had been

extremely good looking, with sand lightly speckling his dark hair. But you barely registered

that, instead his eyes that locked with yours had intrigued you.

They were like deep pools and you quickly looked away.

In the taxi, you calm yourself, and slowly the car drives to your Aunt's house. You knew that you

looked far from your best, which wasn't saying much, but with your bloody knee, sandy hair, and 

ripped capris, you knew that this wasn't going to be the best first impression. You just hope that

your Aunt will be understanding to you coming to live with her especially since you had never met

before.
