━ { nothing into something

Yumi stretched as night class ended, Seungwan waved bye as they went their different ways at the gates. The leader walked to her bus stop where a couple other students were, she pulled out her phone as she waited. The Final Showcase App finished loading, clicking on the battles tab she scrolled till she saw BTS on a video. Clicking on it she placed her headphones on, as it loaded. Screams of fans filled her ears as she got on her bus, she sat in the back as the boys filled the stage. A smile spread on her face as the music started.

As the song reached the chorus she felt someone sit next to her, looking over she noticed Yoongi with his headphones in and reading his notebook. She looked away and watched the performance, a smile still on her face.

As it came to an end, she went to her playlist and pressed play, when her left headphone was moved.

“Was it good?” Yoongi asked his notebook tucked in his arms, Yumi looked at him and nodded.

“But, someone’s rap could have been better.” She said, he smiled at his hands before agreeing.

“Ah, yeah Namjoon could have tried more.” He said looking at Yumi whom chuckled and nodded.

“Yoongi-shi, since we don’t know if we are going battle at all. Can you look over this for me?” She said, as she pulled out a notebook, anyone that knew her, knew it was where she wrote all over her lyrics.

“Of course, Um, if you read over this. It’s a solo I’m working on for the Final Exam.” He said handing her his notebook. The two exchanged their notebooks, with smiles. “Ah. This is me. It’s still weird not getting off on the same stop anymore.” Yoongi said, referring to when they were younger and rode the bus together before she moved.

“Hm. See you tomorrow.” She said, and waved as he got off the bus. She put her left head phone back in and watched the outside world as the bus drove to the next stop, a smile never leaving her face.

“Neko! Neko!” Jiho called as soon as she unlocked the door, rolling her eyes the student removed her shoes.

“What?” She asked and stood still in the doorway seeing her brothers dancing around, their mother laughing from her spot on the couch.

“Me gustas tu! Gustas tu!” Jiseok sang terribly as the song played in the background, sighing Yumi walked to her room.

Ms. Lee ran a hand through her hair as she rewatched evaluations for her vocal classes, some improved and some didn’t at all. Sighing she began scoring the student on her screen, a knock on the door broke her out of her trance.

“It’s open.” She said, as she wrote notes down, as the door opened. “Oh Pd-nim.” She said once she lifted her head, he grabbed a chair and sat in front of the vocal coach.

“I was thinking. What if we have the girls submit song lyrics? You did it in school. Hence why those girls won.” Jung PD said leaning back in the chair a binder in his lap, Ms. Lee thought about it and nodded. “Good. Cause, these are lyrics they have thrown away. There is potential.” He handed her the black binder, taking it from the older male Ms. Lee opened it to a large set of papers with creases from crumbling and folding the papers.

“I can do what I can with these. Any that stood out to you? Composition wise?” She asked scanning the papers, Jung PD nodded.

“There is a few, only two are titled. In the Same Place and Fingertip. Completely different then what they performed at their mini concert.” He said, Ms. Lee nodded.

“Do you know who wrote what?” She asked grabbing her own lyric binder and pulling pieces from the one he gave her.

“No idea. Let’s see what we can do with these though.” He said, MS. Lee nodded, “I’m going to finish editing the MR some Lauren and Areum can choose placement tomorrow.” Leaving the room, the vocal coach sighed while looking at the lyrics.

“Let’s hope these can become something.”
