The Training

Fairies

"Hey, Hayoung-ah. Aren't you in....a lot of pain?!" said Namjoo shocked upon seeing it.

"There's hospitals in heaven too right? Let's go find one now." asked Bomi.

"Let's forget about spa. This is a serious wound." said Naeun.

"How in the world did you even.....get that?" said Eunji as she looked at the tall maknae with concern.

"I don't need to go to the hospital for that. It's a wound that's been there for years."

"Wait....what?" said Eunji as her eyes widened.

"You mean...." said Namjoo.

"It's not harmful. I don't know. I did something with my powers to stop it and it's been like that forever. You don't need to keep staring at me like that...." said Hayoung feeling embarassed and uncomfortable with the stares she was recieving.

"No, I'm not staring at your wound." said Bomi with a blank expression.

"Then what are you staring at?" asked Hayoung.

"This." smirked Bomi as she suddenly poked Hayoung's chest.

"U-Unnie!" said Hayoung as she quickly hugged her own chest as if blocking it from Bomi's hands.

"Wow, you were hiding these big stuff under the jacket?" said Namjoo as she stared at too.

"You've grown a lot, I'm proud." teased Eunji.

"S-Stop it!" said Hayoung as her face grew red.

"You're getting embarassed over such a simple thing. Aigoo, you're so cute Hayoung-ah!" laughed Namjoo.

"Hey, hey, wanna compare with mine? Yours will definitely win!" joked Bomi.

"Oh my god, Bomi, no" facepalmed Eunji as things began to get noisy.

Thanks to the little joke, everyone was able to undress themselves comfortably as they proceeded to the shower area and later, the hot baths where the five girls simply dunked themselves into the steaming water and relaxed. But the moment they stepped into the water, something magical happened. The scars and bruises Naeun had, slowly disappeared into thin air as if it was never there. It appeared to be a pool filled with special water that healed the injuries suffered in battle. The place surrounded by a beautiful scenery that reminded them of home, the paintings and carvings on the wall were beautifully decorated with various art pieces. Naeun couldn't help herself but to stare and appreciate the art as she had always had an interest in the creative side. Bomi and Eunji on the other hand were like elementary school boys, playing and splashing hot water against each other, creating a mess in the empty spa. Hayoung and Namjoo on the other hand just stared into the blank space as they allowed the water to sink their bodies halfway.

For awhile, there was a moment of silence as the 93-line finally settled down and got quiet. As the five relaxed in the hot spa, it got them thinking about things. The fact that they were not humans, the new life awaiting them and the thought of war, it was worrying but they began to slowly accept their fate. After all, being a fairy seemed much better than living as a human.

"I miss Chorong unnie." mumbled Bomi out of nowhere.

"I wonder why you're so clingy to her. You're usually not like that Bom-ah." said Eunji as she looked at her friend.

"That's right, Bomi unnie isn't usually like that." said Naeun.

"She said she'll come back. Don't worry and just chill." said Hayoung.

"Unnies." said Namjoo.

"What?" asked Eunji.

"I'm hungry." replied Namjoo to which the others sighed.

"Again?" laughed Naeun.

"Actually, I think I'm hungry too. Let's go eat some more after the spa." said Bomi.

"You two should really just be best friends." said Eunji with a smile.

All of the sudden, the door burst open as a girl randomly walked in. She seemed very familar at first glance as she stared at them.

"Oh?! Chorong unnie!" smiled Bomi widely as she stood up and waved towards her, revealing her body.

"W-W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" shouted Chorong in a dolphin-like scream as she covered her eyes, surprised upon what she saw.

"What? Is my body too beautiful for you?" joked Bomi as she suddenly posed in the middle of nowhere, causing the others to laugh.

"S-Shut up Bom-ah! I came to bring you guys back home. I was waiting for you at the dorm but I figured that you girls got lost." said Chorong, still covering her eyes.

"Okay unnie. Come on kids, mom has come to pick us up~" teased Eunji as she too, got out from the water, revealing her body.

"D-Don't come near me!" said Chorong, embarassed and not wanting to see their bodies. It was clear that she was a very conservative girl and found these very racy.

"I'll call you mom from now on." teased Namjoo as the others proceeded to move back to the locker rooms, changing back to their clothes. Chorong who covered her eyes since the beginning, peeked through a small opening and noticed Hayoung's wounds.

"Hayoung-ah." said Chorong as she signalled the maknae to come over.

"What?"

"Just stay still. Don't move." said Chorong in a serious tone as she carefully placed her palm onto Hayoung's stomach to which, the maknae was surprised.

"U-Unnie, what are you doing?" said Hayoung as her face grew red, feeling uncomfortable.

"I'm helping you." said Chorong as suddenly, a blue flame appeared from her hands and it slowly seeped inside her wound. Slowly like magic, the wound disappeared by itself.

"Unnie..." said Hayoung, feeling thankful yet surprised at the leader's magical abilities.

"The place you were in isn't a spa. It's an area where soldiers from war return to heal themselves. Your wound however is different, you need special flames to heal it, like mine." said Chorong as the blue flame evaporated from her palms.

"Wow no fair unnie! You have such a good view!" teased Bomi to which Eunji laughed, knowing what she meant.

"Huh? What do you mean Bom-ah?" asked Chorong confused.

"Unnie, ignore them please." sighed Hayoung, having enough of the unnie's teasing.

"Obviously she's talking about her chest." grinned Eunji as she pointed.

"Ah....well....sorry about that...Hayoung-ah..." said Chorong as she too, realised that her face was right in front of her chest due to her short height and took a step backwards.

The girls laughed, finding it hilarious yet adorable at how the two were shy over such things. Eventually, the leader had to calm everyone down by threatening them. Indeed at times, Chorong felt like she was baby-sitting five big kids. It was quite a hassle to control them but thanks to that, life seemed to be more cheerful and bright. It was definitely a 360-change from the days where Chorong was all alone without a team to rely on.

Eventually, Chorong brought the girls back to the dorm and taught them the proper directions, because heaven was just too complicated. There, the leader ordered everyone to sit in a circle as she had something important to talk about. The girls somehow knew what she meant, because Chorong's original mission was to gather to five reincarnated fairies. With that complete, what is next? The girls trusted and followed whatever Chorong said, because she is the leader.

"I'm sure that all of you know by now, what your fate is...right?" asked Chorong in a calm manner. The girls nodded in response.

"Thunder Fairy, Yoon Bomi. Ice Fairy, Son Naeun. Nature Fairy, Jung Eunji. Air Fairy, Oh Hayoung and Water Fairy, Kim Namjoo. I haven't been able to do the proper introductions and it's a little awkward to say this but, welcome to the team. I'm your leader, Park Chorong, The Fire Fairy and from now on, we will be staying with each other for eternity. We'll be together every single day, eating together, taking baths together, going on battles and missions together, let's keep in mind that we shouldn't have any bad blood between each other alright? If there is something you want to ask, feel free to do so. Do not keep secrets among each other and do not fight. Understand?"

"Yes mother~" said the five in unison.

"I'm not your mother." sighed Chorong. In fact, the girl was worried whether they would do well in their tests or whether they were okay with their new lives. Even when she was away, she couldn't help but to think about them. At some point, she did seem like a mother who was concerned over the wellbeing of her five children.

"I'm sure Hoya-ssi went through the rules with you. I hope that you would behave yourselves."

"Yeah like we shouldn't fall in love." blurted Bomi out of the blue. Upon hearing that, Chorong stared at her confused.

"You idiot!" whispered Eunji as she quickly covered Bomi's mouth.

"Oh yeah, I wasn't supposed to reveal that." whispered Bomi as she realised what she had done. But it was too late. Chorong had a somehow, scary smile plastered on her face as she looked at Bomi.

"Where did you hear that from?"

"Uh......Uh.....Eunji told me that!" said Bomi as she pointed towards her friend.

"WHAT?! I DIDN'T SAY THAT!" said Eunji, feeling wrongly accused.

"Mr.Hoya told us." confessed Namjoo. She was indeed like the good daughter who didn't want to get in trouble and revealed the truth.

"Oh no..." said Hayoung as she took a glance. Chorong sighed, realising that Hoya told them about her whole history.

"Alright. Looks like I'll have to talk to him later."

"But unnie, it's not like we would fall in love with each other right?" asked Hayoung innocently. Upon hearing her words, Bomi and Eunji flinched. It was a complicated feeling they couldn't describe. They weren't even sure why they felt that way.

"Looks like I won't be able to marry Superman." sighed Namjoo with a pout.

"It's not like you're going to meet him anyway." said Naeun to which Namjoo stared at her.

"HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT TO MY SUPERMAN?!" said Namjoo with her eyes and mouth wide open. For some reason, the girls couldn't help but laugh upon seeing her expression.

"Anyways, all of you will start your training tommorow so please, sleep early." said Chorong as she stood up and proceeded to walk into one of the bedrooms. But all of the sudden, Bomi grabbed hold of her hand.

"Wait, are you going to be there tommorow?" asked Bomi.

"Hoya will be in charge of the training tommorow."

"Why isn't it you unnie? Aren't you the leader? You're supposed to train us, not that guy." pouted Bomi.

"Bom-ah. Do you miss me?" asked Chorong with a smile.

"I miss you." answered Bomi boldly, staring deep into her eyes. She was serious. There was a momentary silence as the two just looked at each other.

"I-I'll think about it. Go and sleep Bom-ah. Good night." stuttered Chorong as she quickly closed the door. Bomi frowned and went back to the living room where the other four girls gathered. They were engrossed in a rather, deep yet random conversation whether there's fast food in Heaven.

"Stop forcing her to come. Unnie might be busy with other things too." said Eunji.

"I know but....we don't see her often.....I want to know about her more....." pouted Bomi.

"Bomi...are you-" Before Eunji could even continue, Bomi shook her head. She then proceeded to mouth the words "I'll tell you later" to which Eunji understood that this was something she could only share with her.

"What are the two of you whispering about?" asked Namjoo innocently.

"Oh, we were talking about where we're going to sleep later. There's only two rooms left." said Eunji, acting as if nothing happened.

"Then, let's play a game and decide the roommates." suggested Hayoung to which the girls agreed. Eventually, it was decided that Hayoung and Naeun would share the first room while the other three shared the bigger room. With that settled, they each went into their rooms and spent their first night, in Heaven. They couldn't really sleep so in the end, they chatted over the night as they got to know each other better. Thanks to that, it looks like the girls have bonded and became more comfortable with each other.

But no one knew that, Chorong was awake all this while. Hiding in her room, her heart skipped her beat. She was confused as to why she was feeling that way. All she could remember were those words that escaped from Bomi's mouth "I miss you" and the way she stared at her in all seriousness.

"W-why am I like this?" mumbled Chorong to herself in a daze.

"No, I must be really tired. I should just go to sleep." mumbled Chorong as she thought that she was behaving like that due to fatigue. She wasn't sure why she was behaving like that, surely she must've been working too hard lately. The answer has to be, fatigue.

The next morning had arrived, Chorong personally woke the members up one by one and even made breakfast for them. She was well-aware that they probably have yet to become accustomed to their new life as a "fairy". She had informed them that she will drop by to watch their training as she left somewhere, saying that she had things to attend to.

"Unnie!" said Bomi as she stopped Chorong from going, once again.

"What is it Bom-ah?"

"You should at least tell us where you're going. Didn't you say that we shouldn't be keeping secrets from each other?" asked Bomi with a pout.

"She's right unnie." said Eunji.

"It's not fair you know." said Namjoo.

"I'm going to be meeting a few of the superiors to discuss about your future. Fair enough?" smiled Chorong. She couldn't beat them.

"Wow, superiors. Unnie, I thought you were the strongest among everyone?" asked Eunji in curiousity.

"You mean there's people that's even stronger than Chorong unnie?" asked Namjoo.

"Don't worry unnie, you'll always be the strongest to me." smiled Bomi.

"Stop being so cheesy sheesh, you want me to punch you?" joked Eunji as she raised her fist.

"Oh? You wanna fight? It's been awhile since we did that!" smirked Bomi as she rolled up her sleeves.

"Since Bomi unnie is distracted, I'm going to take her food." giggled Namjoo as she secretly took some pieces of food from Bomi's plate.

"Hey, you should share some with me unnie." said Hayoung as she handed her plate to hers.

"Give me too." said Naeun as she did the same.

"If all of you are taking it, i'm going to be left with NOTHING!" shouted Namjoo, taking Bomi's plate for herself. Eventually, the kids got noisy and started bickering with each other again. Chorong, who looked at the situation sighed. She never imagined that she would be bringing back five, big kids rather than, five, mature adults.

"They sure are a noisy bunch." said a voice from behind. It was Hoya who arrived to pick the girls up.

"Oh, Hoya-ssi." greeted Chorong with a bow. Upon his arrival, the girls freezed and stared at him.

"Ah, don't stare at me like that. Just continue what you're doing. We're leaving in 10 minutes." said Hoya with a nervous laughter to which the girls continued to bicker about. Seeing Hoya who seemed defenseless in front of the five girls, Chorong couldn't help but laugh. In a way, she could understand how he felt and wished him luck in trying his best to teach them.

"I heard that you told them about my past."

"They really don't know how to keep secrets huh?" sighed Hoya as he tried to avoid eye-contact with her, while scratching his head out of anxiety.

"Thank you Hoya-ssi." smiled Chorong.

"Hm?" said Hoya as he tilted his head.

"I think it was better that way. We shouldn't be keeping any secrets from each other so they should know about my past. Even though..thinking about "them" stings my heart a little but their sacrifices won't be forgotten. After all, they're all reliving their lives in those five girls."

"It eases my heart to see you happier again Chorong-ssi." smiled Hoya.

"Don't say that. Anyways, I've got to get going. Take good care of them for me, Hoya-ssi." said Chorong as she waved goodbye to the girls and left. Bomi stared at the entrance until she could no longer see Chorong and took a glance at Hoya. She didn't feel comfortable seeing Chorong getting friendly with Hoya. She wasn't sure why her heart felt that way.

"They look good together unnie." said Namjoo innocently while chewing her food.

"They make a good couple." said Naeun.

"N-No, they don't!" said Bomi in an angry tone.

"Why are so angry for?" said Namjoo surprised at her behavior.

"Hey, eat up. We gotta leave for training now. Can't keep our teacher waiting." said Eunji, smoothly changing the topic. She figured out the meaning behind Bomi's emotions and decided to find a time to talk to her in private. After all, she too had things to share with her. The dongsaengs listened and did as they were told. Without Chorong around, it looked like Eunji took over the role and managed to settle the hyper kids. She was like the father that took care of the kids while the mother wasn't around.

Soon, the girls were brought into a training field that stretched endlessly towards the wide horizon. There were various objects located in seperate sections as the girls were segregated into different parts that had different training equipment catered to their abilities. Bomi was brought to a field with several targets. There, she was asked to use her thunder abilities to hit them one by one. Eunji was brought to a large garden filled with wilted plants and asked to train her healing abilities. Naeun on the other hand, stood in an empty room where Hoya asked her to try and sculpture anything that came to her mind. Namjoo was left in front of a swimming pool as she was asked to learn and manipulate the water. Finally, Hayoung was in a room where various miscellaneous objects scattered all over. There, she was asked to lift the objects one by one and try to hit the targets painted against the wall.

The five girls each had their own individual training as they slowly figured how to control their own powers and adapt it to their own liking.

"Woah! This is so cool!" said Bomi in excitement as she discovered the endless possibilites she could do with her thunder abilities. From building a basic thunderbolt to forming her own thunder-like sword, the girl had a lot of fun experimenting.

Eunji was impressed that her singing could heal not just plants, animals but humans as well. But she figured if there was more to just healing. As she raised her arms up high and slowly clenched her fists tightly, the ground suddenly shook.

"This is.....?" said Eunji as she carefully tested out, trying to discover more of her powers hidden inside.

"Try to put your thought into it Eunji-ssi. You can feel it, healing is just the start of your powers. You can control anything that reaches the voices of nature, let it be the earth, the trees or even the call of animals, everything is upon your own will." encouraged Hoya.

Eunji took a deep breath and lifted her arms once again. To her surprise, large rocks began to break from the ground and tree roots shot upwards like claws ready to catch its enemies. As she changed the position of her wrist, a giant hole suddenly formed in the ground. It was difficult to control at first but with interest, Eunji learnt slowly that her abilities were far from just healing.

Naeun on the other hand, had no problem in forming ice. With creativity flourishing in her mind, she could create just about anything. From flying ice knives to a gigantic wall that stood as tall as 10 feet, it was indeed a powerful weapon. At the pool, Namjoo learnt that water flows just like the state of her emotions. If she was happy, the water was calm and peaceful. But if she were to put her thoughts clearly and think about things that made her angry or sad, her water abilities can turn aggressive and powerful enough to be compared to the size of a magnitude tsunami. Lastly, Hayoung had no problems with the training as she was already used to controlling her powers. Levitation isn't all, she knew how to manipulate air in terms of removing the oxygen or producing a powerful force of wind similar to the strength of a hurricane.

The training keep the girls occupied as they learnt more and more about the limits of their powers. Chorong who came to watch them as promised, hid in secret and observed. She was impressed at how fast they picked up. Hoya too, were surprised at how quick they learnt. Surely, it wouldn't take long until they are ready for an actual battle. For the past week, the girls kept training from day to night. With time only to rest at their dorm, they were strong-willed and fire burned in their eyes to become stronger each day. They had completely forgotten about their life back at Earth and slowly, became accustomed to life in Heaven.

One night at the dorm, Bomi and Eunji were left alone at the dorm as Namjoo, Naeun and Hayoung wanted to train again while Chorong had her own work to do.

"Bomi-ya."

"What?"

"How's training going?"

"Fun. Although we don't really see each other but, I can tell that everyone is working hard."

"I wonder what are we going to do next once we're done. You think we're ready to fight?"

"Well, that's our fate isn't it. We're destined to fight."

"True...." said Eunji as she paused and glanced at Bomi, wondering whether to ask her now.

"What are you staring at me for?" asked Bomi.

"Oops, got caught."

"As always. What? Is it about that?"

"Yeah, that."

"It's too obvious ain't it? It's the same with you too, Eunji-ya."

"No hard feelings. Tell me. You like Chorong unnie don't you?" asked Eunji as she looked at her.

"Tell me, you like Naeun don't you?"

"We know each other way too well huh?" smiled Eunji.

"I mean, there's nothing wrong liking a girl right? You just can't help it."

"What are you going to do Bom-ah? You heard the rules. Love is like a taboo word here."

"Pfft, who cares?" said Bomi cooly as she raised her legs up on the bed.

"That's the Yoon Bomi I know." smiled Eunji.

"So, when are you going to confess?" asked Bomi.

"I'll wait for the right time. These days, Naeun's been really close with Hayoung. Of course, I'm glad they're getting along well but...."

"I know what you mean. Chorong unnie has been so busy with other things, I barely even have time to talk to her at all." pouted Bomi.

"Love takes time Bom-ah. Don't rush or you'll make mistakes." smiled Eunji.

"But what if.....she doesn't accept me?"

"You ask me? I wouldn't even know if Naeun feels the same about me."

"Ah, if they don't accept us, let's just love each other." joked Bomi.

"No way, I don't wanna date you. You don't bathe and you're noisy all the time." joked Eunji.

"I ain't dating you either, it's difficult to wake you up and you're like a tomboy" joked Bomi.

Even though it was a serious conversation, the 93-line friends always found ways to lighten up the mood by making sarcastic jokes at each other. They were truly the definition of "best friends".

~X~

The next day, Hoya assembled the girls together at the training field. Chorong too, was present. Of course, Bomi felt at ease seeing her there and had to control herself from smiling. Eunji who glanced at her friend tried her best to hold her laughter, it was adorable to see knowing that she was the only one who knew about Bomi's true feelings towards the Fire Fairy.

"It's been about a week since all of you started training and I must say, I'm impressed." said Hoya as he clapped by himself but stopped, finding it awkward as no one else clapped together with him.

"I think the five of you are ready to take on your second test." smiled Chorong.

"What? There's another test?" whined Bomi.

"Before that, here." said Chorong as she handed out silver rings to each of the girls. They each had rings with their powers engraved in a form of a symbol and their name at the side.

"What's this unnie?" asked Eunji as she put in on her index finger.

"It's a customary tradition for all six fairies to wear the same rings. It isn't just a gift but it is also important when you're going back down there." said Hoya.

"Wait, what do you mean by "going back down there?" asked Namjoo confused.

"Your second test is an actual mission ordered by the superiors. They wanted to test your abilities before sending you out for battle. Of course, I'll be following you along since I am your leader. Don't worry about it" said Chorong while taking a glance at Bomi, as if purposely sending a hint to her.

"Wow, a mission. It feels like I'm playing a video game." said Hayoung with a smile. For the past week, Hayoung had opened her heart to the girls. She became happier and cheerful, just like how she originally was ten years ago. Of course, this improvement made the girls relieved and glad that she was smiling more than usual. She was no longer the cold, quiet girl that refused to talk or express herself.

"Can we like sell the rings instead? I think we'll get rich by doing that." joked Namjoo.

"That's an awesome idea Namjoo-ya! Let's make lots of money and eat all the food that we want!" said Bomi as this was the start of the kids getting noisy and playful again. Watching them get excited, both Chorong and Hoya sighed. They had already gotten used to the beagle-like girls who had very short-attention spans.

"Listen carefully guys." said Chorong in a straight tone as she looked at them with a cold stare. Immediately, the girls turned quiet, frightened by their leader's scary aura.

"Here's your first mission. We have a demon on the loose. He managed to escape from the closed hell gate and travelled down to Earth to haunt and hurt the mortals. He's been hiding by disguising himself as a human that goes by the name of "Choi Tae Joon". It's simple. Find him and bring him back here. Our superiors will handle the rest." informed Hoya.

"Bring him back? How?" asked Eunji.

"Using this." said Chorong as she brought out a metal-glass tube.

"Huh? What?" said Namjoo confused as the others tried to hold in their laughter due to her expression.

"Once you manage to injure him, you have to extract his soul out from the human body of Choi Tae Joon and put him inside here. Don't worry, just open the tube and it will automatically his soul back in." said Hoya. The girls just stared at him confused.

"You'll know it once you find him. But one word of advice. Never take out your rings." warned Hoya.

"There's a reason why all of you must wear your rings. By wearing them, you will remain invisible to the mortals and not attract any attention. We're not here to sight-see, we're here on a mission. Please remember that." said Chorong.

"So you're saying that we shouldn't even interact with the people that we once knew back then?" asked Eunji as she slowly began to figure things out.

"I don't know what will happen down there and it's best to keep a low-profile. It may seem like a week here but in Earth, a year has passed." said Hoya.

"Wait.....A YEAR?!" said Bomi, Eunji and Namjoo in unison.
