Haerin and Jongdae both knew the other had feelings for eachother.

"I wanna take things slow this time. I'm not even sure if I'm going to give you a second chance" haerin said setting her latte down

"slow? I though I was taking things really slow last time. I mean it took me a month to ask you to be my girlfriend properly" he said scratching the back of his neck

She sighed and picked at the cardboard sleeve of her latte, "look Jongdae. You really hurt me last time. You didn't trust me"

"I know and I really regret it. I realized how awful I was to you and I regret how I treated you. I didn't know what I had until I lost it. And I was so heartbroken everytime I saw you with Taemin. and I realized how much I impacted you negatively and I was being selfish and didn't think about your feelings" he said looking into her eyes

Haerin could see the sincerity in his eyes and sighed, "We can start off with being friends and have friendly study dates"

"study dates?" he said tilting his head cutely

"yes, in public places, so theres no funny business. I need time in order to forgive you again, just to be my friend"

Jongdae smiled gently at her and grabbed her hands with his, "I'll make sure to gain your trust again. I know I messed up big time"

Since it was exam season Jongdae and Haerin met often to study and do hw together either at the cafe or at Jongdae or Haerin's apartment. 

They were sitting side by side at the dining table as Haerin helped him with his Chinese.

"Didn't you go to China all summer? how is your Chinese still worse than mine?" Haerin chuckled leaning over to look at his worksheet

Jongdae ruffled his hair, "I don't know! I mostly spoke Korean when I was there anyways. A lot of people knew Korean becuase of Kpop"  he said turning towards her

Haerin tilted her head up to get a better look at his face, he was stunning as usual. She noticed his eyes darting to her lips. 

Feeling brave Jongdae slowly closed his eyes and leaned down to place a soft kiss on her lips. When he noticed that she didn't push him away he put more pressure on them, urging her to reply to his kiss. 

Haerin's eyelids fluttered shut as she replied to the kiss. She felt warmth wash over her, she missed the feeling of his soft lips on hers. 

When they pulled away Haerin bit her bottom lip
