V:

  Neighbor stares at her before responding with, “You may call me V.”

          The whole situation is like a crime scene: Jisoo is the victim, Jungkook is the criminal, and everyone else are the bystanders. While everyone looks at the incident, only Jisoo knows what’s really happening. Everyone is too busy focusing on the crook, so no one knows the agony Jisoo goes through.

          “Why aren’t you drinking?” Neighbor asks as he gulps the alcohol. Jisoo falls agape as she takes hold of the cup in front of her. She doesn’t even know how she ended up sitting in the dining table chair of her neighbor. They were practically strangers.

          “But,” Jisoo mumbles, “what should I call you?”

          Neighbor stares at her before responding with, “You may call me V.”

          V? Jisoo thinks. What a strange nickname. More importantly, why won’t he tell me his real name?

          “Aren’t you curious about me?” Jisoo asks. V scans her up and down.

          “Not really,” he tells her as he continues drinking. V’s response leaves Jisoo with hanging wide open. He looks back at her and frees a chuckle. “You give me pleasant company. I like you.” Jisoo smiles at V’s compliment before she lets the burning liquid pass .

          “At times like this,” V says, “you forget them.” Jisoo knew he was referring to Jungkook.

          “What’s she like?” Jisoo asks.

          “She’s..,” V murmurs, “..the person who loved me when I didn’t. Whenever I was down, she’d be the one cheering me up.” An upset laugh came out of him with his expression not changing nor showing a hint of pain. “It was nothing to her though. I was the one who ended up like this.”

          “I’m sorry,” Jisoo says. She looks down and plays with her fingers. Jisoo knows that V is avoiding the questions he’s been wanting to ask because he didn’t want her throwing up flowers all over his place. “I just came back from his wedding,” she ignites, “and I survived.”

          “I’m surprised the petals didn’t eat you alive,” V mentions. Jisoo laughs in return before excusing herself and asking if she could use the bathroom.

          As Jisoo finishes washing her hands in V’s bathroom, she looks around. Viewing at the condition of the bathroom, V was quite nice and tidy for a man. Her eyes glance at the trash can to see a picture of V. Jisoo crouches down to take out the picture. The full picture is of V and the girl he was fighting with the other day. She was the one he loved.

          A faint knock is heard with V asking, “Hey, are you okay?” Jisoo quickly places the picture into the trash can before opening the bathroom door.

          “I’m okay but I think I should leave now,” she says as she grabs her purse and heads towards the door. V follows right behind Jisoo and grabs her wrist before she opens the door. She looks at him with questioning eyes.

          “W-What’s your name?”

          The biggest smile is on Jisoo’s face prior to saying, “You’re curious about me.”

          “I just like your company.”

          “Does that mean we can be friends?”
