3. Commitment
In Search of Unrequited LoveCommitment:
“Why is the atmosphere here so gloomy?” Jimin questions. “Cheer up! Jungkook and Mina just got married.”
Jisoo swallows two of the pills Jaewon provided for her before stepping out of the bathroom stall. Seeing the amount of girls that are retouching their makeup, Jisoo decides that it’s the perfect time to be visiting the bride. It takes real nerves to be visiting the girl who basically ruined your chances with the guy you liked, but Jisoo just loves the feeling of apprehension.
With a light knock, Jisoo walks into the photo room to see Mina with a few of her friends. As the friends turn around to see Jisoo, the room becomes silent as they leave her alone with Mina.
“You came?” Mina asks.
“Of course,” Jisoo replies, “Jungkook is a great friend of mine.” She walks towards Mina to seat herself near the bride. “Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” Mina responds with a genuine smile. Jisoo tries to return the smile, but it wasn’t genuine.
“Ready?” The photographer asks. Jisoo and Mina take a picture together with no tension between the two.
“I’m glad Jungkook is marrying you,” Jisoo says. “You’re a great woman and I hope to be the best aunt to your kids one day.” Only this time, Jisoo’s smile is sincere.
“Thank you,” Mina replies.
The rest of the day goes by with the ceremony. Throughout the whole ceremony, Jisoo tried not to express her feelings as the married couple exchanged their sentimental vows. However, thanks to her friends, Jisoo was constantly reminded that Jungkook is happy with Mina. It made Jisoo feel a bit better to know that Jungkook will spend the rest of his life with the person he loves.
“I live for food,” Chaeyoung says as she stuff her face with food.
“Receptions are always your favorite part of weddings,” Lisa comments as Chaeyoung nods in reply.
