“No no no NO!! Aish seriously are you two really her parents?” Jessica asked furiously seeing the plans that Jiyong and Taeyeon laid out in front of her for Jiyeon’s birthday party

 

“Wae? Don’t all girls like pink? Look! Pink birthday cake, pink balloons, pink birthday dress, we even have pink party hats and pink goodie bags” he explained showing her HIS idea until Teayeon butted in with hers

 

“Ani Sica-ah look. Purple looks much better on Jiyeonnie doesn’t it?” she asked showing her some pictures on her phone with their daughter wearing purple dresses

 

“Really you two… Why don’t I just adopt Jiyeon from you and you just make your own baby Kwon?” Jessica asked exasperatedly making the two of them stutter and blush “You two idiots don’t even know your daughter’s favorite color!”

 

“Bu-but doesn’t she love pink? All girls love pink.” Jiyong asked the two women in front of him looking for confirmation

 

Jessica just shook her head while Taeyeon answered pointing to herself “I like purple remember? Wait Jessi what do you mean Jiyeon’s favorite color? She has a favorite color? Why did she tell you and not us?”

 

“Slow down with the questions Taengoo. First she told me instead of you because she said you two liked pink and purple so she always had pink and purple dresses and clothes…… I can’t believe your little girl I the one thinking of her parents…. do you know her favorite pajamas?” she asked them

 

“Yeah, the bear print ones” Taeyeon immediately answered

 

“Then do you know why she liked them so much?” this time Jessica asked Jiyong

 

“Because he liked….um…. bears?” he answered questioningly making Jessica glare at them in reply

 

“No!! ugh it’s because she likes yellow and those were her only yellow pajamas! Come with me for a bit” she ordered as she led them to one of the guest rooms in her house. When she opened it Jiyong and Taeyeon’s jaws dropped.

 

Yellow. Everything was yellow. Yellow walls, yellow ceiling, yellow bed, yellow covers and pillows, yellow stuffed toys, a small yellow dresser, and even a yellow closet. The complete opposite of the pink room in their house.

 

“What’s with all the yellow Sica-ah?” Taeyeon asked looking around the room

 

“FYI Taeng this is your daughter’s room. I had it renovated just for her because she said your house had no yellow in it. And since she spends so much time here anyways I made this room hers. See all the pictures?” she said pointing to the wall where some pictures and drawings were posted.

 

“Wow you really made an effort for Jiyeon.” Jiyong said while looking at the pictures

 

“Of course, she’s my sister’s daughter, that makes her my niece and since Taeyeon got to be the first one to have a child between us nine I assure you that once the others find out, your daughter would be the most pampered child in idol history” she proudly said “So now do you understand why I won’t let you two do as you wish with Jiyeon’s party?” she asked them once they’ve returned to the living room mumbling to herself about the two’s naivety about their daughter’s preference

 

 

“Thank god you have a fashionista designer for a sister Yeon-ah” Jiyong whispered to Taeyeon as they watched Jessica make notes and combine different designs from magazines and the internet for their daughter’s birthday party.

 

“Yeah, after the party we have to treat Jessica to a meal or plan something for her” she whispered back

 

“Why don’t we make a surprise event for her and Youngbae?” he asked quietly, an idea forming in his mind

 

“Hm? Why not? Did you have anything in mind?” she asked back as she reached for some of the magazines that Jessica was looking at

 

“How about a romantic dinner date? I can reserve the whole restaurant for them. Or we can all go to a resort so that everyone can have fun and we can get the others to help with our plan. I assume that all the girls know about them already right?” he asked her

 

“Yes, she told them too. And I think the resort thing is a good idea. Maybe we can get Youngbae oppa in on the surprise so that he can make plans as well” she suggested smiling as she mulled over their plan

 

“If you think so then…..” he started to answer but broke off when Jessica interrupted them

 

“If you two want to have a private conversation them should I just go out until you finish? It’s your daughter’s party we’re planning here just so you know?” She asked glaring at the both of them, well mostly him, while Taeyeon tried hard to stifle her giggles at being scolded by their friend

 

“Sorry...” both of them apologized sheepishly as Jessica turned back to her work.

 

 

 

“Ok so here’s the plan:

Party theme- Yellow, and because Jiyeon likes fairy tales we can use Princess-type outfits. Meaning you two, as her parents, wear clothes fit for a King and Queen. We’ll prepare gowns and such for the guests to change into at the venue, good thing that only a few are invited including your families and the members from both companies.

The cake- we can have one customized to fit the theme. Maybe a castle of sorts or something related” she read from her notepad

 

“Wait you can’t make a castle cake!” Taeyeon exclaimed suddenly looking at Jiyong, who immediately understood, for support.

 

“Ah she’s right Jess, if you make a castle cake, Jiyeon wouldn’t want to eat it because she wants to live in every castle that she sees” he explained laughing as he remembered their sand castle

 

“Ok so hmmm…. How about a secret garden like cake, you know like the ones they show on TV with flowers, and butterflies, and birds? We’ll have to see a cake designer for this. I think I can ask one of my staffs at the café to find one since they were the ones who found the supplier for our cakes there.” she answered writing it down on her notepad

 

“Next, the venue- have a you thought of a place yet?” she asked, they have all agreed that although they wanted too, they can’t have the party at Jessica’s café because the sudden influx of guests using the backdoor would invite curiosity, and their friend’s cars are not exactly discreet

 

“How about a resort? I can reserve the place we went to for vacation Tae. No one would see us or would book them if I reserve the place for the weekend. And it’s off season so they won’t have that many guests anyway. Everyone can relax after the party since it’s a semi-private resort” Jiyong said not even thinking about how much he would have to spend to book a whole resort

 

“Ani oppa, if we do that then I’ll pitch in as well. I can’t let you pay for everything. And it’s OUR daughter’s 1^st birthday with us” she insisted

 

“Ani…..how about I pay for the venue and you can take care of the party itself. The resort’s restaurant can handle the food.” he answered trying to compromise with her without letting her pay for the venue expenses

 

“Aigoo….fine if that’s what you want then I’ll pay for everything in the party except the venue which I think is still unfair since your share would still be much bigger” she huffed conceding with his decision

 

“Okay now that that’s settled let’s go to the next item….” Jessica started when Taeyeon’s phone rang

 

--Riiiiiing—riiiiinnnnggg—

 

“Oh, it’s manager oppa, sorry I think I got to take this call” she excused herself while Jiyong and Jessica continued with their planning

 

 

 

“So what did he need? I thought you didn’t have any schedules for today?” Jiyong asked as soon as she came back in

 

“He told me that President Lee was looking for me and that I was to go to his house instead of the office immediately. That’s it. No explanations given” she answered giving them a confused look

 

“Then you should go this instant Tae. President Lee has been like a father to all of us and if he tells you to go, you go. And he’s retired so he won’t call on you unless it was something really important” Jessica said seriously

 

“Go Tae we can finish up here and I’ll tell you all about it later.” Jiyong urged as well so she finally decided to leave.

JIYONG’S POV

 

“Is she gone?” Jessica asked when Jiyong came back from sending Taeyeon to her car

 

“Yeah, she just left.”

 

“Now tell me what you planned to do when you asked me for Haeyeon’s number” she asked point blank

 

“…..I wanted to talk to Taeyeon’s family first before we invite them to the party…. I can’t let them find out for themselves without me explaining to them first and I thought that maybe going through Haeyeon would be easier since I heard that she was a fan of BIG BANG. And I’m the husband so I should take responsibility…Taeyeon has been sad this past few months that she has to hide all this from her family and from the girls….the girls I can’t decide for her though I wish they could know about or situation earlier, but maybe I can do something about her family” he admitted, he had been thinking about this for a long time now

 

His will to take responsibility amazed Jessica so she gave him the number. “Haeyeon won’t be too much of a problem since Taeng told me that she’s always wanted a niece and that he likes kids but Jiwoong oppa would be, a guy with a reputation like yours marrying her little sister. Her parents, I don’t know how they will react, I just know that they’re traditional, so I think the fact that the two of you got married first before asking for their blessing would be more of an issue for them than of the two of you being in a relationship.”

 

“Really? Then at least one of them would be on my side….. maybe” he said doubtfully as he got Haeyeon’s number from Jessica

 

“I assume that I have to keep this from Taeyeon correct? How about your parents, do they know about Jiyeon?” Jessica inquired as she started to clean up the things they used

 

“Yes, I’ll tell her myself later. And my parents know about Jiyeon, they’re really excited to meet her and Taeyeon because they’ve been asking me to get married and have kids ever since I was 20.” He happily relayed remembering his parent’s delight and his sister saying that it was about time he settled down

 

“That’s good then now you only need to think about Taeyeon’s side. When do you plan to meet them?” she asked

 

“Actually I was planning on going now. Taeyeon will be the one to pick Jiyeon up from the daycare because I told her I’ll be having an overnight schedule later.” He replied placing his things inside the bag that he brought.

 

“You really had everything planned out huh….. You know oppa…. I’m glad Taeng married someone like you, at least I know that I can trust you with her…. Take care oppa and drive safely” shetold Jiyong as he stood up to leave

 

“Yeah…. Well I’m glad I got to marry her too” he said waving goodbye as he left

TAEYEON’S POV

 

“Taeng?! You too?” Someone called from behind Taeyeon as she neared the door of President Lee’s house

 

“Huh? Oh so you got called in too Sunny bunny. Do you know what this is about? Are the others called in as well?” Taeyeon asked as Sunny fell into step next to her

 

“Ani, Lee samchon didn’t tell me anything and only told me to come. The other girls are curious as well since the most of us were together when he called me. All I know is that it must be something personal or else we would have been called to come to the company and not to his house. “ she answered as they went in, Sunny taking the lead as she was no stranger in the house being President Lee’s niece

 

“Oh” was Taeyeon’s only reply as a maid led them to the President’s study

 

 

 

“Samchon you called us? Did you need something?” Sunny asked, both of them standing up as soon as President Lee entered the room

 

“Both of you sit down” he ordered coldly, unusual for someone like President Lee who was usually slow to anger especially when it comes to the girls of So Nyeo Shi Dae. His cold tone immediately shut both of the girls up and wait as he settled down to his seat

 

“Is-is something w-wrong President Lee?” Taeyeon asked cautiously as the President looked at the two of them seriously

 

“What I am about to tell you girls is something that till has not reached the ears of your CEO, the men who I ordered to watch anything in the media that would ruin your reputations because I see you girls as my own daughters... and they finally got something ahead of the company” he explained after taking a few deep breaths

 

“Wh-what do you mean Lee samchon? What did you find?” Sunny asked paling at her uncle’s words

 

“This” he said furiously throwing a handful of pictures at the table. “Can you explain to me what this are about Lee Sunkyu? Can you explain to me why you go out on dates with this boy? And not just once but many times…. I already know the answer to that but I need to hear it from you as well” President Lee asked calming himself down as he spoke

“I know that you girls are old enough now, but dating those kids from YG are not good for you. A rumor about them dating already sparks negative reaction from their fans, and that’s just a rumor, what do you think would happen if you were actually confirmed by your companies to be dating? Your fandoms would wage war with each other, you know how violent and how rude some fans can be when it comes to their idols….”

 

“Sa-samchon….” Sunny called as she and Taeyeon looked at the pictures

 

“And you Kim Taeyeon, your supposed to be their leader yet you let them date guys that can ruin your image or if you can’t stop them then at least advise them to be more cautious!! Do you know how many idol groups there are today? Do you realize the number of rivals you have now just to remain on top?” he asked finally addressing Taeyeon

 

“I…we know President Lee” was all she could answer

 

“If you know then why do you girls always come out on this kinds of issues!!” he shouted shocking the both of them “I….I’m sorry for shouting….” He instantly apologized after realizing what he just did

 

“I know I’m no longer the head of the company and I know I no longer have the right to tell you what to do… but as your former president… as the one who saw how much you worked for and struggled to reach where you are now…. I ask you to please be careful… I don’t want you girls getting hurt and I don’t want you to lose what you worked hard for…. And since I know that I won’t be able to tell you who to love I’ll try my best so that the company and it’s CEO won’t get wind of any of this, but I must warn you girls that my connections can only go so much so please be wary of your surroundings. Tell the other girls for me as well, please.” He asked as he massaged his forehead from stress

 

“I’m sorry Uncle Lee. Daesung and I have been together for quite some time and I guess we got careless because not once have we been caught. I’m sorry. And to Taeyeon as well, I apologize because I almost caused another issue for our group” Sunny said bowing down to the both of them

 

“It’s okay Sunny. You don’t need to apologize. Everyone is allowed to love whoever they want; nobody can teach the heart not to right?” Taeyeon replied pulling the girl for a hug “President Lee, I apologize in behalf of Sunny and the other girls. I’ll make sure to warn them about watchful eyes around them and thank you for keeping this for us. And President Lee, even if you aren’t the head of SM anymore, you can always call us to come over, be it to scold us or to just hang out, because as you said, you were with us since our trainee days till we reached our peak in this industry, and you know us better than other people. For us you will always be our President Lee.”

“Thank you Taeng” he answered reverting back to calling Taeyeon her nickname “Sunkyu will you leave us for a bit, I have to talk to your leader for a while. Why don’t you tell Ajhumma to prepare us some snacks while I talk to Taeyeon?” President Lee instructed his niece who immediately got up to do what he asked knowing that he was just asking for privacy

 

 

 

“Taeyeon-ah…. Sunny wasn’t the only one they caught…” he started once Sunny was out of earshot “I revealed Sunny’s but not yours because your issue is much bigger and I want to hear your explanation first before I decide on what to do” President Lee continued as he opened an envelope from his drawer containing another set of pictures but this one showing Taeyeon with Jiyeon and Jiyong. Upon seeing the pictures Taeyeon paled. Picture after picture, she saw their family and she knew that whoever saw their picture would immediately guess their relationship.

 

“I-I um…ah Pre-president Lee please let me explain…..” she asked seeing the disappointment in his face

JIYONG’S POV

 

“Thank you for meeting me” Jiyong greeted as soon as Haayeon sat in front of him

 

“How can I not?! It’s not everyday that a fan gets called out by her idol!” she answered spazzing

 

“Calm down Haeyeon-ssi please lower your voice” he pleaded seeing some other visitors turn to look at them, even in a secluded café he can never relax lest someone recognize him

 

“Oh yeah sorry. So what did you need op-can I call you oppa? What did you need G-dragon oppa?” she asked bouncing on her seat in glee at being in his presence

 

Well here goes nothing Jiyong thought as he closed his eyes and said the speech he has been practicing in the car on his way to Jeonju, Taeyeon’s hometown “ImarriedyoursisterwithoutbothfamiliespermissionbutIalreadytoldmyparentssoIthoughtitwastime

Taking a deep breath, he said his speech again watching Haeyeon’s face for her reaction “I married your sister without both family’s permissions but I already told my parents so I thought it was time I tell hers and I heard that you were a fan of our group so I got your number from Jessica thinking that maybe you can help me ask for their blessing even if it should have been done the other way around”

 

“Wait….wh-what??!!! Bwoya! You married my sister?! You the great G-Dragon marrying So Nyeo Shi Dae’s Kim--” before she could finish Jiyong covered with his and as her words garnered a lot of turned heads from the other guests.

 

Bowing in apology to the other relaxing customers Jiyong pleaded with Haeyeon “Yes yes I know you must be shocked but let me explain first and please don’t shout too much, you’ll get me and your sister in trouble”

 

“Mianhe it’s just…..it’s just….just so hard to take in….this news is just….wow. is it really true? You’re not kidding with me aren’t you? Or is this some kind of camera prank where the cameras are hidden around us?” she asked still stunned at his words

 

“I know it’s a lot but do you really think we-I would be able to prank you like this? If people heard it would spark another rumor about us, when there’s already so many, which I tell you now were all true as long as the evidence they’ve got are from this year, the rest are just bogus. So no this isn’t a camera prank. Now do you want the long explanation or the short version and wait for the long one along with your parents? I just really need you to get them to talk to me somewhere private.” he asked hoping that she would go along with his idea

 

“Hmmmm… they why don’t I just listen to it along with eomma and appa and Woong oppa so that you won’t have to repeat twice. As for a private place…….. then how about you have dinner at our house, that way you get to see where “your wife” spent her childhood in and at least appa will be more relaxed there and also…… eomma love her dining set so no chairs or tables will be turned over once appa and oppa hears that their baby got married without them knowing” she teased easing Jiyong’s tension that at least one family member is on his side but doubling his nervousness with her joke as well

 

“Haeyeon-ssi that’s not actually giving me any confidence right now! Please don’t joke like that!” he begged pouting at her

 

“Hahaha oppa, unnie was right! Pouting doesn’t suit you!!!” she exclaimed laughing at him

 

“Wait you mean Tae- I mean your sister already told you??!!” he cried in shock “but-but you were shouting in surprise earlier and you even asked if this was …….a prank….. yah! You tricked me!!” he bellowed holding his head in his hands

 

“Hahahaha sorry oppa. Neh my sister already told me, and seeing that you went to me first I thought that you already knew that I know but when you started talking I realized that you didn’t. Sorry, I wanted to play around for a bit. You’ve got to admit, I’m a good actress neh? And at least now I know that you’re someone who really is responsible... It’s safe for me to assume that my sister doesn’t know of you coming here right?” she asked him after he calmed down from his shock

 

“Yeah you’re right. You see, Taeyeon and I are planning a party for Jiyeon, you know her right?” he continued after a nod of approval from her “well it’s just that I know it’s hard for Taeyeon to keep something like these from her parents, we originally planned to tell both sets of parents when they come for jiyeon’s party but I think they would enjoy it less from their surprise at finding out the truth and I hate for Jiyeon to see that her family is not even enjoying or having fun at her birthday party. So I planned to tell them myself so that the party would no only be a surprise for Jiyeon but for Taeyeon as well…. So will you help me get your parents blessing?”

 

“Do you even have to ask? Let’s go oppa!” she excitedly said pulling him from his seat

 

“Uh where?” he asked stupidly

 

“Pabo-oppa. To meet your in-laws of course!! I told you I’d let you talk to them at dinner and look it’s dinnertime!” she scolded showing him her cellphone clock

 

“Wha-what now?! As in now???!!!” he stuttered instantly flustered at the thought of meeting Taeyeon’s whole family

 

“Wae? Weren’t you already ready to meet them when you came? Oh and you’re in luck, I forgot to tell you that we were having a little family reunion tonight to almost all of our relatives are here” Haeyeon teased some more making Jiyong pale up in apprehension.

TAEYEON’S POV

 

“So let me sum this up. Jiyeon’s parents died in an accident. They were orphans so the child has no relatives to go to. You two being close friends of her parents got the custody and in order to do so you got married. So you and G-Dragon have been married since March and no one knew about it?” President Lee asked Taeyeon

 

“Well actually a few of our friends know and some others who found out by themselves. Our parents don’t even know yet because we planned to tell them on the child’s birthday next month…. You are actually the first elder to know sajangnim. And well I guess we should count Sunkyu over there, who is obviously eavesdropping from the door, as one of the few who know.” Taeyeon said as she turned to look as Sunny, who indeed was trying to hide by ducking under the table near the door

 

“Yah Taengoo! You knew I was hiding?  You should have called me in then, do you know how tiring it was to scoot under a table, I think my legs are asleep already” Sunny said as she stretched before sitting down beside Taeyeon

 

“That serves you right. Who told you to listen to our conversation anyway?” Taeyeon asked meanwhile helping Sunny massage her tired legs

 

“But it’s not fair that you get to find out my secret. Anyway don’t change the subject! Why didn’t you tell us of your situation! We could have helped you! Aigoo, your habit of keeping everything to yourself is really irritating sometimes…. Wait if you’re married and you live together with Kwon Jiyong-ssi then does that mean you’ve—“ Sunny unashamedly asked coaxing a blush from Taeyeon’s face

 

“A-hem… Lee Sukyu-ah I think that conversation is something for a later time” President Lee said cutting off their talk before it gets any more embarrassing

 

“Oh ah hehe, sure. Later Tae” she said conceding before sending an evil smirk to Taeyeon

 

“From all that you’ve shared I’m actually kind of surprised that your marriage is still a secret from the public, I mean your marriage certificate could be seen by anyone who has access in the city hall, but I guess no one in their right mind would think of the two of you getting married, so that’s a plus. And from all the outings that the two of you go too, I thought that maybe your obsessive fans would have already spotted you, but except from those who found the connection in your SNS accounts, no more rumors of the two of you have come up. I think being in this industry longer than the others and being leaders of both your groups have made you experts in keeping secrets to yourselves then” President Lee surmised proud of their hiding skills

 

“Well we’ve got a few close calls, like that one time in the mall, but so far, no one has made a connection yet, thankfully.” Taeyeon revealed

 

“But I’m curious as to how to hid it from me and the girls, I mean we’ve always been together because of our schedules and such. How are you able to spend time with G-dragon oppa and Jiyeonnie?” Sunny asked as she thought about the times when Taeyeon goes out or when she’s with them

 

“Well I’ve been living at our own house for months right. Well whenever manager-oppa sends me back to my apartment I actually have a spare car parked a few blocks away which I take to go to and fro from my apartment to our house. That was one of the main reasons why I hardly spend time at our dorms. Oh and Ginger lives with us now. I think it’s the same way with Jiyong, having a spare car to use. So I drive home late at night and early in the morning. We got used to this routine after doing it for months and Jiyeon also understands when we can’t go home some days. Jiyong-oppa and I just make sure that at least one of us his home for her.” Taeyeon answered which of course led to more questions from the two

 

“Wait, what about during the time when the two of you can’t go home? Where does she stay? And during the day, like today, do you hire a nanny or a sitter to watch her?” President Lee asked as they helped themselves to some snacks

 

“Ani, we couldn’t afford to find a nanny in case she accidentally spills something about our family. Jiyeon goes to a daycare during the day and one of us picks her up after our schedules. Sunny, remember the time that we had our tour? Actually Jiyong-oppa also had an overseas schedule that time so jiyeon spent a few days with Sooyeon and Soojung at their house. She even has her own room there, apparently.”

 

“Jessica? Krystal? So they know about your secret then. How about the rest of the girls?” President Lee interrupted

 

“Ah yes, actually Jessica and Seohyun were there when we signed our marriage certificate at the city hall and Jessica was the first one to find out about Jiyeon even before me and Jiyong were married. That was the first time Jessica and I go together ever since she left the group. As for the rest…hm… let’s see… Sunny knows now, obviously, and Sohyun of course…. Oh Tiffany… Sunny-ah do you remember the time when she and I didn’t talk for some time, that was when she found out, but not the whole truthyet. She thought that me and Jiyng were dating and got mad because of it saying that he was a bad influence and such…” she sighed thinking about how wrong Tiffany was, she and Jiyong weren’t dating, they were already married.

 

“Oh so that was the secret that she said that you were the one who should reveal and not her. Good thing she didn’t or you would have had a harder situation with the girls. But were you able to clear the misunderstanding she had?” Sunny said finally getting some answers to the questions in her mind

 

“Ani, we made up but I still wasn’t able to explain…..maybe I’ll do it at the same time as the other girls….. So will you help me? Will you hide this from the others for the time being until Jiyeon’s birthday?” Taeyeon asked her

 

“Yes, of course you can rely on me, but one of these days can you introduce me to Jiyeon? I want to meet our little niece. I’m gonna buy her lots and lots of gifts” Sunny said happily

 

“And I too will keep this a secret….as long as I’m invited to the party of course. It’s not everyday that we celebrate a birthday of a child of one of our idols…. you being the first one to have one will be a great surprise to the others once they find out” President Lee said happy at the thought of children among his beloved idols who he watched from their trainee days

 

“Of course you’re invited Lee sajangnim. And Sunkyu, Jiyong and Jessica already buy enough stuff for Jiyeon as it is, anymore and our house will overflow. Food, she likes eating so food would be good instead, but not too many sweets arasseo?” Taeyeon pleaded

 

“I assume you’ll be staying for dinner?” he asked them but both of them declined

 

“I’m sorry uncle but I have to inform Daesungie that we have to be more careful from here on out” Sunny said bowing politely

 

“And I have to pick Jiyeon up from the daycare. We always make it a point to at dinner at home. So I’ll have to decline as well. But thank you sajangnim, for everything.” Taeyeon said as well bowing respectfully

“Sunny-ah after you meet with Daesung how about you have dinner with us at our house. I can introduce you to Jiyeon as well” Taeyeon asked as they both headed to their cars

 

“Wae where’s your husband?” Sunny inquired

 

“He said he had a schedule outside Seoul that’ll take a few days. So it’ll be just me and Jiyeonnie. So will you join us?” she invited

 

“Sure why not, you can lead the way and I’ll just call Daesungie on the way to tell him about what Lee samchon said” Sunny agreed, excited to meet Taeyeon’s daughter

 

“Okay, let’s head to my apartment first to change cars then we can pick up Jiyeon from the daycare. Don’t worry I have disguises prepared at home for the both of us” Taeyeon said reverting back to her usual routine

 

“Okay!!! See you at your apartment!” Sunny called from her car as she drove ahead

JIYONG’S POV

 

 “Eomma!! Appa!!! Jiwoong oppa!!! We have a guest” Haeyeon called as they entered the house

 

“Haeyeon unnie!! Samchon and Imo are outside with the elders.” A little girl, one of Haeyeon’s younger cousins answered them

 

“Ah okay Na Ri-ah, can you lead this oppa to the living room. So that he can rest while I call eomma and appa.” Haeyeon ordered the girl who immediately grabbed one of Jiyong’s hands

 

“Neh!! And unnie can we watch TV in your room later? The elders don’t like seeing us watch cartoons” Na Ri asked

 

“Okay, but before that can you call Jiwoong oppa as well? Tell him to come inside for a bit.” she asked and the little girl nodded before pulling Jiyong after her to the living room meanwhile Haeyeon went to their backdoor exit to look for her parents outside.

 

“Eomma! Appa!” she called running to her parents once she found them “Will you come with me inside, you need to meet someone in there” she requested after bowing respectfully to the elders who were present

 

“Haeyeon-ah who is it? Are you finally introducing your boyfriend to your parents/ Why don’t you bring him out?” some aunts and uncles called out much to Haeyeon’s chagrin

 

“Aniya!! I don’t have a boyfriend imo! Aish just come eomma, appa, you’ll know when you meet him” she said excusing herself and her parents before pulling them back to the house

 

“Slow down Haeyeon-ah. Who are we actually meeting?” her eomma asked as their daughter hurried them in

 

“It’s best if he explains himself personally that to have the introduction coming from me” was Haeyeon’s answer as they stepped into the living room only to find Jiwoong and Jiyong standing face to face inside

 

“Haeyeon-ah I heard you were the one who brought him? What for?” Jiwoong asked furious that someone of his reputation entered their house “You know how mean their fans can be, what if they got wind of him being here, have you thought of hat it might do to Taeyeon’s reputation, they’re involved in lots of rumors as it is without you adding more to it. Lead him out” he ordered without so much as another glance to Jiyong

 

“O-op-oppa! Please don’t be rude, G-dragon oppa is a guest!” Haeyeon scolded which her brother just brushed off

 

“Bro-brother-in-law!!” Jiyong suddenly shouted stopping Jiwoong from his tracks

 

“Brother-in-law?! Like hell I’ll be your brother-in-law so leave!” Jiwoong shouted back

 

“Kim Jiwoong! Apologize right now!” Taeyeon’s father suddenly said in a loud voice “Until we listen to what he has to say, you are not to send any guests of our house out. After his explanation, then we will decide what to do. Do you understand?”

 

“Ye-yes appa, I apologize” Jiwoong said but only apologizing to his father for his rude behavior and not to Jiyong

 

“Sit down G-Dragon-ssi, yes I know who you are from my children” Kim appa ordered as he took his seat

 

“Ye-yes sir” Jiyong replied nervousness overcoming him once again, Taeyeon’s father commands such aura that even the other kids who were playing around scurried out of the house in fright

 

“Now will you explain to us what you mean by calling my eldest son brother-in-law? I assume this is about Taeyeon as Hayaeon was the one who brought you here, correct?” he asked Jiyong

 

“Ah yes ssir….the truth is that….” he stalled before getting on the ground and bowing deeply in front of Taeyeon’s parents “I-I’m sorry sir, I married your daughter without your blessing!!” he said, shouting from his position scared that if won’t let it out his chest would burst from all the built up tension

 

“Why you little-! What do you mean you married my sister! Who gave you the right to marry her!!! Who do think you are!” Jiwoong exploded grabbing Jiyong by the scruff of his shirt

 

“Put him down Woong-ah! Calm down and let him explain, please” Taeyeon’s eomma pleaded but Jiwoong refused to let him go, fury written all over his face

 

“Settle down Kim Jiwoong. Release G-dragon-ssi” he said with such calmness that frightened Jiyong even more than Jiwoong’s outburst of anger

 

“Please sit down. My daughter is not like that G-Dragon-ssi. She wouldn’t have married you without permission unless she had a valid reason. So can you explain to me how the two of you, from two rival companies who rarely had any interactions, got married without anyone knowing, because as far as I know a marriage like that would have been the talk of the town had the media or your fans heard of it.” Taeyeon’s father asked

 

“Ac-actually sir before I tell you how everything started between me and Taeyeon I want you to know that I have liked – no - I have loved your daughter for 11 years. Ever since I was a trainee in YG, you could even call me a stalker because I always kept tabs on her without her knowing even though we were from rival companies. I would also like to apologize for all the bad things you heard about me from the media, though please understand that not everything the media says is true, some of them are just baseless rumors and accusations, most of which I already explained to your daughter.” Jiyong started after he settled back to his seat

 

“11 years my . What about all the girls you’ve dated or had scandals with?!” Jiwoong interrupted

 

“Be quiet Jiwoong. Continue G-Dragon-ssi” their father ordered

 

“Ah yes sir, oh and please call me Jiyong, G-Dragon is my stage name sir. Anyway, um... you should also know that um… we have a little girl at home called Kwon Jiyeon…” Jiyong said wincing as another round of curses came from Taeyeon’s big brother before his mother sent him away to get some snacks before Jiyong continued

 

“Everything started in March sir, there was a big accident after our company’s collaboration concert. Two of the people who died there were close friends of ours, Jin Woo hyung and his wife Minji noona, leaving their two-year old daughter without parents or any relatives since both of them came from the same orphanage and had no parents. In the will that they left they named the two of us as their next of kin as we were their closest friends.” Jiyong explained

 

“They wrote the two of you as their next of kin?” Taeyeon’s mother asked

 

“Not the both of us each but Taeyeon for Minji noona, and me for Jin Woo hyung. We didn’t even know how close our circles were. Who would have thought that the Minji noona that hyung married was the same one who was close friends with Taeyeon. We only found out later by accident, but this was before they died” Jiyong answered

 

“Oh, but how come the two of you ended up married then if the both of you didn’t know?” she asked again

 

“Well when they died and we found out from their lawyer that we were their next of kin we tried to find ways to keep Jiyeon. But since we weren’t blood related even if it was in their last will we couldn’t take her with us, the only choice was to adopt her. Adoption in Korea has certain requirements a few of them were that he adopting family must have a stable financial situation, their own home and that must be….um...married. I guess we both weren’t thinking straight back then… everything happened so fast and maybe all of us just needed someone who understands our grief so we decided to get married and become a family. The judge who handled Jiyeon’ case gave us custody seeing how much attached she was to us adding to the fact that we fulfilled the other requirements.” Jiyong said ending his narration on how their marriage came to be.

 

By the time he finished Taeyeon’s mother was in tears pitying the little girl who had to separate from her parents early and had to suffer much grief “I-I’m proud of you and my daughter for taking on such responsibility, but we still can’t deny that you got married without our blessing. Also, had you thought more about it, both of you are still young and you have yet to learn how to become parents, maybe you could have asked your parents or us about what you can do first, us parents are here to guide you and give you advise when you need it”

 

“Yes ma’am and we are both deeply sorry for that. Your daughter has been worrying a lot whenever the topic of our parents came up. Actually the both of us wanted to have both sets of parents meet and explain but we just couldn’t think of how to do it and when. I-I just thought that it was high time that I came to you in person….I didn’t think it was proper that Taeyeon meets you by herself before I did.” Jiyong continued apologizing, standing up to bow to them before sitting down once again

 

“Let me ask this first. Have you told your parents yet?” Taeyeon’s father asked

 

“Yes sir. They were actually the ones who suggested that, as the husband, I should meet you personally and not to leave the responsibility of telling you to my wife. They actually insisted on meeting you in person as soon as possible but I told them that I wanted to talk to you first before I bring them”

 

“You were wise to follow their advice Jiyong-ssi…. I ask you now do you really love my daughter? Would you care for her as your family? Taeyeon is our precious little girl Jiyong-ah, however old she might be right now…. will you promise not to make my daughter cry?” Taeyeon’s father asked him with all seriousness

 

“Yes sir, I love your daughter with all my heart. I could leave everything I have right now to be with your daughter if you ask me to, money, fame, my career, all of them just let me stay by her side as her husband and as Jiyeon’s father. I can’t promise not to make her cry sir, I am not perfect, but I will promise you that I will make her smile whenever she’s sad, I’ll be by her side whenever she’s lonely, I’ll take care of her when she gets tired, and I promise you that I will stay beside her for the rest of my life” Jiyong answered with so much conviction that he finally convinced Taeyeon’s father of his sincerity

 

“Then stop calling me sir. From now on you can call me Appa or Kim appa whatever you prefer. Come son-in-law since this is a family reunion, join us, you are now part of our family as well, and I will introduce you to the rest of the family” Kim appa said standing up to go back outside

 

“Wait appa that’s it? You’re not even going to question or point out his bad reputation? What about all the girls he is rumored to be with? What about all the scandals that he had? This man here is will be a bad influence to Taeng appa! He will just ruin her reputation and the image she has suffered and worked hard for all these years!” Jiwoong asked mad that his father seems to be accepting Kwon Jiyong quite easily

 

“Woong-ah, do you think your sister is stupid? Even in that situation do you think she would have married someone without thinking about it? Don’t you even have an ounce of decency to respect her decisions?  Then what do you propose? That I have them divorce making that child suffer pain of losing of another set of parents and causing a bigger issue for your sister and brother-in-law, who haven’t even announced their marriage to the public? Is that what you want Kim Jiwoong?” Kim appa asked his eldest son

 

“No-no appa…. I was just…. I just want my sister to be happy…. Jiyong-ah, be-before Haeyeon came to our family it was just me and Taeng, we were best friends, we were partner’s-in-crime, we were inseparable. When she chose to be a singer, I was mad at first because she always spent a lot of time training, doing voice lessons and such, we no longer spent time with each other, I was jealous, jealous of the career she chose. Then she moved to Seoul to be a trainee under SM, she seldom came home then, everytime she came was like a ray of sunshine in our family who missed her presence. Now, after reaching her peak as a singer, when she is finally given time to relax and come back home from time to time….you….you are taking her father away from us….you are taking my sister away from us…from her family ” Jiwoong said finally releasing his deepest thoughts about his sister

 

“Oh oppa” Haeyeon said hugging her brother who was hastily wiping tears from his face

 

“Brother-in-law… I know that my reputation has reached you. You may think that I am a bad guy, that I’m a bad influence. And you may think that I’m not good enough for your sister- and I guess I have to agree with you on that, I will never be good enough for your sister, cause even I think that she’s too good for someone like me….. Taeyeon is….she is…. she is an understanding wife to me, who has many flaws, and a loving mother to Jiyeon, who means all the world to us, she is someone who I can always rely on, she is tough and strong on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. She can be childish sometimes but gentle and caring most of the times. Despite us being in the same situation, she was the one who became my strength when I lost the closest person I had to a brother. And she…..and she is the woman I have only ever loved as deep as this…. Brother-in-law, my image may be bad but I promise to be nothing but good to Taeyeon, giving her the best of everything that I can. Please have faith in my sincerity.” Jiyong asked bowing deeply in front of Taeyeon’s older brother

 

“Come on Jiyong-ah, our other relatives are waiting. Woong-ah compose yourself first then follow us outside neh? The uncles are going to wonder where you are. Haeyeon-ah, have ajhumma prepare Taeyeon’s bedroom for your brother-in-law, your aunt and uncle will be using the other guest rooms” Kim Eomma ordered as she ushered Jiyong out to introduce him to the rest of the Kims

TAEYEON’S POV

 

“Jiyeon-ah this is your Aunt Sunkyu. She’s also one of eomma’s friends like your Aunt Jess and Aunt Hyun” Taeyeon said introducing Sunny to Jiyeon as she drove the car

 

“Really eomma? Then do you dance too Aunt Sunkyu? And sing? Like eomma?” Jiyeon excitedly asked happy to meet someone new with no trace of shyness unlike other kids her age

 

“Yes I dance and sing like your eomma too Jiyeonnie, but call me Aunt Sunny okay, Sunkyu seems a little old for me arasseo?” Sunny answered Jiyeon happily but whined at Taeyeon “Yah Kim Taeyeon meeting your daughter makes me feel old!!!”

 

“Hahahaha being an aunt makes you feel old? Then how about me being a mother then? Does that mean I’m older?” Taeyeon asked laughing at how Sunny’s silly thoughts

 

“Neh! Now you’re really an ajhumma Taeng!!!” she teased the older girl making the two of them laugh as Taeyeon was usually teased about being a ajhumma because of her laugh.

 

“Yah you call me an ajhumma yet we are both the same age!! Then should call you ajhumma as well don’t I? Huh SUNKYU AJHUMMA?” Taeyeon teased back letting out her famous ajhumma laugh

 

 “Jiyeon-ah do you think your cute Aunt Sunny deserves to be called an ajhumma? Hmmm?” Sunny asked her niece showing her different kinds of aegyo to win her vote

 

“Ani Jiyeonnie! How about eomma? Do you think eomma is really an ajhumma?” Taeyeon asked hoping to beat Sunny by also acting cute while the light was still red

 

“Hahahaha, Eomma looks scary!!” Jiyeon cackled happily pointing at Taeyeon who was acting cute

 

 “See even your daughter thinks the same as us… tsk tsk… acting cute doesn’t suit you Tae haha” Sunny laughed with Jiyeon while Taeyeon pouted at the two of them

 

“Jiyeon-ah how come you like your aunts more than you like your eomma?” Taeyeon asked her daughter pretending to be sad

 

“Ani eomma ish still the best!!!! Eomma jjang!!” Jiyeon said reaching out to try to touch her eomma from her seat at the back

 

“Thanks baby. Please sit properly Jiyeonnie, you’ll fall if you move too much. Sunny-ah can you reach back and check her seatbelt?” Taeyeon requested seeing that her daughter was trying to wiggle out of her seatbelt from the rearview mirror

 

 

 

 

“Wow, G-Dragon sunbae really went all out with the house huh. Look at all this furniture and your backyard is cool with the pool and the playground, maybe when Jiyeon is a little older you guys can add a gazebo or something by the pool for when her friends come over to play. Can I see the basement?” Sunny asked but she was already by the stairs even before Taeyeon could answer making herself at home at the Kwon’s household

 

“Yah don’t touch anything in Jiyong’s studio, he’s kinda obsessive with the arrangement of his things!!!” Taeyeon warned but Sunny was already exploring the basement of their house

 

 

-ring- -riiiing-

 

“Oh Sica-ah, need anything?.......no, he’s not here. Wae?..... of course Jiyeon is home, do you know what time it is?......busy no…..then why don’t you have dinner here then?.....okay and tell Seohyun I said hi!” Taeyeon responded to the phone call from Jessica

 

“Taengoo!!!!! You have your own dance studio!!!!” Sunny voice rose from the open basement door

 

“Haha yeah I know, cool right?!!” Taeyeon shouted back as Sunny came back up

 

“Hey need help with anything?” Sunny offered as she entered the kitchen

 

“Wae, don’t you want to explore the bedrooms first? I thought that was what you were interested in the most?” Taeyeon asked teasing her friend a little

 

“Yeah I am interested to see your room but I’ll do that after dinner. So what should I do?” Sunny answered not even hiding her curiosity a little bit

 

“Then can you set the table? And move Jiyeon’s high chair neer the table. Oh and add two more plates okay, we have more guests coming” Taeyeon said with her back turned focusing on her cooking

 

“Two? Who’s coming?” she asked thinking back on who might be coming to Taeyeon and Jiyong’s house

 

“Sica and Seohyun are. Jessica called me while you were exploring the basement asking if Jiyeon and I had some company, she said that she and Seohyun had nothing to do so they were hanging out at her house. That idiot forgot to restock her fridge so I invited them for dinner here. And I didn’t tell her you were here so they should be surprised to see that you found out as well”

 

“Oh okay. How about Krystal? Doesn’t she stay from time to time at Sica’s house? Does she know too?” Sunny asked while setting the table

 

“Of course, those two can’t get their hands of my daughter that I almost had to drag her out whenever she stays over there” Taeyeon joked while emphasizing just how close the sisters were to Jiyeon

 

 

“You know….. I kinda feel sorry for the rest of the girls who don’t know about this yet…..” Sunny quietly said as she stood next to Taeyeon by the stove

 

“Why? It’s not like I’m hiding this for my benefit alone, Sunny, I’ll also tell them…. When the timing is right…” Taeyeon asked confused

 

“It’s just that, had I not found out the way I did, I would be one of our other members who feels that you can’t trust us enough even with our long friendship…..” she answered

 

“But I trust you girls, you know me. You know that even before, it was always hard for me to hare my problems with others” Taeyeon said half-hugging her from the side before going back to her cooking

 

“Yes we know that but…it has been a long time since you slept over at the dorms, only doing that when our schedule forces you too, you always hurry home instead of hanging out with us. And you rarely go out on weekends….We…um… we thought that you were feeling depressed again and was just hiding it so that we won’t notice…. Well Yoona thought that maybe you were working yourself out and keeping to yourself so that you won’t meet…um…Baek” Sunny revealed sharing the other girl’s concerns

 

“I’m over him Sunny. And I hurry home to pick up Jiyeon. I can’t or I don’t hang out because is too young to be left to herself and at first Jiyong had a hard time taking care of her by himself, so I stay home with them. ” Taeyeon explained

 

“Yeah but you see, only after your explanation does everything makes sense. That’s why I feel sad that the others don’t know anything about this, because they still continue to feel bad that they can’t even do anything for you…” she clarified to make Taeyeon understand the girl’s point of view

 

“Oh….I….. I appreciate their concern Sunny but what can I do. Tiffany thinking tha Jiyong and I were dating already reacted so much that we fought over it and didn’t talk for some time, what do you want me to do? Tell them everything and let them get mad at me for being with a guy who they say is a “bad guy with a bad reputation” or hear them tell me that he will be nothing but a bad influence and will just ruin my image and my career….” Taeyeon stopped taking a deep breath before she finished “…I’m scared of hearing that Sunny…. I know Jiyong personally, I know I’m better than others, and I don’t want to fight with you guys just to get you to understand him… I… and I see you as my sisters….my fanily… I don’t want you to be angry at me… I want you to stand by my side and give me your support when the time comes when the world will find out about me and my family…you know how his fans are…but I’ll be okay even if they all hate me as long as you 8 and my family are behind me….I’ll e okay” Taeyeon teared up releasing the anxiety she held back during their meeting with President Lee.

 

 

 

“…and that’s why I brought them with me….It’s time to tell them everything…” Jessica’s voice suddenly interrupted their moment

 

“gi-girl’s….” Taeyeon mouthed shocked to see Jessica and Seohyun with the rest of So Nyeo Shi Dae

 

“Tae-tae!!!” Tiffany shouted first running to their leader before the others followed suit to hug her

 

“Tae, Sica told us everything at her house…..she also told us why you kept everything from us” Hyoyeon told her while she and the rest of the girls wiped the tears off of their faces

 

“We heard from Jessica but we still couldn’t believe it…..but now hearing from you personally….oh Taeng you should still have told us…..” Yuri cried as she and Yoona continued hugging Taeyeon

 

“Sorry midget. We should have been more sensitive…..we even got mad about you being in another rumor with that basta- with G-dragon sunbae” Sooyoung said patting Taeyeon’s head from the side since the others were crowding too close to her

 

“Yah. Are you consoling me or teasing? But it’s okay, it was my decision not to tell anyone anyway, so it’s not your fault. Which might I ask you Jessica, why’d you tell them anyway? I thought we all agreed that they would know on Jiyeon’s birthday next month?” Taeyeon inquired slightly irked for Jessica going out of her promise but thankful nonetheless that she now had the support of her sisters

 

“You can thank Jiyong-oppa for that. After you left earlier, he told me how you’ve been, having to keep secrets from people close to you really saddens you even now. You never change Taeyeon-ah, so you should thank your caring husband” Jessica answered as she led herself to the staircase to the second floor

 

“Where are you going? Yah Sica-ah!” Hyoyeon called out but Sica just continued to go up

 

“That girl still hasn’t changed as well doing her own thing. Taeng I hope you have enough plates and food for all 9 of us.” Sooyoung said turning from a sweet friend back to a shikshin

 

“You shikshin. I have enough of course, Jiyong-oppa thought that there would be a time when you come over so he got enough plates for a whole bunch of people. You guys get your own plates from the cabinets over there. Hyoyeon and Sunny can help me prepare food for more people” Taeyeon ordered as they proceeded to act like they were still back in their dorms, with the three assigned to cooking, while Jessica sleeps and the rest of them preparing for dinner

 

“Guys make prepare for one more!! Our princess is awake!” Jessica called out as she entered the kitchen carrying the still sleepy Jiyeon

 

“Omona! Baby-ah!!!!” they all shouted leaving Taeyeon to do everything while they rushed to Jiyeon

 

“Yah Jung Sooyeon! Why’d you wake her up I’m not yet done with cooking!” Taeyeon scolded as Jiyeon started crying from being woken up from her nap and being overwhelmed with so many people

 

“Eom-eom-eomma!!!” Jiyeon cried, finding herself in front of so many strangers, all she remembered was waking up to hear her Aunt Jessica’s voice

 

“Eomma’s here Jiyeonnie” Taeyeon said trying to calm her crying daughter “Don’t worry…these people are eomms’s close friends you know… Like Aunt Jessi and Aunt Hyunnie. See they are also with them”

 

“Re-really eom-mma? They not strangersh?” Jiyeon cutely asked as she slightly released her arms from Taeyeon’s neck

 

“Really. Look, do these pretty Imos look bad to you? See even your Aunt Sunny is with them. Aunt Sunny are these other Aunts mean?” Taeyeon asked facing Sunny while the others posed cutely bhind her trying to make Jiyeon like them

 

“Ani Jiyeon-ah, see they might be crazy like your eomma but they’re nice” Sunny said getting slaps from the other girls behind her

 

“They-they are your friendsh eomma? Chingu?” she cutely asked her mother

 

“Neh aegi-ah, chingu” Taeyeon confirmed

 

“Then they dance and sing as well, like eomma and appa?” Jiyeon asked again which automatically made the other girls sing and dance with songs that only they understand. All of them singing at the same time that Jiyeon laughed because of their silliness

 

“Can-can I carry you Jiyeonnie?” Yuri asked sneakily while the others were still having a small dance battle forgetting why they were dancing in the first place until Tiffany exclaimed “You cheated!” seeing that Yuri was carrying the laughing Jiyeon

 

“Hahahahaha Jiyeon is mine!!” She proudly said running to the living room carrying Jiyeon while Tiffany and the others followed her

 

 

“So….are you mad that I told them?” Jessica asked from beside Taeyeon as she went back to continue preparing their dinner

 

“Ani…I’m thankful that you told them…it’s makes my heart lighter that you girls know” Taeyeon answered her as she made Jessica chop some more vegetables

 

“You should thank your husband as well. This was all his idea……you know I think that that guy really loves you very much” Jessica told her while chopping thinking about her conversation with Jiyong earlier if only Taeyeon knows how much effort Jiyong-oppa is putting for this relationship to work

 

“I will thank him when he come’s home……and I know he loves me Jessica…..because I love him just as much…..maybe even more…..” Taeyeon answered her with a smile
