Mission: Bad Idea

The Organization

(No POV)

"The day's gone, we'll start our training tomorrow," Baekhyun had yawned last night, stretching his tense muscles from standing and running around all day.

In the blink of an eye, the sun was out and shining again, but Luhan saw a different kind a sun. It was abnormally close... shining directly in his pupils.

The stiffness in his body still hadn't left his body from day 1 as well. Waking up hadn't left him feeling refreshed like any other twenty something year old on a weekend. Instead he felt oddly like a hospital patient.

Wait.

He craned his head off to his right, seeing a huge machine hooked up to his

"Again?" his voice cracking, coming out as a dull rasp.

He could only go into a coughing fit when he saw all the tubes and wires attached to his body. Seeing as he was pretty much fine, Luhan ripped off as his restrains, sitting up to swing his legs off to the side.

In that moment, he froze at the sound of the faint click from the door.

"Oh, you're awake," a tall man, dressed incredibly well walked in. His wide shoulders accented the crisp suit that seemed as fitting as if he were the mannequin itself. In his hand was a glass of what looked like... water?

"Who are you?" Luhan was on immediate defense. This was Dr. Lay's office, so who was this guy? What happened to his bed?

"Need some water?" he took a step forward. Bad idea. An empty syringe flew past him, which he dodged just in time.

"Get back!" he d the medical table beside him, searching for anything to defend himself with. A scalpel! That will do. For now. At least until he would get his old things back, for now all he had were a medical gown, a scalpel, and his two bare fists.

"Woah dude, tone it down a notch or two," the guy, unfazed lazily muttered with a slight lisp.

Luhan didn't trust this guy, he was way too calm.

"Luhan, you should've said something if you were awake," in the midst, Lay had found the perfect time to walk right in to see his patient surrounded by his trashed medical supplies.

So he did what anyone else would've done.

Lay smiled sweetly, dimple and all, and approached the man. Luhan lowered his weapon. He trusted Lay. That is, until the doctor pulled a small pen into Luhan's arm, sending his betrayed eyes into a blissful sleep.

When he woke up he was strapped down to the bed, seeing those equally calm eyes staring right through his soul.

"What the f*** Lay?" he growled, furiously squirming under the restraints.

"I need you to calm down, you were going to hurt yourself if you continued back there. In the meantime, let me introduce you my good friend, Sehun. He's an information dealer, like Chen. He's with us, don't worry," Lay put a hand on Sehun's back, making the other appear strangely small.

"Hello hyung, I'm Oh Sehun. S' cool to meet you, but Lay! We should tell him! He's just going to stay angry," Sehun formally introduced himself, but what he said later made Luhan feel more confused.

"What is he talking about?" Luhan looked at the doctor for an explanation.

"Mr. Lu, well, um, you've seemed to gotten everything wrong. A misunderstanding I believe," Lay walked around the room, his coat billowing behind him, looking at a clipboard full of Luhan's health history within the past week.

"Lay, get back on track," it didn't take much time for Luhan to realize that Lay was the type to get off task easily.

"Oh, yes. Well, Baekhyun went to wake you when you weren't at the training field at the assigned time. You didn't answer your door, so we had Chanyeol unlock it. From then on those two noticed you weren't responsive so they sent you to me. Therefore, I was running some tests on you," Lay turned the clipboard so that Luhan could see his notes, "and as you can see, weirdly, nothing's wrong here."

"Weirdly? What do you mean by that?" Wasn't being healthy a good thing?

"Well, the first time, I thought maybe, it was just a bit of trauma from the events of losing your memory after the whole mission fiasco, but this proved otherwise. You actually have no traces of any brain damage or trauma."

"And that's a bad thing?"

"Well, to explain your sudden headaches and passing out this morning, there is none. No medical explanation for what is happening here."

"How can there just... not be an explanation?" he wasn't some sort of freak of nature!

"There just isn't, we can just hope that it's because of an unreadable case of head trauma or pressure on your memory and brain," Luhan twirled the pen in his hand, scratching down what he just said.

"Then what's with this kid?" Luhan pointed an accusing finger at Sehun, who was surprisingly quiet this whole time.

"Oh, I think he wanted to know what happened to you. A true information dealer," Lay scratched his head. He didn't play sides, usually. He was a doctor. Doctors heal all their patients. All of them.

"I wanted to see what happened to the famous Lu. Guess you haven't changed so much? More reckless, but then again, we've never actually met face to face," Sehun contradicted, which wasn't uncommon for information brokers, never giving straight answers.

"You've heard of me?" Luhan wondered how he was even a hitman. He'd have to work on that.

"Who in this industry doesn't? Sadly, only your name, your face isn't exactly out there," Sehun, "but I'm actually here for a different purpose."

"That being?" Luhan was actually kind of disappointed, he was used to being the talk around here these days.

"He's none of your business!" Sehun scrunched his face, crossing his arms to turn to the side.

"I never mentioned a "he"," Luhan smirked. Boyfriend business? Who was left? Xiumin? No, it couldn't! Lay? Nah... he was here already. Oh, Tao? That would explain it.

They were alike, in a weird way, but they looked cute together. At least in Luhan's mental image.

"Luhan! What's going on?" Suddenly someone busted into the ward. That door was going to break one day.

"Xiumin!" he wasn't exactly who he expected to have come running. He hoped it didn't look too bad. The room was still a wreck, the syringe still embedded into the wall. A tornado could've hit the place and it'd be cleaner.

"What happened? Baekhyun and Chanyeol were screaming about you a few minutes ago!" he rushed forward, running his fingers around the body, checking for any signs of a fight.

"It's nothing, I just passed out earlier," Luhan brushed off the hands. He didn't know what it was doing to himself.

"Nothing? How does someone just pass out? " Xiumin continued mother henning, a strange quality that only seemed to pop up when he was in the hospital.

When he was met with a stubborn silence, he sighed heavily.

"Tell me later, but I'm beginning to think that you're body wants you to live here," Xiumin sarcastically commented, as Lay was doing a final check on Luhan's blood pressure.

"I won't make it a habit, I think...," Luhan sighed. He hated hospitals too, but he couldn't seem to avoid them.

"This better not just be because you're trying to get out of your skill analysis training," Xiumin scrunched his face in disappointment, pouty lips jutting out.

"No way! It's not that!" Luhan sputtered, only to have Lay put a hand on his leg so he would stay still. His blood pressure skyrocketed.

"Well... I'll be going off first," his face was a mixture of surprise and embarrassment. Like that, Xiumin fumbled with the door handle, trying to leave the two.

"Wait!" Luhan reached out for the smaller male, "I'll go with you!"

"Luhan, you still have to get your IV removed," Lay reminded him.

Oh yeah. He forgot about that. Looking up, Xiumin was giving him a weird look. Oh, he was getting judged, super hard. Knotted brows, tense face, lips pursed. The package deal for knowing you screwed up.

That's when he laughed.

It was beautiful, a clear spout of laughter emitted from his smiling lips. His eyes were shining, a faint blush powdering his pale cheeks. It was a melody Luhan could listen to all day. He hadn't even noticed Luhan staring with a dropped jaw. Even Lay was staring with wide eyes.

After a few seconds they quickly subsided to low giggles, until he required his composure once again.

"Then I'll be outside, don't wait too long," Xiumin gave Luhan a shy smile before scurrying outside to wait.

"God you have it bad," Sehun snorted as he entered the door shortly after Xiumin had just left. He spared a glance behind him, signaling that he had just overheard their whole conversation.

"Shut up!" Luhan huffed, jutting out his arm for Lay to remove the needle.

"Don't mess up," Lay muttered quietly, working on the IV drip.

"Lay? You too? Ugh! I was so bad...," Luhan wanted to hide somewhere, forever.

"Not that, but promise me, treat him well, it's been a long time," Lay continued, a wistful look on his face.

"Since what?" Luhan was confused. Long time since what?

"He's laughed like that, so carefree. Most of us have never ever seen it, I've only seen it because I've known Xiumin for a long time, just like Kris."

"So you want me to make him laugh more?" Luhan raised a confused brow, but he moved his head when he heard a frustrated groan from his right.

"God, just keep him happy is what he means," Sehun rolled his eyes, ignoring Luhan flipping him off, "and aren't you leaving now? Lay's long since done."

Luhan was about to retort but he looked down at the arm he was still holding up, IV unattached and in Lay's hands. Quickly he coughed to hide his blush, and ran out the door. Sehun and Lay looked at each other in understanding, nodding with both similar smiles on their faces.

This would be interesting.
