Chapter Thirteen
The girl he loves
After three days of being admitted in the hospital, Wendy was finally discharged the day after. She barely handled breathing the irritating smell of antiseptics and eating the bland food so it was absolutely a torture staying there for three days straight.
The wound on her right arm was healing slowly, but the one on her stomach still gave her a hard time to move properly. It was still painfully agonizing, but having Vernon and her beloved friends by her side, brightening her mood, she managed to endure the pain.
She was relieved that her stepmother was arrested, meaning that no one would treat her as a slave anymore. Since her father abandoned her and her biological mother already passed away years ago, Seulgi convinced her parents to be Wendy’s new guardians, and without hesitation, the Kang family accepted it kindly.
When Wendy came back at school, she was greeted by wolfish glares and disgusted looks, more specifically from Vernon’s obsessive fangirls, and she wasn’t even surprised.
Neither Vernon or their friends spread the news that they became a couple, but seeing them holding hands in a romantic way was enough to make it obvious that they stepped out from the friend-zone.
Although the girl was sensitive, she didn’t let their insults get into her. She didn’t let their nonsense judgements affect her because she has learned to be strong again, and to shine bright when people throw shades at her.
“Oh my god, why am I the last one to know!” The Taiwanese girl shrieked in frustration, only to earn a laugh from the couple.
“Let me guess, because you’re the youngest one in the group?” Vernon teased, and the sad pout on Tzuyu’s lips didn’t fade.
“Not funny.” Tzuyu crossed her arms. “And congratulations by the way, I’m really happy for you guys.”
“You talk like Wendy and I are married!” said the boy with a tinge of red on his cheeks.
“But you will be in the future, right?” The girl said in a teasing, giggly tone.
“Shut up, Chou Tzuyu!” Wendy pinned Tzuyu with a slight glare, but failed at hiding her tiny smile.
