“How have you been?” Myungsoo asked as he handed Kai a cup of hot coffee.

Kai smiled, “Good, and yourself?”

“I’m doing alright,” he replied.  A minute passed by before he asked, “Why didn’t you contact me after they relocated you to Busan?”

Kai smirked, “Why didn’t YOU contact me?  You’re supposed to by my hyung.  You’re supposed to look after me.”

“Shut the hell up.  Don’t be using age as an excuse.  Come here and give me a hug you dork,” he said opening his arms out.

Kai laughed out loud and hugged him, “It’s good to see you again.”

“Same here,” he said hugging him back.  He let him go and asked, “Were you aware ahead of time that you were going to be working on this case with me?”

“Yup.  You should have seen the look on your face when I walked into your office.  It was priceless!” he chuckled.

He rolled his eyes, “Tsk, whatever.”

Kai patted him on his back, “Oh, by the way, not only is Kwon Sohyun my partner…she is also my fiancé.”

“Seriously?!  Wow!  Congrats to you man!  When did you propose to her?  And when is the wedding?” he excitedly asked.

“Well, I proposed to her last year, and we decided to get married as soon as we solved this case with you,” he replied with a huge smile on his face. 

“Man, I better get an invitation to your wedding, or else we’re no longer friends,” he joked.

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that.  You’ll definitely get an invite from us for sure,” he grinned.  “So, is Krystal just your partner?  Or is she your girlfriend?”

He let out a chuckle, “She’s my girlfriend.”

“Wow, I’m impressed.  You actually moved on,” Kai teased.

He made a face at him, “Shut up.  I wouldn’t be talking.  You moved on too.”

Kai let out a small sigh, “It wasn’t easy forgetting about her, you know?”

He nodded his head an agreement.  “Do you want to know something funny?”

“What’s that?”

“I ran into-” he started to say when Krystal interrupted him, “Are you boys done catching up yet?”

He gave her a dirty look, “No.”  He looked at Kai and continued, “Like I was saying, I ran into-”

“Well, you’re gonna have to cut it short because captain wants all of us to work on this case right away,” Krystal interrupted again. 

Sohyun nodded her head in agreement, “The sooner we can solve this case, the sooner we can get to chit chat with each other.”

“Fine,” he mumbled as he gave Kai an apologetic look.

“It’s cool man.  You can always tell me later.”

“Sounds good,” he said.

Red Dragon Hotel (4:30pm)

“Congratulations Ms. Jung, you’ve the job as a waitress,” the HRD lady said as she shook my hand.

“Thank you so much!” I happily cried.  “When do I start?”

“You’ll start in two days.  You applied at the right time because the CEO will be hosting a big birthday party for his step daughter at this hotel in the 3 Clan Ballroom.  The 3 Clan Ballroom holds up to 5,000 people and we’ll definitely be busy.  I will need you to report here at 1:00pm to help set up tables, chairs, and silverwares.  One of the staff members will be training you that day.  Do you have any questions for me?”

I shook my head no, “Thank you once again for this opportunity.”

2 Days Later (Seoul Police Station 1:00pm)

“Sweetie, you look so handsome,” Sohyun gushed as she fixed her fiancé bow tie.

Kai kissed her soft lips, “And you my love, you look so beautiful as usual.”

“Yah, yah, yah!  Let’s keep it clean in here,” Myungsoo joked as he walked in with Krystal.

Kai laughed, “Close your eyes if you don’t want to look.”  

“Do you guys have your microphones and cameras on?” Krystal asked as she adjusted Myungsoo microphone.

“We sure do,” Sohyun replied.  She smiled at them and said, “You guys look so cute together!”

Krystal returned the smile, “Thanks!  You guys look cute together too.”  She laced her hand with Myungsoo and batted her eyelashes at him.  Things between them was still a bit rocky, but she was determined to do anything to keep him.  Even though he had explained everything to her about Nicole, she was still unsatisfied with his explanation.  She couldn’t help but feel threaten by Nicole because she was his first love.  Over the past year, she had worked her off to get Myungsoo to be her man.  She was determined to keep him for herself.  Yes, call her selfish, but she couldn’t help it.
