To the Perfect You“Those who are heartless once cared too much.” – Anonymous
Kyungsoo will never understand why this wonderful university make History as university’s compulsory subject. Why must we learn from the past when it’s more important focusing to the present?
Never mind. It’s not like Kyungsoo’s piece of mind will be heard anyway.
So, here he is, sitting in the midst of students from different majors. He doesn’t recognize any face, he expected that though because a Do Kyungsoo didn’t have many friends. He talked to people, greeted them or even have a minutes of chit chatting with them but it never goes beyond that.
Since this is a subject that necessary to all students, he can’t expect a silent class with a medium number of participants because despite being the university for all those rich kids in the town, this university still have problem in hiring more professors to teach this wonderful History subject. So, they just throw hundred students in a class, and make them drown in the flood of people.
“Hey kids! Let’s start our lesson for today!”
Kyungsoo hated the cue from that professor because when he said let’s start the lesson, he actually means to start asking questions to the student and Kyungsoo really hate this session. He can accept all that was thrown to him but he’s really had a big problem with remembering facts from History.
Ugh!
“Mr. Do Kyungsoo?”
Kyungsoo looks puzzled with his name being mentioned. But then, he got the meaning. Damn, why him among these hundred students?
He stands up, trying to hold his tears because heck, if he can’t answer, this is will a humiliation to him. Another overstatement again from Do Kyungsoo. But he got the feeling, because he didn’t read anything last night, and thank you to his cellphone alarm that didn’t ring on the right time – actually, Kyungsoo is the one who snoozed it more than five time. But, he woke up late and everything’s in rush this morning.
“Tell me, where did the Renaissance started?”
Damn. I didn’t born yet that time. Don’t ask me.
He really didn’t know. He really didn’t remember anything. He closed his eyes, tried to recall if he had read about it but all he saw was a blank space. Just when Kyungsoo thinks he can turn into a ball and hiding under the table, he heard a small whisper sound, Florence, that voice said.
“Florence.” He repeats, and the professor nods, proceed to call another victim.
And Kyungsoo thought he already have a major heart attack when the professor called him just now but when he turns to the back to thank his savior, he thinks human really can die many times in one lifetime. Because what he saw, made his heart stopped beating.
“You’re welcome.” He said, smiling without mercy to Kyungsoo’s little heart.
“Do you have your partner for the project yet?”
Kyungsoo’s still jotting down the notes from the slides, he makes sure to not leave any single words of it. Why didn’t this old man just distribute this slide and make my life easy to not writing this back? He mutters to himself, and then, he remembers
