Chapter V.
The FallenJun tears his hair out in his room.
For the first time, he allows himself to completely lose control.
Blindly destroying the room, swiping everything to the ground.
Burn, shatter, crash.
Demolish it all.
Fire, water, ice.
And then there is a pair of arms, pulling him away from the destruction and chaos.
He had not known he was sobbing.
The pained gazes of Hansol, Seokmin, Wonwoo, and Seungcheol look down at him.
And he loses it again.
He breaks down, wailing as if his heart might burst.
Because truly, it might.
It may as well.
Falling in love with a fallen angel is as dangerous as being obliterated.
It could ultimately lead to it.
Because, despite everything, a Fallen’s heart is still pure.
Jun had learned that through many, many years of experience.
He closes his eyes and lets himself break.
---
Jisoo dismisses the Board, rage still evident.
Minghao leaves slowly, shoulders hunched.
Jihoon slows down, putting an arm around him.
Soonyoung stays behind to walk beside him.
Chan and Seungkwan bring up the rear.
They all hear Minghao’s quiet sniffles.
They know Jisoo’s anger is misdirected.
Oh, so misdirected.
After all, is Jisoo’s brother not Hansol, personal attendant of the Emperor?
Jihoon swallows with difficulty and tightens his arm.
Soonyoung stops and gathers the both of them into an embrace.
Chan and Seungkwan join as well.
And tears shine in all their eyes.
Crystal drops fall from the skies.
One, two, three.
Soon becoming a heavy downpour.
The Mortal World is raining.
Mingyu looks up, turns his face to the Heavens.
The sun is shining, yet it is raining.
“Angels’ tears…” he murmurs.
And but are they not.
