24 ; Nerve
Living StoryIt was a cloudy afternoon, where the sun was eaten up by the soft shapes floating in the sky, and the temperature was warm on the skin. There was easily another hour left of school before the day was over, but Soyung didn't wish to attend, not after crying off all her makeup and having an anxiety attack. Instead, she laid in the arms of the older boy, who held her securely, leaning back against the wall and staring upward. They were on the roof, though this time could get back inside thanks to the door being blocked by an eraser. Soyung had her head on his chest, her torso swallowed by the big pullover she was wearing, the sun tickling her bare legs sticking out of her skirt, and she wanted to stay out here forever. Kyungil ran his fingers through her long hair, noting how peaceful she looked as he did it, and for once he knew he was doing something right. He tried to get an answer from the girl about what she was so scared of and what was bothering her, but it resulting in him pushing a little too far and her nervous breakdown. He leaned down, kissing his forehead softly, every apology uttered from his lips genuine and his heart was racing just from her being so close to him.
"I'm sorry Soyung-ah. I never wanted to make you cry." His voice was soft, urging a small snuggle from her, and he twirled her hair around his finger. "I just want you to know you can trust me with anything, I won't say anything to anyone. I swear." And Soyung covered her face with the sleeves of her sweater. She wanted to scream that it was him she couldn't tell, it was literally everyone else but him. Gina was so specific, and it broke her heart, it made her feel like it was bleeding, shattering.
"Please don't hide from me." Kyungil clutched her wrists, pulling them away from her slightly puffy, red face and shifting so she was closer to him.
"I'm not crying because of you, and I'm not hiding from you either." Soyung struggled to sit up in his arms, her skin still wet with tears and her eyes still strained. He brought his hands out, where he cupped her face with one hand and wiped her tears with another.
"Soyung. You don't have to tell me now, but please when you're ready. I don't want you to hide anything if it affects you like this." When he said this, she nodded almost automatically, knowing that as soon as she could tell him she would. Even if she was able to at 4am she would rush to tell him, she would run to him in the middle of school to tell him, because she was so desperate to. Now she had found her way into his lap, sitting with his legs around his waist as his arms securely around her own. It was an intimate pose, that made her heart pound on her chest, her cheeks flush a natural pink and his lips stuck in a little smile. It felt special to be doing this with Kyungil, who wasn't officially hers yet, but she knew that they were each other's. The moment he kept coming back to her, even after she was inconsiderate of his feelings because the pressure got to her and when he skipped school to check on her. Kyungil was someone who was actually very soft, he looked a little intimidating at first, but really he was just a gentle guy and Soyung loved how he acted toward her. He hummed softly, the sound vibrated through his body and Soyung giggled as she heard it through his chest.
"There's another party I was invited too... You won't know the host but I was debating going." Kyungil spoke quietly, a whisper for only them to hear, and the girl processed the information slowly. "If you want to come you can, but I'm going to keep you especially close this time. I won't know everyone there." He pulled her closer, surprising her and urging a tiny gasp from parted lips.
"I want to go with you... I won't drink this time just in case." The thought that she would be careful for him made him smile, and he gently kissed her lips.
"Good, and if anyone offers you a drink make sure you don't take it. I don't want anyone to slip anything into it." Suddenly he was quite protective of the girl in his arms, making her giggle as he buried his face in her chest. They couldn't get more close, since his face was pretty much nuzzled right above her bust. Soyung didn't mind it though, because he was just innocently laying there, not saying anything about it or being a boy about it, just enjoying the closeness.
"I will make sure not to. I'll listen to you. I also won't hesitate to punch a creepy guy across the face." It was like a warning, and Kyungil looked very proud at the words leaving her lips.
"That's my girl."
