Living StorySoyung sat at the table in the cafeteria, her eyes glancing up every time someone passed her. Turning her head to look at the lunch line, the girl couldn't help but notice Minjae was gone. She was used to the other being late, especially after art class, but she hadn't even returned her texts like she always would. Shifting in her spot, the brunette sat up straight and glanced around the lunch room. When she saw a particular blonde haired boy, she stood up and sighed before wandering over.
"Jaeho-oppa." She said, standing behind him as he then turned around to face her. He was a bit surprised she was talking to him, since this was the first conversation they were ever having, though he expected she would sooner or later. "Have you seen Minjae?" Soyung asked, her eyes glancing over his shoulder which was dusted with a thin layer of glitter. Reaching over, she wiped it off for him, well most of that pesky glitter. It ended up on her fingers, but she didn't care, as she flicked it off her skin. The male looked at his shoulder, as the little sparkly flakes fell off him. He recalled the events of before in the hall.
"Minjae? I saw her in the middle of last period. She was the one who got glitter on me." He said, slipping his hands into his pockets coolly as he watched the girl. She was a little bit taller, but they were almost the same height, which wasn't too bad considering lots of girls were taller than him, he had grown used to it.
"Oh? So you haven't seen her? That's weird." Soyung tucked hair behind her ear, her hands grabbing onto her backpack straps as she turned her head to see if she had come in yet. "She usually comes rushing in after art class on this day. It's really strange she's not returning my text messages." She mumbled, her eyes glancing back over to meet the curious ones of Jaeho.
"She's not answering her phone...? Should we go look for her?" He said, offering the idea as it registered in his mind. If Soyung was worried about her friend, he would more be more than willing to help her, and not just because that friend was Minjae... Okay maybe that had a little to do with it.
"Yeah, let's go look." She nodded, beginning to walk with him out of the large space, rushing down the hallways with him. Soyung was in charge of the bottom floor, Jaeho took the middle floor, and of course Soyung had to peek into every girls bathroom in the school. She even asked a few unsuspecting girls doing their business if they saw her.
Pushing the bathroom door open on the third floor, Soyung sighed and looked up at Jaeho on the other side of the hall, leaning against the wall waiting for her.
"She's not in that one either." She sighed, closing her eyes for a brief second. She couldn't help but worry about her best friend, who seemingly disappeared suddenly.
"We've check every single room, even a locked storage closet, and the staff room. Where the hell could she be?" Jaeho grumbled, walking alongside the troubled girl, who was looking around for anywhere she could be.
"I'll go check the library one more time." Soyung said, running off to the opened door across the hall. Jaeho was left alone, and decided to continue the search. He peeked in a few lockers, curious and just running out of ideas. Walking by the boys bathroom, he walked in, and not to his surprise she was obviously not there. But it couldn't hurt to look.
"I can't believe she's missing. She just talked to me, she hasn't talked to me for a while. Just when we're getting closer she disappears, that really . Maybe she did it on pu-" He stopped in the middle of the hall, he could hear something? Blinking, he looked off to the side. Crying? Chills ran up his spine, because the first thing that came to mind was that this school was haunted and he needed to get out. But then he heard a name, he was 100% sure he heard Soyung's name. Furrowing his brow, he looked to the side, his eyes locking on to the metal roof door. "She can't possibly be out there... In a storm? No way." He hesitantly approached the door, pushing it open and gasping at the sight. A cold, frightened Minjae lay on the ground, quietly sobbing. "Minjae! Holy , what happened? Why are you out here?" He couldn't control his thoughts, and walked outside to get her, not noticing the door closed behind him too. Rushing over, he pulled her into his arms and looked over her, she was shaking, and sniffling.
"J-Jaeho." She whimpered, desperately holding onto him, scared out of her mind. "I don't know how, I was just walking and there was knocking and I guess I tripped but it felt like I was pushed. I'm so scared. I'm so cold." The girl cried out, wiping her eyes with her hands as he hugged her close to his chest.
"Shh, I'll get you back inside and warm. I know you don't like storms, but you're not alone now." He shifted, standi
