Hurt (Ryuu)
YukiI was looking at Hiro's silhouette as he left Yuki's house. I could see his back. His face covered by a black umbrella.
I came to give Yuki the tickets to Boruto: The Naruto Movie since she had wanted to watch it so bad. The tickets got wet in the rain. I had my feet glued to the ground since I got a glimpse of whatever Hiro and Yuki were doing under the umbrella. I wasn't able to go to her doorstep. I didn't want to face my feelings. I didn't want to be jealous of Yuki for having what I could never have. I was standing there in the rain like an idiot, looking down at the ground, scrutinising it as if there were some complex riddle written on it. I slowly walked towards the park adjacent to Yuki's house and sat down on a swing.
After what seemed like an eternity, I heard squelching sounds from the puddle behind me. I looked back to see Yuki's face.
"It’s you!" she said. "I was looking from my window and thought it looked like you."
I smile and gulped.
"What are you doing in the rain?” she said.
I lifted my hand to reval the Boruto movie tickets.
She smiled at me brightly. "Did you come to give these to me? You should have come to my house."
"It's alright. I have some coursework to do so I am just going to leave", I said and started walking away.
"Wait!" I heard her say. I stopped. "Are you alright?"
I turned around her to look at her, smiling. "I am fine. You should probably go inside before you get soaked in the rain."
She waved goodbye at me. I hated myself for wishing she never existed.
