"Oppa? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"May I come in Layla?" He asks.

 

Of course I let him in. As soon as he was inside, we sat down in the living room.

 

"Oppa, are you okay? What happened! Oh my gosh, are you--"

He chuckles.

I stay confused.

"No no I'm fine ha ha. If you don't mind, can I wait with you till everyone comes back? I have news for everyone."

 

I thought about it.

"That you were released from the hospital?"

'Well obviously Layla!'

 

"That, and something else." He grins and he displays his eye smiles.

 

I just shrug it off. 

"Okay then." I simply smiled in return.

 

After that it was awkward.

We had nothing to talk about.

 

"So, hangovers are a drag huh?" He started out of nowhere.

 

I was embarrassed and ashamed. Oppa must think ill of me now.

"Yeah. But I seriously didn't know! Everything is a blur now." I tried to avoid eye contact with him.

 

"Hey it's okay. I also heard about my brother going in there to stop you from losing your ity." He smiled like it was nothing.

I turned red.

"Oppa!" I threw a pillow at him.

 

He laughed.

"I'm just teasing you" he cooed. "But I'm glad my brother showed some care for you."

My eyes drift towards the ground.

 

I tried to think back. 

"Hah, the darn hangover blurred out my memories, but I don't remember Jeongmin being there."

 

Hyunseong just continued to smile.

"Well, that's what alcohol does to you."

 

After a few more minutes it went silence again.

The atmosphere was just weird.

 

Suddenly he sighed.

"How are you and my brother actually?"

 

My eyebrows raised.

"Um, okay I guess? Besides him turning part of me blue!" I point to my eyes.

 

"How cute." He says.

 

I sat there dumfounded as I looked at him.

"What?" I ask.

 

"No no no, I feel bad he did that to you, but you two remind me of a kindergarten couple. If the boy teases you a lot he has a crush on you."

 

I was going to face-palm myself, when Hyunseong continued to talk.

 

"My brother use to be so shy and kind. He still is kind deep down, but . . .ever since his girlfriend incident, he's been cold hearted. Please excuse my brothers behavior, it's really--"

I gave him a sincere smile.

"Oppa, I understand. I know about the incident. I just feel bad I can't help him. It's just sometimes I have these short temper issues and---"

 

He walked over and ruffled my head.

"Ah, no worries, just be yourself, you won't have to worry about your short temper issues."

 

After that, we just watched something as Kimchi joined us,

 

and waited for everyone to come home.

As the time went by, everyone was here. My unnie, oppa, Jeongmin and I.

We all sat in the living room.

Brother to brother and sister to sister.

 

"Baby, what brings you here? Why didn't you call! I was worried!" My sister cries out.

"I'm sorry. I wanted to surprise you." He scratched his head as he chuckled.

 

Knowing my sister, she starts to fangirl and run to sit in between the brothers, leaving me alone.

 

"What are you doing here tho Hyunseong?" Jeongmin asks.

 

"Well, you're about to find out." Hyunseong stands. "Catherine, thank you for taking in my brother" he bows then turns towards me, "Layla, thank you as well. I apologize if he caused you 

any trouble. I am grateful towards both of you." His hopeful expression of a face turns to Jeongmin. "Jeongmin, since I've been released from the hospital, you can move back in with me. I think we've

burdened them enough." He sticks out his hands to Jeongmin.

 

Everyone went silent.

 

You're probably thinking, I'd dance around and celebrate.

Cheer, laugh, joyfully jump up and down.

 

But, I felt the complete opposite.

For some screwed up reason, my heart sunk, it felt numb.

I felt frozen. His words replayed in my mind over and over again like an echo.

 

Did I really feel sad about Jeongmin moving out?
