Coffee & Aspirin

...When I Was Young And In Love

The throbbing in my head woke me up. I looked around the room. Taec was sleeping with his back to me on his bed. I tried not to wake him as I crept over to the door.
“Hyung?” Taec’s voice murmured and he turned over to face me, pulling a set of headphones from his ears. Looks like he wasn’t asleep after all. “You’re just gonna stand there and not say good morning?” he complained at me. Oddly enough, he looked like a child talking to his older sibling, very unlike his usual beastly manner, but it actually made me smile . . . on the inside.
“I thought you were asleep.” I defended myself.
He shook his head. “Been up for hours tweeting Junho.” He held up his phone and then sighed, sitting Indian style in the middle of his bed.
   “Hours? What time is it?”
   “Almost three.”
I groaned. Of course, I’m going to be late meeting with JYP.
“Hey hyung.” He said when I turned back towards the door.
   “Whaaaaat?”
“What does it mean when you have with someone and then they start acting weird with you?”
His question caught me completely off guard. “I . . . who did you . . . ?” I shook my head. “Why are you asking me?”
“I ed Junho-yah in the bathroom last night.” Most guys would be bragging about that with a smile, but he looked almost sad. “Now he says things are weird, he doesn’t wanna go get japchae with me ‘cause he says people would start talk.”
My stomach turned as I barely remembered overhearing the groans and heavy breathing in the bathroom of the club last night. “That was you?” I gagged in disgust. “Gross! You know how dirty bathroom stalls are?!” I hit him over his big stupid head with those big stupid ears sticking out of his messy hair. “Do you? How dare you subject my dongsaeng to such filth! He’s not a , you shouldn’t treat him like one!”
“Y-Yah! Hyung.” He glared. “He shouldn’t treat himself like a . He goes around having with random guys whenever and wherever he wants, then I screw him one time in a bathroom and I’m the bad guy?” He snorted in disbelief and jutted his chin out. “I care about him more than all those guys . . . more than everyone! Put together!”
I shook my head and sighed, staring down at him. Look at him! He’s hopeless . . . “You’re retarded.” I left the room, pausing the second I closed the door and looked over to my right.
Junho was curled up on the floor with his back to the wall. . . .
You’ve gotta be kidding me. I tried to just walk past but I couldn’t help but stop when I heard him whisper. “I really like him, hyung.”
I sighed. “Then why are you just sitting out here?” I nudged him with my foot. “Goooo! He’s in there waiting.” I waited for him to get up before making my way to the kitchen, I needed coffee. Coffee and aspirin. Yes. This was a nice plan.
I showered while the coffee was brewing, to save time, rubbing my temples as I rummaged through the medicine cabinet in search of something that would kill the pain in my head. Why the hell did I drink so much? I popped the cap off the bottle of pills when I found it and took a couple, heading to the kitchen with the towel wrapped around my waist.
“Lookin’ y there  . . . got a date or something?” I jumped at the sound of Chansung’s voice behind me.
I spun around, clutching my chest much like a startled old lady would have. “Yah! Dongsaeng . . . don’t scare me like that!”
   He just smiled.
Maknae was tall . . . almost as tall as Taec. Really, he didn’t look like a maknae at all. He did however, look like a creeper the way he stood in front of me, smiling like an idiot.
God, what’s wrong with him? I started pouring myself a cup of coffee.
He watched me until I was finished before finally asking. “Why are you half ?”
“I’m getting ready to go somewhere.”
   “Where?”
I rolled my eyes. “I’ve got a meeting with JYP.”
   “When?”
“Why are you asking me such questions?!” I snapped at him. “Yah! Can’t you just mind your own business?” I stomped away towards my own room.
“H-Hyung!” He followed, quickly catching up with those freakishly long legs of his.
“What do you want?” I yelled.
“Whoaaa . . . you’re quick really quick to anger, aren’t you?” I wanted to punch him in that derpy doe eyed face of his.
“I’m not!” I sighed. “I’m hung over, that’s all. Now leave me alone.” I opened my bedroom door, almost screaming at the sight of Junho and Taec doing . . . it.
Ugh, what the hell is wrong with these people? I closed the door before they could yell at me, looking back at Chansung, who was also wide-eyed in disbelief.
   “Where they . . . ?” He blinked. I nodded.
He laughed and started to turn away. “That’s funny to you?” I snorted.
“It’s about time. They’ve been flirting with each other for months, maybe now practice won’t be so awkward . . . all that was getting annoying.”
I just sighed, holding the towel around my waist. Great. Now I’d have to stand in the hallway until they were finished doing the thing I refused to think about them doing in the room that I had to sleep in. I leaned against the wall, grimacing, and grumbled about dumb teenagers.
Nichkhun was the only one to pass by me. He stopped in front of me to stare for a moment, hearing the squeaking sounds of bed springs coming from behind my room door and putting two and two together with a huff of laughter before quickly disappearing into his own room. Why does everyone think it’s funny that they’re so open with ?

The door opened twenty minutes later. By then, my whole body had completely air dried and my hair sat in a barely damp mess on top of my head. Junho scurried out of the room, his face turning bright red when he caught sight of me leaning against the wall. He half smiled. “Thank you, hyung.”
What is he thanking me for? I smiled back and nodded, going into my room and shutting the door. I guess some would say I slammed it . . . in his face . . . but I don’t know, it didn’t seem that rude to me. Taec was now sitting at his computer desk with his headphones on. I looked around the room, examining my side to see if anything had been touched. Everything was in its’ proper place. I nodded in approval. At least they have the decency not to “do it” on another person’s bed. I shuddered at the memory of my previous roommate. He wasn’t as considerate as Taec.
I noticed the clock then and groaned. I had fifteen minutes to get to the JYP building.
Taec blinked at me as I scurried to get dressed, asking me what I was doing once or twice. “Meeting with Jin-Young hyung, don’t touch my stuff, see you later.” I yelled in a rush as I ran out the door.
My driver was waiting outside, ready to open the door for me.
It felt weird having someone open the door for me, and not just anyone, my own personal driver. Well, not mydriver, but the band’s driver. It was basically the same thing, which is why it felt weird. But . . . I sure as hell wasn’t going to complain about being chauffeured around.
We arrived three minutes before my meeting. I thanked the driver and ran into the building, heading directly for Jin-Young hyung’s office. I wasn’t even sure what this meeting was about, but whatever. I took a deep breath and stepped inside the office.
After the meeting, I headed out to the car with a smirk. It seemed Jin-Young hyung really liked me. That was a good thing. A very good thing, indeed. I couldn’t help but smile cockily as I thought about all the wonderful things he said about my compositions. Even the poetry I wrote. Well . . . I did win quite a few contests in writing and composing, so what did he expect? I’m Kim mother ing Jun– my thought broke off when I felt someone run dead into me, or maybe I ran into them?
I looked up and blinked at Junho. Wait . . . not Junho.
“What are you doing here?” the words fell out of his mouth like the notes of an instrument.
It was . . . him. The guy from the club. I winced, trying to recall everything from last night. “Do I,” I mumbled, scratching the back of my head. “Do I know you from somewhere?”
“I saw you last night, what are you doing here? Did you follow me?” He snapped
I blinked. “Why would I want to follow you? What makes you so important?” I snorted. “Aish, the nerve of some people.”
He scoffed at me. “You really don’t know who I am?”
   I shook my head.
“Oh,” his face softened a little and he looked away, obviously feeling like an idiot. “Mianhae . . . I’m Rain.” He bowed. “So, really, what are you doing here?”
“I had a meeting with Park Jin-Young. He signed me on as a trainee for a new group the other day.” I held my chin up, almost defensive.
   “Wait, you’re a trainee?”
   “Yeah, why?”
He smirked. I didn’t like the way it looked. Not saying it wasn’t beautiful, it just . . . sent a shiver up my spine. “Does JYP know about your night of binge drinking? Are you even legal yet?”
   I stared. Busted.
He caught sight of the look on my face and laughed. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell your dirty little secret,” I sighed in relief. “On one condition.” All relief suddenly vanished.
“Wh-What condition?” I crossed my arms and tried to keep my best poker face on.
   “Hang out with me tonight.”
I tried to keep my eyebrow from raising, undoubtedly failing. “What do you mean?”
“Just come by my place tonight around . . . let’s say, eight?” He smiled at me again, this time, completely genuine.
   I could only nod.
“Good, I’ll see you then.” He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a small card, tucking it in the right pocket of my jeans and then turned around, walking away.
I blinked and looked down, pulling the card out and examining it, reading the address printed in elegant handwriting over and over. Did he just ask me out . . . ?

To be continued . . .
