The Classified Accounts of Ami Hwang
Description
The funniest part about being cornered against the wall with 7 guns pointed at my head was how the only thing on my mind was my chemistry homework.
I spent so much time memorizing all those ionic compounds, I thought as multiple menacing faces glared down at me. If I get killed, then studying would’ve been such a waste of time. What is this? I can’t go down like this! I spent so much time memorizing all those formulas!
“I’ll ask you one more time,” a low voice growls. A sickened expression involuntarily flits across my features as I identify the speaker. “Were you responsible or not?”
I glare back into his disgusting face. My face betrays no emotion (I think).
What would Mrs. Wringer say if I got shot? She would be so pissed! I would die with a 92 average in Chem! Bull!
The click-click! of a gun’s safety trigger echoes through the dank girls’ bathroom. My throat feels like it is swelling up, restricting my air flow. It is 5:30 PM. There’s no way anyone could be walking in the hall outside, let alone in the school.
“You know what, I think we’re done playing with you,” another boy says in a chilling tone. He smiles, and I feel my blood go cold. “It’s time for you to go.”
Half of my brain is still stuck in Chemistry Land.
I close my eyes, clenching my fists-
Before a roaring explosion rocks the school.
Foreword
Hi. I’m Ami Hwang. Junior. Fan of Java Script, antagonizing everyone, and long walks in the park. Until recently, I was kind of a GPA-obsessed loner. Now I get pipe bombs chucked at me.
If you asked me to start from the beginning- well, I wouldn’t know where the beginning was. Should I start when my friends blew up a chemistry classroom? Or when I pretended to date my worst enemy to save myself from being arrested? How about the 13th time I was almost murdered?
Wait. That stuff’s a little too complicated.
Okay. I’ll tell you about the day when it started for me. The day my life toppled down from its secure pedestal and plunged me into a cesspit of doom, destruction, and daggers.
The day Lina Nguyen asked me to join the Anime Club.
