The Day I Slept with You
The Day I Met You
Hyejeong stretched, leaning back on her chair. The midterms were coming up and she had totally forgotten about them in the frenzy of
Seolhyun's injuries and the project that she and her group had procrastinated on. It was raining as expected and it seemed like a storm
this time as she could hear thunder rumbling. Hyejeong got up, not being able to take sitting around anymore, and fell backwards onto
her bed. She closed her eyes, blissfully feeling her muscles relax.
"Hyejeong unnie?" a small, scared voice asked. Hyejeong shot up, feeling fear shoot through her, and then remembered that Seolhyun
lived with her now. She gave a sigh of relief.
"Yeah? Are you alright?" Hyejeong said, pushing her fingers through her tousled hair.
"Y-yes, but...," the younger trailed off, shuffling her bare feet.
Hyejeong cocked her head. "Are you...scared of the thunder?" she asked, a small smile starting to lift the corners of her lips. Scared
Seolhyun was actually really adorable.
Seolhyun's cheeks immediately reddened and she looked down at the ground. "Yes...can I...sleep with you tonight?" the smaller girl
asked, looking back up to give Hyejeong her puppy eyes.
"H-huh? You-you want to...sleep with me?" Hyejeong stuttered, feeling the beginning of a blush coming on. "I-I mean sure, I guess,"
she quickly said, seeing Seolhyun's expression become crestfallen. The younger girl gave a wide smile and hopped into Hyejeong's
room, closing the door behind her. She pulled back the covers and snuggled into the blankets. Hyejeong stood in the middle of the room,
confounded that her crush had actually come to her willingly and asked to sleep with her. "Uhm, o-okay, I'm going to turn off the lights,"
she said, walking to the switch and flicking it off. Hyejeong was accustomed to her room so she easily made her way around and slid
under the blankets. "Goodnight," Hyejeong said, her body straight as a board. The bed wasn't too big so their shoulders were touching,
and even with only that slight contact, Hyejeong could feel shivers coursing through her.
"Goodnight unnie," the smaller girl said quietly. The room became silent, only the sound of the rain managing to make its way into the
room. Abruptly, a loud rumble and a crack resounded, and Seolhyun jolted and whimpered, shaking. Hyejeong wanted so badly to hug
the younger girl, but she didn't want to come off as weird. But, when the thunder rumbled again and Seolhyun let out a small cry,
Hyejeong turned over and wrapped her arms around the younger girl from behind, pulling her close to her own body.
"It's okay Seolhyun, I'm here. You'll be alright," Hyejeong soothed. The younger girl's shaking slowly calmed to a stop and her
whimpering died away. After a few moments, Seolhyun shifted and before Hyejeong knew it, she was looking at her, face to face.
Hyejeong froze, her heart thumping wildly against her chest.
"Thank you unnie," she whispered, and she suddenly buried her head against Hyejeong's chest, wrapped her arms around her waist,
and curled up against her. Hyejeong froze, not even daring to breath, then she relaxed, her arms resting around Seolhyun. When was
the last time that she had felt warmth like this? The feeling of another person against her? The feeling that she wasn't alone in this
world? Hyejeong smiled, affection makiing its' way into her eyes, and she closed them, falling asleep to the feeling of Seolhyun against
her, and the soft sound of her breathing.
