Interlude 1: In Writing

Since his earliest trainee days, Mark kept a small commonplace book. This was the last thing his parents gave to him before moving to Seoul, aside from the monthly allowance they wired to his bank account. In it, Mark took down all sorts of notes – words he learned outside of Korean class, inspired raps that sounded completely wizard in his head, and places downtown he liked or wanted to explore. He just avoided making a diary of it, in case someone wanted to take a peek. But every now and then, he’d make an account of the important days.
Today, Jr and I went shopping for JB’s birthday gift. We used the money we got from when we were filming Real GOT7. I got ₩7000, but Jr. only got ₩2000. So Jr asked if we could put our money together and buy something. We picked out a book with blank sheet music and some pens...
Mark stopped penning for a moment to well with glee: He had succeeded in grabbing Jinyoung’s hand again when he guided him to the shelf with the blank music books. He also used part of his monthly allowance to buy dinner for the two of them, from which they also had a charming time gossiping about their manager and the other team members. It was a happy day indeed, and the thought made Mark warm with delight.
Then his roommate burst into the room.
“Sundubu, hehe!” Jackson cried excitedly, holding the packets of food he purchased for just under ₩3000.
Mark palmed the words as quickly as possible without alarming the intruder, who was already absorbed revelling in the glory of his purchased dried goods. Jaebum had little to expect for his birthday.
“What are you writing?”
“Oh... nothing.” Mark answered blankly. And so, threatened by Jackson's curiosity, he was forced to conclude his chronicle with five simple words before closing the book and turning in for the night:
We had a great time :).
