Good Company“What are you doing Hayi ah?” Hanbin asked as soon as I picked up the phone on the third ring.
“Now?” I ask and moved to decrease the speed of the treadmill I was on. I had been at the YG gym for the past few days because Hwangssabu ahjusshi had been on my back as soon as he saw Minzy’s photo update of us eating samgyupsal with other sunbaes. He really was updated with everyones’ life - YG familys’ personal stalker ahjusshi. I sighed internally.
“Hmm.” Hanbin says immediately.
“I’m doing exercise…” I reply with an audible sigh.
“Ah...that means we can meet right?” Hanbin says slowly with a pause.
“I think so, I’ve been here for 2 hrs already Hanbin ah! Why do you want to meet?” I complain.
“I want to see you.” Hanbin says and pauses.
“I-I mean its been a long time since we have met right?” he adds quickly.
“True - where should we meet? Are you at the company?” I ask him curiously.
“Hmm, should we meet at the cafe?” Hanbin suggests after a few moments.
“Okay, I’ll wash up and go there. See you soon.” I say and stopped the treadmill altogether before gathering my things and hopped off the detestable machine.
“Hurry and come quickly.” Hanbin says before hanging up.
This guy - always working at his own pace as always. I walked out of the gym feeling accomplished and happy as I was finally meeting Hanbin after some time. We exchanged a few words here and there, but never long enough to catch up. He was always busy, sometimes he would reply to my texts a few days later but I understood his situation so I didn’t exactly took it to heart. I talked to Yunhyeong oppa a few times and whenever I mentioned Hanbin, oppa would say he had secluded himself in the recording studio again. I was constantly wondering if had took heed to my words and ate well even though he was busy, it worried me that he was alone all the time too. But I knew he loved composing, he told me before and I was mesmerised at his passion for music.
I finished washing up, dressed in a simple long baseball shirt with short jeans and white high tops and completed with my hair in messy braids. Passing the gates, I text my mother I would be late before sliding it into my pocket and crossed the road towards the cafe.
“Hayi ah, here.” Hanbin calls out with one arm raised to beckon me over from the small table beside the windows.
“Hi, sorry did you wait long?” I ask in a small voice as I slid into the booth. I look up to him and meet his cheeky grin.
“I did. You are so slow Hayi ah” Hanbin teases, eyes squinting from smiling.
“Yah, I already hurried - look how messy my hair is…” I complained with a pout and rested my head against the table tiredly.
“I was joking. You look fine.” Hanbin says reassuringly and pats my hair. He leans down closer to my face and I couldn’t help but hide my face into my folded arms to avoid his closeness. My face was already heating up and it would be embarrassing if he saw and misunderstood something.
“Are you ignoring me…?” He says lightly as he pulls onto one of my braids gently, trying to get my attention.
“No” I mumble into the table and I hear him laugh.
“Do you want cake?” Hanbin says in attempts to lure me out. I raised my head slowly and look at him and see him analysing the menu. I sit back and grabbed my own menu so I could order too, everything else forgotten.
“Pfft - bought over food.” Hanbin laughs as he peers over the menu to watch me drooling over the cakes.
“Shush ! Food wins - it always does.” I say and concentrate on the various choices in front of me. I was contemplating between the strawberry cheesecake or the lemon custard meringue tart - aigoo..the struggle was real.
“Made up your mind?” Hanbin finally asks putting down his own menu.
“Ummm… okay, we can order.” I reply, ey
