Chapter 22
Teach MeAeri stared at her reflection in the mirror and inspected any changes in herself. She looked left and right, turned her head in different angles but really, nothing had changed with her physically. Her cheeks seemed to be stained in a rosy pink though, maybe because it was from the temperature of the hot shower she just took or maybe it was because her mind was constantly replaying last night's event...she wasn't sure.
The young girl took one last look at her reflection before stepping out of the steaming bathroom, walking down the short hallway and back into the main room. She was too busy drying her hair to even notice the figure that was no longer sleeping but sitting up on the bed, watching her every move with a scowl.
“Aeri.”
A soft gasp escaped her lips and the girl nearly jumped out of her skin at the sudden voice. She stepped back and then looked forward, locking eyes with her brooding boyfriend. “...Hi.” She meekly greeted, dropping her arms lifelessly to her sides. “What are you doing up?”
“I can ask you the same thing.” Kris' deep voice was thick with sleep and his eyes were barely open. The man was still tired and he was upset that his weekend of sleeping in was disrupted “What were you doing?” He was fairly annoyed over the fact that Aeri wasn't by his side the moment he woke up today. He wasn't annoyed with her specifically but rather that she was awake and walking about before him.
“Uh...showering.” The girl replied unsure. Her boyfriend seemed oddly grumpy and even though she knew it was from his lack of sleep, it still made her wary.
Kris huffed, annoyed at the situation and Aeri wanted to coo over how cute he looked in his brooding state. He looked like a giant kid on the verge of a tantrum. “You weren't supposed to be up before me.”
“Why not?” Aeri was still standing in her original position, waiting for Kris to finish what he was saying. Another sighed tumbled out of the man's lips as he ran his long finger through his disheveled hair. “Because a guy should take care of his girl after their first night together. I had plans on you staying in bed all day.”
“Oh....”
“Are you okay?” Kris' eyes were barely open when he stared at her, his stare roaming from head to toe. And even though his gesture was very considerate, Aeri still felt exposed underneath his gaze. She fidgeted in her spot and blushed, “I'm fine.”
“Are you sure?” He would never understand or know what the pain Aeri went through last night was like and that made him want to treat her as delicately as possible. He held out a hand and beckoned for his girlfriend to come to him. Kris watched her every action and tried his hardest to detect any discomfort in her movements, if she was hurt or not, as she came forward. Once she was standing before him, he immediately pulled her down to sit his lap. “You aren't hurt anywhere?”
Aeri shook her head, her arms naturally held onto her boyfriend’s large frame. “I'm fine.”
“Positive?” He would surely be glad if Aeri wasn't in any pain but he would rather be overly caring than risk the chance of neglecting his girl. “I mean, you aren't hurt anywhere? At all?” His girlfriend smiled at him and once again shook her head, assuring him of her well-being. “I swear I'm okay, Kris.” He was beyond gentle to her last night and beside the initial pain, not once that night was Kris rough with her. He constantly showered her with endless love and affectionate.
“Are you tired at least?” He continued to express his concerns, throwing more questions at her. She was still tired. The only reason Aeri was awake was because she couldn't continue to sleep with her body feeling so sticky. She had to clean herself before she could rest comfortably. “I could probably sleep more.”
“Stay and sleep then.” Slowly, he eased the girl off his lap and blindly tucked her underneath the covers, his movements clumsy and languid as he attempted to rid of his sleepiness. “I'll go make breakfast.”
“Aren't you tired?” Aeri didn't even allow Kris to take a step before she stopped him. It was clear that the tall man was still sleepy. He didn't need to get out of bed for her. “You can't even open your eyes.”
“I need to feed you though.” Despite his argument, he didn't fight Aeri off either. He easily fell back onto his bed and allowed for her to cover him with blankets. “You must be exhausted.”
“I'm okay.” She tugged on his arms and gently pushed him to lie back down. “Come back to bed with me.”
“...Okay.
The couple had slept through the morning, not waking up til the late afternoon when hunger began to consume their body. And like Kris had originally wanted, he was the first of the two to wake up this time. And during the time that Aeri was still sleeping, he was able to shower, clean up the place a bit (their clothes has been carelessly discarded all over the place last night), and even m
