“Are you taking double shifts?” Taeyeon asked really serious. You gulped.

You haven’t told her yet that you were working twice as much to get some extra money. They always tried to help you but you never took their money. It’s not that you where ungrateful; it’s just that you felt bad using their money.

She didn’t found out till now because she spent the past week at Jessica’s helping her set the guest room for Sunny.

“Yes” You said as you lowered your head.

“Since when?”

“Last week” She took a deep breath.

Your boss told you your break was over since a big group of people entered the café. You stood up with your head low and went to attend them.

Taeyeon was playing with what was left of her pancakes; she wasn’t mad at you, just frustrated because you clearly needed money and you would rather overwork yourself than ask her for it.

She was in deep thought while Jessica and Sunny where stealing glances at you both. None of them said anything while they finished their food.

“We should get going, it’s getting late” Jessica said as she took Taeyeon’s hand in hers.

They all stood up and went to the door. Sunny and Jessica looked at you and waved. You waved back and smiled a little.

Taeyeon got home early in the morning. She spent the night at Jessica’s. She went to the kitchen and found a lot of empty take out containers and a few dishes in the sink. She sighed and cleaned everything. Once she was done she went to your room. She opened the door carefully and went inside.

You were sleeping on top of the covers with your work clothes on. She shook her head and sat next to you. You where holding a notepad and a pencil. You had written the money you had and what you needed for the house expenses.

She found a bookmark. In that page you had noted the amount that cost the degree in videogame developing but you also had a few other degrees that weren’t as expensive.

She placed the notepad in the night stand, covered you with a blanket and went back to the kitchen to call Jessica.

“You got home already?”

“Yes, I’m in the kitchen”
